For me, the most important thing to prepare for when working abroad is your mindset, being prepared mentally. Being homesick is the biggest mental preparation youll need as most Pinoys are very close to their families (be it your single, married, or have your own family). If you have relatives where youre going to work in, itll be a bit easier as youll already have a support system there. If youll be going to a new place all alone, it may be a harder. Another big one is preparing your mind for the new environment, if itll be your first time abroad, youll see different types of people and cultures. Iba sya if youre on vacation in another country and actually working and living in another country.  You can read articles about how to prepare your mind and that can help to a certain degree, but you can only really adapt once youre there. The faster you adapt to your new environment the better and easier it gets. Hope this helps for your article.

Be prepare to meet a lot of people. Not just at work but also in festivals; there has to be work and life balance. Napansin ko na mostly ang mga Pilipino ay puro trabaho at hindi namamasyal kahit within the city. Visit the museum, galleries, theatre etc. Madaming free events kaya hindi kailangang gumastos ng malaki.

It's a good way to be cultured and open minded since you'll meet people from all walks of life. Use meetup.com to mingle with people who have the same interest as yours. I'm glad I went to an event and meet a friend who thought me about minimalism and gardening and the love of learning new things. So go out on weekends. Know the city you are living in.
