Haggard Wifey din ako, I'm a full time mom of 2 boys 12yrs & 1yr7mos. No helper for 7yrs na. Yung weight, di ko na me-maintain, may year na slim ako, may year na chubby. Kahit ngayon I gain some more weight because of my last pregnancy. Eversince I gave birth, nakakaramdam na ako ng pagod, na dati hindi naman. Kahit nga sa pagtotooth brush, yung arms ko nangangalay. And because I'm in my mid30's, nacoconscious na tuloy ako and I don't want to look older than my age.
What I do now para ma-lessen pagka haggard ko, I see to it na may weekly "me-time" ako. I attend Yoga class, hindi lang sya toning, pagiging flexible and all, I found inner peace din.
Pag nasa bahay, I usually watch YT and aside sa mga make up gurus, I'm into mysteries of the unknowns, mga channel na mind boggling. Ayaw ko maburyong kaya I have to do chores or minsan power naps para makabawi yung katawan ko. I'm also taking supplements like Vit.C ng Kirkland 1000mg. Ok din kasi di naman ako nakakabili minsan sa grocery ng fruits kaya idadaan ko na lang sa gamot. Then, nag take din ako ng Stresstabs, for iron and vit.b complex. So may difference talaga sa well being, yung pagtake ko ng mga supplements.
I rarely watch the news, lalo na yung sa pang gabi.. para less worries. If I want to be updated, I'll read na lang online like sa FB pages ng mga news networks. If I can't go to a salon, I'll buy hair dye yung shampoo type napaka-convenient option kasi I get a new hue from the comfort of my home. No time for spa din, kaya minsan pagka alam ni husband na pagod ako, minsan sya yung nagmamassage. May solution lahat ng haggardness natin mga sissies, yun nga lang sa pag lose ng weight mejo long process yan at yan ang major concern ko right now. Sa sobra pagod ko din kasi di ko na magawang mag exercise. Hehe Maganda din yung mag set tayo ng bonding time with our amigas and date with hubby para may reason mag ayos haha

I am haggard at times in the sense kulang sa tulog kasi I am a working mom and at the same time I manage our home.

What I do to avoid being haggard:

Hair - nag retouch ako ng hair color if needed, hair is important it is our crowning glory.
Skin - right foundation and super light make up and maintain ng lotion
Teeth - nag papa cleaning ako and see to nakakapag adjust ng braces.
Shaving and eyebrow shaoing
my nails are always done. I do not wear chipped nail polish
I see to it I smell good
I dress appropriately, dress how you want to be addressed

I balance my time, by going out with my friends, kids, family and my husband.

Out of town trips

Church Service

I do not eat rice for 9years and drink softdrinks to maintain not gaining weight.

Hello, mommies! :) I love this thread :) I used to feel so haggard and messed up also during my 1st one to two years after giving birth. Ngayon naman na my child is already 4, of course andyan pa rin yung pagod, pero hindi naman haggard levels. Hehe.

I only realized mga 1-2 yrs after giving birth how important "me time" is. Akala ko noon, parang badge of honor nating mga moms na maging super busy, haggard, etc. Feel na feel kasi natin na we're super moms. Hehe. But we do need rest too. I was really very moody to the point na nagseself pity ako noong mga panahong yun.

But now, I'm very happy and content. I'm in a career that I love and my schedule allows me to be present and available for my child and my husband. So back to the question. Haha. Here's what I do, and it might help you too....

1. Beauty - I guess I'm lucky na hindi pasaway ang balat ko. Usually I just wash my face then carry na. But natakot ako sa fine lines so made my own blends (out of essential oils) for my facial regimen. In fairness, maganda naman ang effect.

2. Create a schedule - Kung iisipin mo lahat ng kailangan na gawin, lalo na for WAHM/SAHM eh nakakabaliw talaga. When I was working in corporate, talagang may planner ako for my schedule and to do's. Now na WAHM ako, I still have a planner. It helps keep me sane. At least when I schedule my tasks, I dedicate a time to do these things at hindi ko sila sabay sabay iniisip. :) Of course, it's a different story kung masunod ang schedule

3. Intentional Living / Mindfulness - this is something that I am trying to practice. I'm the type kasi who tries to multi-task and my mind wanders off especially when I'm worried or excited about something. But intentional living is all about being intentional with the things that we do and also focusing on the present moment. Yung hindi ka papadala rin sa agos.

4. Invest in your personal development and growth - We should feel beautiful inside and out. We cannot perform our duties as wives or moms if we're down, stressed, tired, etc. I invested in classes that will help me grow. Pwedeng sa arts and crafts, skills, etc. It's good that we also keep learning and growing. As a life coach, I'm so happy everytime I get to coach moms and whenever I have participants in my workshops who are moms. It's very hard kasi to take some time out of our busy schedules to invest in ourselves. Minsan magguilty pa tayo.  Ganyan din ako. Pero the feeling of learning something new, meeting new friends and continuously improving ourselves help us perform our jobs better too. :)
