In relation to finances, what's the worst money mistake you've made?

Online shopping when I got heart broken. Susko laking pagsisisi.

1) Not keeping track of your expenses (withdraw dito, swipe doon, akala marami pang laman yung account, di namalayan konti na lang pala)
2) Giving in to sales talk (yung nagpapa-uto or nagpapaniwala na kailangan mo ang isang bagay hindi mo naman talaga kailangan)
3) Nagbubuhay-mayaman (ie. eating out 90% of the time)

-sobrang tiwala sa friend / officemate. tinanong nya ko kung pwede maki-swipe sa credit card, I said yes naman since malapit naman sya sa kin. until now ako nagbabayad ng na-swipe nya sa card

i had so many mistakes on money but the worst i did is i never saved and invested at an early age. it is always best to be financially educated at a young age coz its a huge difference when you save and invest early than realizing and doing it when its already late.

I once treated my credit card as if it's free money.

Purchasing a phone that I don't really need since my then-one year old phone was still working perfectly fine.  Plus, it was really expensive (in my opinion).

Many years ago, tuwang tuwa ako sa credit cards. Swipe dito, swipe don. Ok lang sana kung may budget pero ang masama, wala naman pera, swipe pa din ng swipe. Hindi ko namalayan umabot na ng 300K utang ko. 

Ang hirap bayaran. I was in the verge of asking help from my Dad to pay for everything but I did not. Pinanindigan ko yung utang ko kasi kasalanan ko. Sort of giving myself a lesson as well.

Nahirapan ako bayaran, katakot takot na interest inabot kasi hindi ko ma-pay ng full pero in 1 year, nabayaran ko din lahat + the interest charges.

Fast forward to today, sobrang allergic ako sa utang hahaha! Dahil sa nangyari na yon, sobrang natuto ako na huwag na huwag mag swipe kung walang funds sa savings account ko.

Well, biggest money mistake so far is winaldas ko yung binigay sa akin na pera after my dad passed away. Malaki yun, and I have nothing to show for it. Sabi nga naman nila, kung hindi mo pinaghirapan, you won't fully realize the true value of things. Dun ko na-realize na certified gastadora talaga ako noon and I needed to change ASAP. Hanggang ngayon I'm still feeling the effects of my inability to manage money when I still had lots of it. Sayang talaga.

Putting up a Direct Selling Physical store when I know that the trend is more on online selling.

Nagsimula kasi ako as an online seller, and I thought na mas malaki ang kikitain ko kung magkaroon din ako ng physical store.  Similar dun sa mga one-stop shop ng mga direct sellers.

In the end, I wasted 2years of my time and lost about 100K+, because of unpaid dues ng mga dealers ko.

I had to pay for them using the budget I have for my kid's investment money.  2 years kong napabayaan ang stocks portfolio ko since I always need the money para i-abono sa mga purchases ng dealer na di nagbayad.

I'm now free from it and slowly recovering.

For starters, simply online shopping, konting foodtrip here and foodtrip there. Di namalayang ang laki na pala ang nagastos pag na accumulate na. Although enjoy ka naman, pero you have to think of your future din. Invest on something na magamit mo. Pag dumating yung araw na kelangan mo na talaga ng pera, dyan mo ma rerealize at mag regret at masasayangan ka sa lahat ng nagasto mo in the past. So SAVE SAVE SAVE! Di nating alam anong mangyayari in the near future, dba? The best way lang talaga is to balance everything out. Tip is keep a journal. List everything na nagasto mo para may physical kang makikita kng ilan na ang nagasto mo for that day, month o year

I agree sis. I think regardless of the amount, basta luho lang at wala naman funds for it, hindi ok gamitan ng CC.

Minsan yung mga ganitong mali, nagtuturo talaga ng leksyon sa tao. Im not saying na tama mangutang sa credit card pero dahil sa nangyari sa akin sobrang naging allergic ako sa utang and mas maayos ako mag manage ng finances ko now.

Magastos pa din ako, mahilig kasi ako mag shopping haha pero ang difference ngayon, may funds ako na ginagamit talaga hindi na utang.

^ i was also a victim of credit card misuse. parang ginawang free money lang ang credit limit swipe dito swipe don lol! i really did learned the hard way! pag nabaon ka na sa utang saka lang marerealize ang mga mistakes na ito. experience is the best teacher nga naman.

Ang credit card kase, it can be your best friend or your enemy it all depends on how you treat it. Natuto din ako dyan. I bought a lot of stuff for our house dati, swipe lang ng swipe tapos ang binabayaran lang is yung minimum amount due thinking na liliit yung balance over time.. kaya when i think about it now ang laki ng nabayaran ko sa interest charges pa lang. Kaya lesson learned is wag gamitin ang card pag walang naman pera pambayad haha. I use it responsibly now and i still use it a lot for the points, i always pay na the total amount due and to pay it before the due date to avoid late charges.

My worst money mistake was magpahiram ng pera sa "friend". Ayun, awa ng Diyos. blocked na ako at di na naibalik ang 30k ko.
