PLDT DSL or SKY : What to choose?

Hi mga sis!

I don't know if dapat dito ko ipost tong topic ko.

What whould you recommend na internet connection, PLDT or Sky?

I'm using PLDT DSL with a phone line and it serves our needs fine.  I don't think we've ever had to call them except one time for service issues which they responded immediately. If you miss just 1 payment of your bill, they cut the service immediately.

With Sky DSL, I haven't had any experience but my cousin uses this in their home and we live in the same area. They complain that when cut-off time is approaching, their connectivity  becomes unreliable. Pawala-wala daw. I guess it happens often enough para ma-comment nila. When I'm over there, I find the connection drops often. It might be just their own connection or just their area, IDK. That's just the feedback I got.

Di maganda service ng PLDT dun sa bahay namin. Pag may problema punta daw technician pero wala naman dadating. Follow up ka pa

Yung application naman sa condo, susme anong petsa na wala pa din update.

Nag sky kami, lagay agad at wala kami problema.

We've been a PLDT subscriber for about 5 years. Reliable naman. But last month biglang nawalan kami ng dial tone at internet for 3 days na naging 1 week na naging 2 weeks. Customer service useless. Mahirap kausap. They closed the complaint ticket saying naayos na daw pero wala naman naayo. Another ticket was created wala pa rin. Since we used internet for work we have no choice but terminate the service.

We're now using Sky. Can't say it's as reliable as PLDT pero tyinatyaga na lang kasi nga we need it for work. Madalas maputol-putol. Dunno if it's because of the area or what.

ask ka muna sa area niyo kung ano gamit ng mga kapitbahay niyo saka kung maganda ba signal. kasi dito samin sa taguig, pangit talaga service ng pldt DSL. nag transfer kami sa sky, ang laki ng difference.
pldt - kung kaya mo, yung fiber ang kunin mo sis. wag dsl. konti nagrereklamo sa fiber
        -  antabay ka sa mga tumatawag na nag offer ng loyalty bonus na mga gadget. scam yata nila yun. inofferan si mama ng tab, kala niya dahil loyalty walang bayad. napa oo siya. dagdag 300 agad sa monthly bill. after 6mos sira ang tab. saklap. usually inooffer pag patapos na lock in period.
       - (dsl) huling gamit namin, naka plan kami for 3mbps. then ginawang 5mbps yata nung nireklamo namin. wala pa din. pahirapan pa din sa signal. madaling maka connect sa hotline, nagpapapunta din sila ng technician. kaso mga after 3 days bumabagal internet namin. hindi naman namin nalalampasan daily cap. sayang lang pera.
        - hotline nila, libre naman tumawag. haha

sky - ngayon sky kami. ok na ok samin, pero kasi taguig area kami. depende daw talaga sa location. may mga nagrereklamo sa service ng sky pero samin naman, ramdam namin ng tropa ko difference nila ni pldt.
       - pag sinabing unli, unli siya. kung ilang mbps ang plan niyo, yun talaga makukuha mo.
       -  PLAKDA SA CUSTOMER SERVICE. sus. hirap tumawag sa hotline nila. maubos na load mo, nagpipili ka pa ng options kasi bagal magsalita nung answering machine nila. yung tatawagan mo kase landline kaya hindi libre tumawag. though nag rerespond sila sa email, twitter and fb.

Agree ako sa pag survey muna sa mga kapitbahay kung ano gamit nila and feedback.

Nagtanong na po ako dito samin, ok daw ang pldt sa amin dito. Minsan nagbubukas ako wifi, puro pldt yung nasasagap ko.

Yung sky dito nawawala signal pag umuulan at pag gabi daw mabagal, yun pa naman yung oras na nagiinternet kami ng malakas.

Okay raw yung cable eh diko naman kailangan ng cable. Yung sky dito samin first months okay raw service, pero pag matagal na dun na nagsisimula yung panget na signal. Mag aapply nko sa pldt, mag uupdate po ako kung ano mangyayari.

Sana po may mga reviews pa, taga qc po ako sa may timog area.

Guys, may nakapag try naba sainyo ng magpapalipat ng PLDTmydsl connection doon sa
ibang location? Kasi lilipat kami ng house at so far ok naman signal ko dito sa amin, QC area lang din ang lilipatan namin pero dami ko kasi nababasa na 1 month daw bago malipat talaga yang connection. Eh need ko ng internet araw araw

Sky user here and based on my experience hindi maganda ang internet connection. I asked the technician kung bakit madalas nawawalan ng connection ang sabi niya kapag ng uupdate or ginagawa sa lugar humihina daw talaga ang connection. I am residing in Paco and I agree na depende nga sa lugar ang ganda ng connection. My friend uses SKy and she lives in Pandacan. Sabi niya satisfied naman daw siya sa internet nila.

Does anyone here uses globe? Feel free to hare your experiences. Thanks!

I was a Globe user before we switched back to PLDT (so our 2nd time na). Okay naman yung Globe for the most part. I think area to area den yan. Regarding sa speed, we got what was stated in our plan so long as we haven't used up our allocation for the day. Pag naparami ang download, e di gapang na ang browsing until mag reset around midnight. Fair use policy.

As far as their customer service, they're responsive naman and if it can't be resolved over the phone, they would send a technician na normally next day agad or basta within 2 days dadating.

Now the physical connection itself, dun kami nagka problem. Pag umuulan or malakas yung hangin, nawawala yung connection namin. Ilang beses den kami pinuntahan ng technician pero after a while ganon na naman (binabahayan ng hantik (sp?) sa poste. Tapos yung last technician, he found out na may part pala na kulang dun sa poste nung ibang technician na nag install kaya pala di stable yung connection namin. After non, naging stable na yung connection namin kaso during that time, nag apply na kami sa PLDT.

Okay naman sky EXCEPT FOR THEIR TECH STAFF. Manghihingi ng pera for the parts na kailangan tapos walang resibo. Kesyo wala silang resibo.
