What film adaptation of a novel you think delivered?
« on: July 13, 2017, 09:33:36 pm »
What book/novel you love also succeeded as film?
How bout those that failed?

I'm about to watch "Holes" (2003) starring Shia LaBeouf.  Sana same feels :) I really love the book by Louis Sachar.

Lord of the Rings was filmed close to the Novels.
Pride and Prejudice (Keira Knightley) was good as well. So far the best adaptation of the novel. There are differences from the novel but still cinematography wise, it's still the best.

My dad said the same of LOTR.  Di ko kasi nabasa books.

Yes to Pride & Prejudice!  Keira and Matthew's interpretation of Lizzie and Darcy were as close as to what I imagined the characters to be.  I LOVE the 2005 adaptation.  Cinematography was so breathtaking.  Sana makapunta akong Chatsworth someday.

The Silence of The Lambs for me.

When I re-read the novel, parang naiimagine ko yung mga kadiring scenes sa movie portrayed.
I don't need easy. I just need possible.

Yes ang ganda din ng film! Medyo ma-comic ang pag visualize ko when I was reading the novel, but yung portrayal ng cast, mas realistic. Na-enjoy ko rin panoorin. But since alam ko ng kwento, wala na yung mga surprise element sa dulo.

Good question. Having a hard time thinking of delivered but failed for me was Love In The Time of Cholera. It was too loyal to the novel that it became a drag.

The Time Traveler's Wife was also a failure.

^I agree. The movie's ending was different from the novel though.
