Instead of harassing myself to cook for other people, we opted to do outings and out-of-town escapades during my boys birthday.

The 7k to whatever X-amount you'll spend feeding the bisitas and buying souvenirs for other people's kid's were better spent on a holiday with just your family.

very well said  :)

i would prefer small bday celebs lang except 1st and 7th bday or pag debut for girls. this still depends sa budget kung meron pag wala, for me no issues kahit kain lang nga sa labas pwede na. magastos magparty every year i mean yung bongang party ha. parang i would rather spend on something more worthwhle like outing or traveling on their birthdays kc you get to give them the experience of learning new cultures and it widens their perspective in life too. ayoko rin kc masanay ang bata na may party every year kalalakihan nya yun at baka hanap hanapin. if the child is older maybe we can ask them what they want or to do on their birthdays din.

yung 18th bday siguro tatanungin ko anak ko kung alin gusto niya - magparty or mag abroad
kung party kasi baka nasa 150-200k magagastos, sa panahon ngayon dapat kasi praktikal ka

Celebration doesn't mean, super extravagant. The usual dinner with family and close friends will do  ;) Me and husband mas gusto namin na ganyan lang mag celebrate.

For me though as long as you have budget without sacrificing more important things, then party is ok. :)

Nasa preferences at kakayahan naman ng parents yan and sa gusto ng bata kapag maisip na sya.

for my daughter's 7th birthday, I want a big party for her but if she will tell me na she does not want, hindi ko ipipilit.

Sa ngayon kasi whenever we ask her, she always say, gusto nya magbkasyon sa beach.

Yes, yearly naman dapat talaga but not necessary na bongga! Then will buy go to church.

i dont remember na every year ako nagcecelebrate ng bday ko. siguro dahil wala naman IG at FB nung panahon ng parents ko. ngayon parang every year nag cecelebrate na ng bday para lang may maipost.

Celebrate because you want to celebrate. di naman kailangan yearly e may party. i know someone na nakikitira lang naman sa parents ng asawa nya pero every year may pa-party sya sa bahay nila sa province. may games, tarp at bonggang cake, yearly yan for their 2 kids. pero yung brother ko who owns a condo + house & lot, pa-luto lang ng spaghetti sa bahay and cupcakes na may design na gusto ng mga anak nya. kami lang din ang bisita na family nila. tapos recycle lang namin yung happy birthday na sign every year sa 2 kong pamangkin. nag bday lang sila ng bongga nung 1st bdays nila and yet happy naman yung kids kasi bawi din naman sa regalo sa kanila or staycation sa hotels. wala lang, natatawa din kasi ako na minsan kung sino pa yung wala, sila tong sobrang makapilit sa mga bagay na di naman nila kaya.

anyway, mas maappreciate ng mga kids if yung gusto nilang pag-celebrate yung gagawin. or if gift na lang instead of bongga parties. ang importante naman is happy ang mga junakis without breaking the budget. tsaka pag bata pa, di naman nila maaalala ang mga bonggang parties.

Hello TS! Yearly ba DAPAT ang birthday 'celebration'? Pilosopong answer pero siyempre, you celebrate birthdays  every year - each year of life is a gift after all. <3

Does it have to be a party yearly? No of course. Depende yan sa maraming bagay.  Parties by tradition talaga is 1st, 7th, and 18th lang dito sa atin sa Pinas. We celebrated with a party from baptism to my kid's 7th birthday last year. The only big parties were her baptism, 1st, and 7th, the rest were just small celebrations at home, and once sa classroom (May kasi birthday, hehe. so we celebrated in advance na lang).  I enjoyed planning those parties, and she loved them all too (she loves looking back at her old birthday photos, tuwang-tuwa siya), and I realized that there will come a time na aayaw na sya sa mga party.

Ayun nga, when she turned 8 this year, ayaw na niya mag-party. We just went on a staycation, special dinner, and had pizza and pasta at home. The celebrations moving forward, sa kanya na talaga magdedepende. :)

That said, celebrate with a party when you feel like it. Ganon kasimple. Don't feel pressured to hold a party every year kung di nyo bet. There is no DAPAT. :)

If you feel like holding a party every year and have the budget for it, go go go din. Don't fear being judged na 'hindi praktikal' or 'magastos kayo'. Your money, your family, your rules. And besides, the memories are precious - so lovely to look back on. My died dad this year, and I am glad we celebrated my daughter's 7th birthday party last year na parang 'debut' na may 7 roses - they got to have that dance that they'd never get to have when she turns 18.
