BACKTAXES and Real Property Tax
« on: February 21, 2017, 08:10:14 pm »
We have received a letter from BIR that our unit's RPT has not been paid since 2011 and if it is not paid soon, the property will be auctioned off.  It's true that we haven't paid. We are not based in the Pinas and everytime we said we will update it, we haven't been able to find the time nor someone to do it for us. Here are my questions which i hope you can enlighten me:
1. Saan kami magbabayad? Sabi sa manila city hall daw. Anything i need to bring to be able to pay? What are the steps i have to take to settle the back-taxes?
2. Sa city hall lang ba talaga ang bayaran or meron sa malls?
3. Kapag ganito na back-taxes, do i have to pay it in full or pwede sya na hulugan?
though i think better in full since it will still acquire interest kapag hindi pa in full..
4. Why do they auction your property off kapag hindi ka nakakabayad ng tax? It's not like ni-loan mo sya from the govt or bank db, it is in my name and paid in full

Thank you!

You can pay the RPT in advance lalo na sa case mo na out of the country ka.  Ako nagbabayad ako mga October usually good for 2-3 years though nandito lang naman ako.

Ang penalty ng RPT is 2percent per month of delay. tama may 20% discount if you pay in advance for the following year.

I make sure I pay it in full and to take advantage of the discount then pay the tax property for the following as early as Oct.

Hirap pag hindi updated lumalaki ang babayaran plus interest, where as kung every year ang bayad hindi mabigat sa bulsa

yes, if personal kang magbabayad pwede lang sa city hall kung saan located yung property. however, icheck mo na lang din if may other means of paying.

We have a condo in QC and recently ko lang din nalaman na we can pay the RPT thru GCASH basta alam mo yung tax declaration number mo.
