Best ways to wake up a toddler and go to school
« on: January 17, 2017, 05:05:39 am »
It's hard to make my boy get up and harder even to go to school.
last year, he was a nursery and schedule is 10am so it's easier, now it is 7am.

I watched super nanny's tricks and I just could not follow anymore. Any out of the box or experienced mother's stories to share? Thanks!

My mom is a Massage Therapist and she says the best way to wake up a child is by pinching the toes. She used to do it when we were little and effective naman. :P

try mo patulugin yung son mo ng mas maaga. what i did was 7:30-8pm pa lang pinapatulog ko na anak ko para magising siya ng 6am. sa hapon ko na rin pinapa liguan mga 2hours bago matulog para pag morning bihis na lang. tulog nga siya pag binibihisan ko. dahil magbyahe pa going to school sa car ko na pinapakain. after makakain di na siya sleepy and sakto rin malapit na kame sa school.

walang one size fits all kasi iba iba ang mga kids. try mo na lang mag experiment kung alin ang mag work sa son mo.

Best way talaga is patulugin nang maaga.wag mo patulugin sa hapon kasi mataas ang energy nyan sa gabi hindi yan makakatulog.baka 11pm na makatulog.wag mo pakainin ng matatamis kasi it will give him extra energy.then paglaruin mo sa labas para mapagod.

Hehe.. :)

^sis ok na rin na sa kinder 2 7am kasi pag nag grade 1 siya for sure early rin class more or less 7am rin and whole day na so better start early.

just train your child para makapag adjust siya. same with sis hushush ginagawa ko sa son ko before pag 7:30pm off na ang lights sa bedroom then tinatabihan ko na siya wala na pwede pumasok sa kwarto habang nagpapa tulog para hindi siya ma distract.  pag tulog na tsaka ko ginagawa mga gusto or dapat ko gawin tuloy tuloy naman sleep niya.

Yeah there is no one trick fits all i think....
But in general it's best for your toddler (and every school kid) to sleep early.

With my kids, I kiss them sa cheeks, nose, forehead, with "good morning".. that's how i wake them up.
And i do it 10-15mins before they need to wake up. This gives them time to stretch, ikot ikot sa bed, pikit pikit ulit, whine "still sleepy..."
Then i come back after 5 mins, and tell them how many more minutes left before they really need to get off the bed.
Ayun, so far effective naman.

Of course may times hindi, pero bihira.
And if they don't get up on time, then they're late. And for me it's okay because then, they learn the consequence of their action.

And since they want to be on time for school, they know what they have to do.

my 3 you has 8AM nursery class. we were hesitant to enroll her at first because of the schedule. Its really early for my toddler because normally she sleeps late but got no choice so sige na lang.

Putting them early to bed is a given but what helped me really was to prepare her weeks before, reminded her days before and then prepare her again the night before that she has to wake up really early on school day - she will feel sleepy and maybe doesn't want to open her eyes but she has to get up because she has school.

Basically, I just set expectation and so far it's been effective, no crying, no protests, no drama.

pag may early weekend activities naman, my husband and I usually play upbeat music and then dapat upbeat din ang approach ni Mommy sa pag gising. :p And of course, alam na ng kids why they have to wake up early. It's been effective. :) I can't think of a day na nahirapan talaga ako.

Grabe ang aga ng pasukan sa pinas. Kahit sa singapore. Ganun ata talaga sa Asia? just can't help but compare.

When my kids were still studying in SG, if i still remember it correctly, 7:30 they have to be in school. So i wake them up at 6:15am (mabilis lang naman byahe dun but i have to mind the bus schedule).

Here in CA, 8:45 ang pasok.

So para on topic, how to wake up toddler. Sleep early the night before. Give ample time when waking him/her up kasi hindi naman sila switch button.
