Wedding planning burnout! What to do?
« on: December 14, 2016, 11:46:51 am »
Hi sissies! I know all of us here are very excited about our weddings! Pero minsan ba parang nabburnout din kayo sa wedding planning, napapagod magisip ng mga dapat gawin sa wedding? lalo na for those working full time like me.

Please share your thoughts and anong ginawa nyo. This might help some of us here na napapagod na din so we could all uplift each other's spirits.  :)

Minsan lang nakakapagod talaga pag sinasabayan ng madaming workload! but still of course very excited to get married!

I'll wait for your stories!  :)

Hi sis! 14 days nalang til our wedding :) Full time bride din ako at talagang nakakapagoad mag-isip at magdecide.

Congrats in advance!

Final details na lang ang kailangan namin ipolish for the big day para sana smooth sailing at maturn-over ng maayos lahat sa coordinator before the big day!

Until now I cannot finalize my flower colors!  ???

^parehas tayo sis, i didnt know the small details will cost me more time thinking, detailing and conceptualizing. Im making my life easier by having a primary colors and secondary colors to choose at hindi ka na dapat lumagpas dun dahil baka magkaroon ng another level ang secondary colors mo ng primary and secondary.

My basic rule of conceptualizing my theme.

1. Choose the final colors (limit it to 4 colors) have a primary and secondary.
2. Less is more ( i keep reminding  myself to have the simplest wedding  as possible, dont be tempted to get high tall vases, full floral tablescape)
3. Have better options (know your options in terms of flowers you can have variety to choose from)
4. Stick to your theme (when browsing pinterest you will be tempted to see a lot of stuff, basic rule is stick to your theme so you wont end up changing and changing)
5. Once you have conceptualized them present them to h2b and ask for opinion or option (most likely  oo nalang siya, better if he comments or suggests)
6.Present them to your stylist ( ask your caterer first maybe she might able to accommodate some request or include in the package, if not hire stylist )

May burnout, umay, suya, sawa factor. Yung stress and pressure, wala pa gaano, pero minsan sa finances oo.

Ako naman, I don't know pero siguro as a little girl, or as a woman na lately eh often watches wedding videos, lalo na nung naglabasan sila JMag, Bob Nicolas, etc noon pa man meron nako wedding peg in mind, and di naman yun nagbago. Nakakaappreciate ako ng ibang styles and so on pero for my self I have a very clear picture of what my wedding would be.  :D

I want it to be simple, minimalist as much as possible, light yung maaliwalas, white and yellow flowers lang with leaves masayang masaya nako, somewhat laidback hence the rustic theme, lace bridal gown for me, messy updo, I mean you knowmeron akong big picture in mind, and the rest, lalo na smallest details, bale wala na sakin, what I do is I get the  Supplier na gusto ko and bahala na sila sa magic nila.  :D

I'm not that meticulous sa smallest details, kaya siguro di din ako ganon ka stressed or kangarag sa bagay bagay, and lahat naka plan lang talaga ahead, may budget na sinusunod, may allowance para di masakit sa ulo, like sa budgeting what I did is, puro even nos. ang nasa calc ko, so may mga sumobra, na pwede ko na iallot sa "wants" list ko nung nagaccumulate. :D

The ngarag part is yet to come paguwe namin since we are based abroad.  ;D

I think with all the SDEs, wedding blogs, and social media it puts a lot of pressure on couples to have a pinterest perfect wedding. Stressful talaga not just budget-wise but also in terms of having to consider every little detail.

I find taking a break from the wedding planning helps me a lot. I know for some they only have 2 weeks or so pero I think having one day of not thinking about the wedding will do wonders and will be refreshing. Do something you enjoy that is not wedding related.

Also don't be afraid to ask for help. I'm sure you have family and friends and even your H2B will be willing to help you.

Kwento lang, I was feeling demotivated with wedding planning the last few weeks kasi it was getting overwhelming. So last week, I just let it go and didn't do anything wedding related. On Saturday, before I fell asleep I asked H2B to help me conceptualize the styling for the wedding. The next day we sat down and looked for pegs and by Sunday night I had churned out 15 pages worth of pegs and detailed requests for my stylist.

Tama sis, kahit once per week lang to clear your head from wedding planning overload. Use your coor as confidante too, nakakarelieve ng stress. :D
Way to go 2017 brides!
Keep the faith up! :D

I actually spend mga 10-15 mins a day to meditate and relax from the planning.

It helps keep me from being too micro-managing.  And helps me really focus on the important parts of the wedding depending on what you want.

For me, its the food kasi. Magkagulo na lahat, huwag lang uuwing gutom. My family and friends bonds come from food and that is what we wanted to share with them as well.

You may not have everything go perfectly, but there are 1 or 2 things you yourself can do almost 90% great focus on that. everything else, go get some help haha

Glad to know na di lang ako nakakaexperience ng umay sa wedding planning! haha. kaya nga for friend na ikakasal, sabi ko go for a 6-month preparation kung kaya ng finances! hehe..

thank you for the step by step to dos lots-o! tama! minsan ang hirap magstick sa theme dahil sa napakadami mong nakikita online! but we have to, lalo na kung malapit na kasi malilito na yung supplier at baka maging disaster pa ang wedding dahil naguluhan sila. hehe!

Agree with having day offs also in wedding planning! it really helps! we're on the stage of giving out invitations, hassle lang minsan magikot hahahaha!

Now, I can say na kaya naman 3-6 months preparation as long as ready na [textspeak!] budget and free pa si Supplier in mind. Haha! ;D We need to save some for the big day. Also, what I do is, I try my best not to talk about it as much as possible with my friends and family, kay g2b lang every now and then. Pag lasing pinaguusapan, or puro post sa social media ng wedding preps details halos wala nang element of surprise.  :D

nakakaburnt out nga talaga minsan, hindi ko narin pinaparamdam kay hubby pero what i do now is concentrate sa work out ko which helps me espcially pagnakikita mo nagwowork, im not losing weight pero nagtone yung body ko.

Parang sideline ko ngaun yung wedding preps. Pero sadly i need to go back planning again. (sadly talaga) haha joke. I need to finalize na yung yung mga wedding pegs namin. Ayoko narin maglast minute changes. Oh well(Overseas bride problems). Ako sis i just posted yung mga ayaw kong photos. I need to add more hobbies! haha. Umay talaga. Hoping after Janaury makapagbakasyon para mawala umay!

Since our wedding is 7 months away pa wala pa masyado burn ou on planning, yung meron ay stress on financial aspect because there are some expected bonuses that did not materialize, or did but less than than the expected amount. So medyo nagwoworry ako.

Tapos we haven't met with our florist for church yet, we haven't finalized details with our caterer and we are still looking for quality but affordable OTD Coord. These suppliers are province based so we'll try to meet them this December.

I'm also thinking of the document requirements from the church and municipal hall since we'll have like only 2 days to take care of that less than 2 months before the wedding which is on May 2017. At the same time we'll have our prenup na din sa province. So crunch time na. I ask my parents to try to take care of the submission of documents for us para pagdating namin seminars nalang.

Minsan ang sakit sa ulo so what we do to cope up with the stress -- we shop! We shope for the things we need for the wedding. Like prenup clothes, wedding accessories, souvenirs etc. And we also watch movies.

Happy preps mga sis! Hope we all deal with our burnouts well! Kaya natin to!

If you're feeling stressed over wedding planning, take a short break. It's very effective. We have 60 days remaining till our big day and may mga kulang pa ko. These past 2 mos. nagvacation kami twice - Cebu and Ilocos for a quick vacay. Nakakarefresh naman sya. Then back to wedding planning ulit. Right now, nagpapractice kami for our dance number. Nakakatuwa. Go shopping din pag stressed kna. Buy wedding stuff na need nyo (watches, jewelry, headdress, etc) Aja!

Nakakastress naman talaga pagplan ng wedding. Recently, di ko nakayanan, iniyakan ko na lang, as in hagulgol na iyak sa daming drama. After nun, okay na ako. ;D ;D ;D

Hrmm wala pa naman ako sa ganitong level since more than 1 year pa to our wedding :) Pero true ha, nakaka ubos ng lakas and oras maghanap ng maghanap online. And of course you cannot decide on your own, we need our fiance's approval or say ;)

So yeah I guess, massage/spa and mani/pedi will do for me :)
