Owner-Type Jeep

Sissies... need inputs and advice...

i had a car before (toyota corolla 1994 model) years ago. pinilit ako ni papa to buy this so i can practice but my first choice was actually an owner type jeep, yung basic para kahit magasgasan walang problema.

but my dad was vehement about me buying it, and so obliged to buy nalang a car kaya nauwe ako sa toyota..


so during one of my practice, i accidentally scratched the car in one of those malaking circular cemented na for water drainage... nastop na ko kasi parang natrauma na ko sa gastos and sa kakatalak ng dad ko dahil sa gasgas sa kotse... so ayun binenta na lang at hindi ko rin napractice yung driving lessons ko.

now i wanna go back in learning and this time, am really thinking of buying a secondhand and thinking of an owner type jeep.

kaso ang dami namang nagsasabi from people na hindi okay ang owner type...

eto yung mga reasons ko bat ko gusto:
1. okay lang magasgasan tutal for practice lang sya
2. matipid sa gas


what are your insights mga sissies... need your honest opinion on this...

have you tried enrolling yourself sa driving lessons?

as for the owner type jeep, i think kung medyo nasa city ka i'd advice against an owner type. kinda risky din kasi since wala masyadong mapo-provide na security yung vehicle unless yung bibilhin mong jeep is yung enclosed yung cab.

as for the driving experience  itself, i'd say na parang "un-polished" ang magiging experience mo sa jeep. depende sa mabibili mo na jeep there's a chance na medyo mahirap i-steer or medyo malalim yung apak na kailangan sa pedals or matigas yung pedals, maluwag yung shifting gears, etc. compared sa cars na parang "standard" or hindi masyadong varied yung driving experience between different cars. if you're going to get a jeep na diesel kailan alaga sa maintenance otherwise magiging mausok.

for me i'd say na get a cheap-ish compact car na lang for practice and enroll ka din sa driving lessons. minsan talaga di maiiwasan ang mga minor accident habang nag-a-aral magdrive so try to learn from the experience na lang din para maiwasan mangyari uli and don't get discouraged. i'd say na it's better to keep a mindset na dapat iwasan magka-accident regardless of what vehicle you're driving kahit nag-a-aral ka pa lang. using an owner type jeep and as you said pag owner type ok lang magasgasan since for practice lang might not be a good foundation on learning how to drive.

btw, i started learning to drive using an owner type jeep. dun ako tinuruan mag-drive ng tito ko when i was in high school. pinilit ako mag-enroll ng parents ko sa driving school nung pwede na kumuha ng learner's permit and nag-practice na lang ako sa own car namin.

yeah wanted to get an owner type jeep just for the purpose na kahit magasgasan, okay lang.... hehe....
