Recently attended a wedding, I know for a fact na budget wedding lang sila. yung food nila aside sa hindi masarap, hindi na nagrefill yung caterer. the food on my plate was lumpiang sariwa, 1 slice of pork and sabaw ng chicken kasi ubos na. hindi na umabot samin. the newlyweds said may parating daw na food at sila yata ang nagluto, pero sympre nakakuha na kami sa buffet nila and natapos na kami kumain wala pa yung second batch of food. I guess the fault here was late yung delivery ng second batch of food. siguro kulang talaga yung number of pax na pinareserve nila sa caterer then nagluto sila ng food para pandagdag sa buffet. Another is they provided beers and spirits pero kulang so we ended up buying our own booze. hehe. This is not a big deal naman for me or im not even mad since I understand my friend. ang importante is we're there to show our love for the couple. I just share my experience here so that others can take note that all invited guests should be included sa food ng caterer. Food is one of the things that the guests will remember.

Kung wala coordinator we can always ask for help from our closest kin or friends kesa nga naman gastos pa. Para lang sana organized.  :(

Kung di maiwasan sana kahit may chips lang or biscuits during program sana.

^Nakakalungkot yan sis.

Naglunch ako bago umalis sa bahay, nagpa-salon and all.

Pasintabi sa ikinasal at ikakasal pero yun talaga masasabi ko, I know bad yun pero I did my part as a guest.

- wag invite yung walang manners
- gawin interesting yung program

Sana di kmi gutumin or maybe i'll just bring water and biscuit/or anything light na pwede ilaman sa sikmura.

Eto talaga yung pinakainiiwasan ko. Kaya ngayon palang nagiisip na ako ng light snacks namin while waiting for the couple. So kung gusto na pagantayin ang guests, at least provide light snacks and water para hindi naman sila maging kawawa.

After reading the last few posts nireview ko yung timeline that my coord proposed - parang split in half yung program. The dances will happen before the food, the toasts after. I think ok naman like that.

My cousin had a sit down dinner and they did the program in between courses so it was perfect. I think mahirap gawin yun with buffet kasi di controlled yung flow.

My mom recently nag-ninang. Sabi nya the food was cold and konti lang yung food. Kasi buffet yung dinner tapos yung VIP table may servers. Not sure yet how to make sure everyone gets enough food since we have a similar set up.

^Kami sis after entrance, cake cutting and wine drinking dinner na agad pero buffet din kami. The rest of the program after dinner na.

Iniisip ko nga sis na pag 200 guests kaba dapat 200 pax of buffet lang yung iaavail sa catering or may pasobra to make sure na hindi magkulang pagkaen? Eto yung worry ko, yung magkulang yung food.

I don't think kailangan ng pa-sobra sa food. Kasi some guests will eat less than others so it should balance out. Of course it depends din on your supplier... sayang kasi if di maubos yung food or sobrang sobra. Di naman nila marerecycle, malamang they have to dispose of it sayang lang.

Horror story yang gutuman portion. PINAKA iiwasan ko talaga yan at all costs, kesehodang mamigay kami ng biscuits and chocolates + bottled water before and after the ceremony, for the crew meals I plan to get breakfast and lunch dahil 2PM wedding ko so early breakfast and early lunch nalang para full ang crew and kami din. After the ceremony, as soon as the guests arrive I want them to be served the appetizers na or soup a thing that my Caterer and I agreed, sa program daw nila una talaga ang kainan. Luckily our Host/Coordinator has a very good reputation na di mo daw agad gustong uwian. But if so, I'm sure naman uuwe yung mga medyo distant relatives na or friends, mahalaga sakin our family and closest friends. My wedding is in Tagaytay so I won't mind kung meron man umuwe after the kainan and part of the program. Malayo and traffic.  :)

Di ako masyado worried about uwian kasi DW and controlled namin transport. We have vans na mag hahatid sa kanila to their hotels.

Important sa akin masarap and enough na pagkain. Ang family ko sobrang mareklamo, never pa umuwi mommy ko sa wedding na nagsabi sya na 100% happy with food. Laging may pintas. Sinabi ko na sa kanya now pa lang, wag syang mareklamo or mapintas on the wedding day dahil magkakasamaan lang kami ng loob.

we didn't expect na matatraffic kami on the way to the reception (pati guest na traffic). may mga nakahanda na kami na snacks na sinerve sa table nila plus starbucks. Ang tagal bago kami nakadating so yung Host ko pinaserve na agad yung Salad and Soup plus the appetizer na shanghai (bad trip ako dito kahit last minute ako nagpachange to Nachos eh di sinunod ng caterer). ang sabi ng guests ko ang tagal namin dumating pero di naman sila nagutom kasi may mga food naman. Ayoko naman oa sa cocktail food while waiting for us kasi baka di na sila makakain sa main dinner. Yung program ko din short lang it lasted for 1 hour lang halos. Kaya hindi ako nagpaplay ng madaming videos. Ayun wala naman nag eat and run.

Thank you sis. Oo nga tsaka since we have light snacks, hindi naman ganun kagutom guests kaya hindi magkukulang.

sis Rory_Lorelie_Gilmore TRUE sis! Me too i'll be distributing crew meals for bfast, lunch and dinner kasi out of town kami and the suppliers will be staying in the same hotel din and 3PM wedding ko. May bfast and lunch din for family and entourage who'll be there during wedding preps. I will also provide biscuits and bottled water for the suppliers esp P/V team . I went to a wedding once and I saw na yung mga P/V teams pa bumibili ng water and biscuit nila. Ayaw ko ng ganun.

I'm really glad that there's a thread like this para alam ko rin gagawin later on sa wedding namin ni H2B.  :)

I think it's only gonna be bad or it could be the worst wedding ever if the bad stuff accumulated and surpassed the good ones that day.

Siguro share ko na lang mga naencounter ko as a guest in the weddings I've attended para maiwasan rin:

  • -----Bitin yung snacks na nasa table habang hinihintay groom and bride. Tumalikod lang kasi kami saglit to catch up with one of the guests on the other table (literally 5min lang talaga), naubusan na kami kaagad ng snacks. The snacks do not have to be heavy cause we're trying to reserve the hunger for the nice dinner, pero siguro dagdagan na lang amount, lalo na kung lahat ng nasa table puro guys.
  • -----May nakita ako na upset yung ibang bisita sa reception (particularly the Primary Sponsors) kasi there's a reserved seat for them at the VIP table, pero yung mga plus one nila nakahiwalay. First time pa magmeet ng ibang sponsors so di nila tuloy masyadong naenjoy yung program.
  • -----If you have a wedding of 100 or even 150 or more, at kaya pa ng budget, siguro it's best to have an OTD coordinator. Di rin natin alam kung anong mangyayari that day. There was a wedding that I attended where the bride and groom had to pick up the flowers on the wedding day itself wearing their dress and suit. Karamihan ng entourage nasa church na and the MOH, Best Man, family and others who can help are busy with other aspects of the wedding. This happened an hour before the ceremony so you could imagine the stress.
  • -----There were some who did not get to go home with a wedding souvenir so assign someone to distribute them and make sure they don't miss anyone. There were two weddings na either dumoble or di nakakuha ng souvenirs... Of course some were a bit disappointed.

None of these weddings are bad. In fact, sobrang natuwa ako sa lahat ng weddings na na-attend ko and I had a favorite moment from each of those weddings. ;) Sakin as a guest, as long as the bride and the groom are happy, masaya na rin ako. :)
