Nung nag-apply din ako sis last year yung nasa katabi kong window ang hinanap yung bagong birth cert. Di siya nakakuha kasi need daw kumuha ng new birth certificate. They know na luma kasi yearly nag-iiba color ng paper.

di ba walang expiration yun sis kasi permanent docs yan?

Dapat naman talaga wala expiration yan eh, ang mahal pa naman saka yung hassle na kumuha dba, kaso lahat na nape-peke kaya yearly iniiba nila ang color ng paper.

Question mga sis, medyo na confuse ako sa kwento ng friend ko eh..

Di ba the birth certificate is only needed for new applications right and if the applicant is a minor (renewal) ? Not for renewals ng adult? Kasi she was insisting I need to bring my birth ulit. Sabi ko no changes naman sa name or anything. Kaya I decided to ask you guys na lang.

And for IDs, I saw the requirements, so pwede na Drivers lang and the passport (epassport) if renewal right as your ids?

But... from this link
https://www.dfa.gov.ph/100-passport-information/141-list-of-acceptable-ids-at-least-1-of-the-following, the digitzed postal id is still accepted.  So its so confusing..

My problem now is I only have DL, wala pa rin until now kasi voters ko. Will the epassports will suffice? TIA

^did they ask to see the receipt of your birth certificate?

hindi sis. pinasa ko lang sya as-is. hehe bilis ko nga lang nakakuha e, tapos umid lang id ko na dala.

^Sis  chicafabulosa for renewal kailangan pa din ng birth certificate. Personal experience namin ito ng Nanay ko. Senior citizen pa siya. Too bad yung issue niya sa birth certificate niya hindi pa naaayos ayun denied ang application. Yung first passport niya kasi long time ago pa as in hindi pa digital. Hindi naman sita frequent flyer. Dalhin mo nalang para sigurado.

Hi, has anyone tried to renew without an appointment?  Advise kasi ng agency na pumila nalang kami ng 12year old son ko since he's a minor.  From what I know, puwede to for 7 years old below lang.  Can anyone confirm this?  Thanks.

@chicafabulosa for renewal you only need a photocopy of page 2 of your epassport and valid ID. DL is accepted, yun kasi ginamit ko. Nagparenew kasi ako last feb 17 hindi na kailangan ng birth cert renewal lang naman kasi.

Sa minor ang alam ko na talagang kailangan ang birth cert new applicant or renewal.

@byutijunkie hindi kayo papayagan sis. For below 7 years old lang ang pwedeng walk-in applicants. Ikaw yung nagpost last time na nagkaproblema diba? 1 month valid ang appointment mo. check mo yung papers niyo, may tatak naman yun until when ka pwedeng bumalik.

Hubby (renewal) - no ids or docs, just the old passport
ME (renewal + change name) - Marriage cert and old passport
baby - birth cert

Thanks sisses... ako rin naguluhan ako sa friend ko. Twice na ako nagrenew eh, di naman ako hiningan ng birth cert. Last renew ko photocopy lang old epassport ko and two valid ids. But since my old passport is considered id na rin, i think enough na yung dl ko.. weird yun lang id ko now haha.. if dumating yung viters ko, 2 na sila

Feb 10 sat kami nagrenew (dfa megamall)

Hubby (renewal) - old passport, sss id, birth cert original pero di na kinuha
Me (renewal & change surname) - old passport, sss id, orig marriage cert (psa) kinuha ito..
Mom in law (renewal) - old passport, psa birthcert (actually cert of no record from municipal yun sa kanya) kaya kinuha yun original..

feb 24 sat pick up namin sa dfa mega ng 10am, walang 10mins kami nag intay.. nakuha na agad namin..

Hello mga sis.. question naman
We booked a tour for Thailand this March 3 -6 then a diy trip to Cambodia  on March 6-9 pero babalik kami ulit ng Thailand on March 10 because dun kami nakabook pabalik ng PH.
I found out just today na August 2018 ang expiration ng Passport ko.
Mukhang hindi ako makakaalis.
May way ba na maextend yung Passport ko?  Or makakatravel pa ba ako?

^aaaww bukas na pala ang travel mo sis ah. Sayang naman..Bakit now mo lang napansin expiry date ng passport mo. Pag kasi nagbubook ng plane ticket or tour normally tinatanong kung anong expiry date ng passport natin bago makabook then di mo mabubook pag below 6mos lang validity upon the travel date na gusto mo. Sasabihan ka nang magrenew.
Pero malay mo maswerte ka makalusot ka. Think positive.

@traxx.. oh no! But you know what my mom last year was able to travel to hong kong and 3 mos na lang expired na passport nya. Oo nga sis hush hush normally when you do the booking they would ask for the expiration of your passport but i think baka online ginawa ni sis traxx. Ako kasi when i book i do it over the phone pag pal para kasama na yung travel tax pag nagbook ako and di na ako pipila sa travel tax counter sa airport

Sa Shadow Travel kami nagpabook ng ticket and tours namin. Wala naman sinabi about my passport. I was reading sa mga blogs about sa trip kasi may free time pa kami sa Thailand, dun ko lang nabasa na may 6 months daw dapat.
I was trying to email yung DFA pero lahat ng emails nila sa site eh not working na.
I'm planning to call later, baka may way naman kahit ma extend lang sya kahit 1 month lang

You can try. But normally they only extend passport pag emergency cases and need to travel like medical condition, death etc.

^^ naku emails wont work sis.better call them or magwalk in ka mismo sa nearest dfa site.. Balitaan mo kami sis kung makalipad ka bukas. malay mo diba.
Sayang kasi eh. Not everyone can travel ha.

Ikwento ko lang din yung nangyari sa isa kong climb buddy nun magclimb kami sa Mt. kota kinabalu, malaysia.. Nalaman naman nya ahead na less than 6mos na lang ang validity nun passport nya. But less than a month na nya nalaman..So nagrenew agad sya. Pero sobrang tight din ng sked. Mismong date ng travel namin yun release ng new passport... So sobrang aga nasa dfa manila na sya hoping na makukuha nya ang passport nya at makahabol sya sa flight. E sa clark airport ang departure namin. 4hrs fron manila.. Buti kung sa NAIA lang..so ayun hindi sya nakahabol.. Sayang lahat ng effort, time at money.. Kasi di ka din basta-basta makakabook ng accommodation sa Mt.Kinabalu. 3mos prior to your travel date ka magbu-book sa kanila. At ang daming requirements. May medical certificate pa ata na required before you can climb the mountain.

^aw sis  traxxex21 try mo nalang baka malusot tom. Charge to experience nalang na next time always check your passport expiration. Ako nga this april pa mag eexpire passport ko pero nagrenew na ako agad netong feb kasi may travels ako this year. Mahirap din kasi mag habol.

Hello mga sis! update lang.

Sabi ng DFA sa BOI daw yung case ko, so I called BOI. As per them, valid pa naman daw ang passport ko and true na dapat 6 months ang validity pa nya. however, pede naman daw ako lumipad IF pinayagan ako ng airlines. It's the airlines discretion kung papayagan akong umalis, kasi sa side ng BOI, OK to travel ako, esp. ASEAN country naman daw ang pupuntahan ko and complete ako sa documents plus guided pa yung tour ko.

I will call the airline today. sana lang wag ako pagpasapasahan ng BOI, DFA at ni airline

^i think you should also call the embassy of the country you are going to kung pwede kasi baka ma hold ka sa immigration nila doon. may mga countries kasi na hindi mahigpit may mga countries naman na strict ang rule nila sa 6 months validity. just to be on the safe side and for your own peace of mind.
