^^Not necessarily. Noli De Castro was chair of HUDCC during Arroyo's term. Arroyo was DSWD chair during Erap's term. It is not unusual for elected official from other parties to be appointed to the cabinet but it is not forced too.

^^Well, the question is does that really work? I mean, look at the US. You don't vote for the VP, right? It's automatic that whoever wins dala na rin nya yung VP. In Canada, you don't really vote for the Prime Minister. And the PM appoints cabinet member from his own party. Mas streamlined kasi pag ganon, di ba? What I am trying to say here is that there's a conflict in the political values especially between Duterte and Leni. But then of course, the politics in the Philippines is different. We vote for the personality instead of the political party.

I support the War on Drugs pero nakakabahala ang mga patayan araw araw.

I just really hope malessen ang mga patayan araw araw.  And if only maging katulad ni PNP Chief Bato lahat ng pulis e di sana mas maayos talaga Pilipinas.

The intention to clean the country is definitely good pero sana NOT at the expense ng inosenteng mga tao at hindi naviviolate ang basic human rights natin.

if we follow closely the senate hearings on kerwin, dayan, delima and all, we'll realize it won't be that easy. sa tingin ko nga, si bato nalang yung high official sa pnp na pwede mong pagkatiwalaan. and everybody's connecting the increase in killings to president duterte's drug war. kasi nga na encourage nga daw nya. in a way, i understand this point of view. pero ano ba dapat gawin? makiusap ka sa mga druglords and sindikato na tumigil na sila? or hayaan nalang and let's just take care of our own children and pray na hinde sila maadik in the future? i mean, how do you go about cleaning our country from this war? im disappointed and sad about this drug war. really, duterte has swallowed much more than he could chew and all i could think is, im happy its not me in his shoes, fighting for a drug-free country for my son. kaya hinde ko magawang magtampo sa kanya or kay bato.  sana lang mga pilipino, instead na mag incite ng change of leadership, maging mabuting pilipino nalang muna at wag magpagamit.

If yes then make them accountable. Pero itong war on drugs masalimoot talaga to.

^^right you are sis springblossom.

^kaya nga sis yelle. dahil sa senate hearings, instead na magfocus sa trabaho nila, andun  nasa hearing. and taga davao ka din pala :) both my parents grew up in davao and most of my relatives are still there. they've gone through the same stage. tiis nalang daw muna. kaya kahit anong nega comment about duterte, may tiwala pa din ako sa kanya.

btw, i have a question. after the senate hearing, anong mangyayari? hinde ba pwedeng direcho na sa korte for prosecution? sayang ang oras at nabibigyan pa ng opportunity tong ibang senador na magpaawa or mag grand standing.

I didn't vote for him because of his allegiance with Marcos and GMA. With what's happening, I think I made the right choice. Well, this is just me.

But since he's the president, we are obliged to support him (though it is also our duty to correct him.) Okay naman ang programs nya. I just hope the EJK be stopped. I fear that sooner or later, someone or a group might actually abuse the power. I find it weird that some would comment na yung mga ayaw daw sa ejk e mga users.

Not to mention he is being very friendly to some leftists elements in society but yeah others will just accuse any critic of Duterte of being Addict agad or Troll..

See it works both ways ... puwede din tayo mag generalize.
 http://davaotoday.com/main/politics/ndf-leader-duterte-guarantees-to-revoke-edca/

Quote
DAVAO CITY, Philippines ? President Rodrigo Duterte guaranteed to Communist leaders that he will pursue an independent foreign policy and will revoke the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement with the United States.

?That?s what we really talked about on Friday evening,? said Benito Tiamzon in an interview with Davao Today on Saturday at the Peace Forum and Assembly held at the University of the Immaculate Conception here.

Tiamzon said they asked Duterte whether he would revoke the EDCA.

?He gave his guarantee that he will revoke it,? he said.

Tiamzon said they also asked Duterte on his stand on pursuing an independent foreign policy, particularly with its policy with the US.

?Sabi niya tiyak yun na course of action habang siya ay Presidente (He assured that it will be his course of action while he is President),? he said.

Tiamzon also said that the phone conversation between Trump and Duterte has recently been a ?normal? thing, as both new state leaders expressed well wishes to one another.

Quote
Meanwhile, Tiamzon said that Duterte?s alliance with China and Russia is a ?wise policy? for the country.

Independent foreign policy pero kaalyado ang Russia and China?  More like just shift of alliance,

Duterte should not listen to these rebels demands they have killed Filipinos no need to pander to murderers.

Tiamzon also said this.
Quote
However, Tiamzon said there is also a danger of replacing ?an imperialist master with a new one.?

Quote
He said the alliances between China and Russia should create favorable advantages for the Philippines to build its own industries.

How?

It is very obvious naman at paulit ulit ng nasabi na talamak talaga droga sa Pinas. Like what I said I support the war on drugs. Sino ba naman ang ayaw ng Drug free (if there's such thing) na bansa but never at the expense of innocent people and defying human rights.

Kung nangyari sa iba there's no assurance that we will be spared kahit law abiding citizen pa.

I really hope and pray the PNP will do something about their abusive policemen and EJKs na nangyayari.

dyan pumutok yung Globe Asiatique Corporation scam...

I know right. Whatever happened to it, I wonder? Noli De Castro is still very much present.

^^Well, the question is does that really work? I mean, look at the US. You don't vote for the VP, right? It's automatic that whoever wins dala na rin nya yung VP.

Well, we have to work with what we have. US and Canada have a different political and government structure with us. We have to change the constitution if we want it to be like US or Canada. However, even if President and VP, gets elected from the same party, I doubt it will be of any difference. A lot of politicians are switching from one party to another.

so sino nag sisinungaling Pulis o si Zombie pusher?

It seems to me that the only problem we have with Duterte is the EJK, tama ba ako? So, dapat ba syang bumaba because of that? And if he did, do you think Leni will do a good job? Let's be honest here without being on side of whoever. Meron bang qualified to lead our country?  Yung totoo lang. Walang okrayan. Parang the enemy of my enemy is my friend? Ganon? Playground mentality...LOL!  I was born during the Martial Law era so hindi ko gusto yang mga Marcos. But that doesn't mean I will support Leni and/or Mar. Because let's face it, palpak yang si Mar at si Leni...well, haven't really heard of her before the election. I don't know her accomplishments.

It's not EJK. Wala namang mga protests when the EJKs surfaced. It was the Marcos burial. And please hindi ibig sabihin kapag anti Marcos eh pro-Aquino/LP. At hindi ibig sabihin if pro Leni eh pro-Aquino/LP

^Oh so mas mababaw pala?

So, dapat ba syang bumaba because of that? So, mas qualified ba si Leni. I want to know the answer.

And please don't say it's for national healing. Healing doesn't happen when one party doesn't even acknowledge the wrong they did.

^excuse me but it's not a conspiracy theory goal but to serve justice. BBM won, fair and square. The urban and rural unknown newbie Robredo ALLEGEDLY won by a very slim margin. I believe she won't even win as Senator if she run for that position.. Kung makakuda naman yung iba dito as if SUPERMAJORITY si Leni. Get real. And I am a so-called martial law baby, everyone i know, except the communist symphatizers, have seen how the PH is in the Marcos era and how the Aquinos turned our country into a two family war with them as ALWAYS the saints according to their own truth.

Kids have been judging the Marcoses as if the conditions now are similar to then. At that time, there was the Cold War. Every country in Southeast Asia were plagued by the threat of communism. A communist coup happened in Indonesia, Malaysia and even in Singapore and of course Vietnam. All these supported by Maoist China. They were exporting communist ideology and weapons to arm them to neighboring countries and their frustration is the PH who eventhough at the brink of communism, by infiltrating its universities and the intellectuals, they could not crack because of a staunch US ally in Marcos.

It is now a distant memory to kids and they will NEVER understand the situation then, but I just hope when they look at history, they should also look at how many the NPA, have killed. Take note, NPA is still very much present in the provinces and in the urban areas as LEFTISTS.

The parallelism to the present is that, then, it was the I would admit paranoia of the NPA communists to now with drug pushers. The left have used all propaganda to associate every killing too as perpetrated by marcos like now with duterte.

Marcos VP Fernando LOPEZ, too. Look into his history, and ABS-CBN (and MERALCO, Maynilad, bayantel, skycable, first phil. holdings, power generation etc before selling some of them) with Marcos and how they have manipulated public opinion.

Also, look at Robredo herself and her unremarkable rise to power. The writings is in the wall, we just have to be not enamored with showbiz glitz and a play to emotions and use our head more.

wala namang sinabi si PRRD na ultimate goal ay ibalik ang mga marcoses nor he was trying to project the return of the marcoses.

Itong FEM burial naayon naman sa batas and there are a lot Filipinos too na they see the late FEM as their hero or a great leader especially sa north, tahimik nga lang sila.

wow so plano pala ni duterte ipalit sa kanya si bbm hahaha. this is funny!

i don't know kung napapansin nyo din but duterte often mentioned na kung mapatalsik sya or mapatay, we will then have a mahinhin vp, thereby acknowledging leni as his vp.

some people are accusing him of making bbm a president dahil sa sinabi nya sa china. kung yun sana plano nya, si bbm na sana kinuha nyang running mate last election since nilapitan sya nito. but he chose cayetano. totoo hinde porke anti marcos burial, pro aquino kana or pro liberal na agad. same din sa mga nagsasabi na kung ok ka lang sa marcos burial, automatic anti democracy kana, anti human rights, and pro-dictatorship.

people have different ways of healing their pain and moving on from their ugly past. some forgive and forget, some want justice like an eye for an eye. tanungin nyo yung mga asawang pinagtaksilan, mga batang inabuso, pamilya ng mga missing or murdered persons (qualified ako dito). but we can never impose our values on anyone. and sabi nga ni duterte pwede tayong magrally all we want but as per law, pwedeng mailibing si marcos doon which was confirmed by our supreme court. now, let's stop throwing tantrums just because what we want did not happen. we should act like civilized people and make another appeal to the Supreme Court.
