The name of the name is gamitan. And the best thing to do really is to be in the middle. We can distance ourselves from America but don't burn bridges? That's not good! I think he has a personal grudge against the Americans but he has to remember that he is not representing himself only. He is representing us. Medyo preno muna na kaunti at wag madala sa bugso ng damdamin, sabi nga nila.

Just by saying "we will sever our military and economic ties with US" is insult enough. Dapat hindi na nagdagdag ng unnecessary remarks si D30 na kesyo "america has lost". Parang kinakanti nya yung tenga ng US. Obviously, egging the "enemy" is one of his many political tactics. However, it's just a matter of time that someone calls his bluff.
Isa ako sa mga tao na gustong kumalas ang Pilipinas sa impluwensya ng US. Pero hindi ako sang-ayon sa mga insulto na dinagdag ni D30.

I think PRRD is on the right track. His strategy is working really well that even the leaders of the most powerful nations listen to him. Sabi nga naman niya sa presscon niya sa china  kung hindi siya nagbitaw ng mga maaanghang na salita hindi siya papansinin o pakikinggan. Sooner or later, the country will pay for it. And only time will tell if his admin will be good or bad for the country. So... but I understand the optimists. It's our country that will remain and we don't wish it failure, while presidents come and go.

I own a small outsourcing company and most of my clients are the from the US and EU we have a really good working relationship, we don't discuss politics etc.. business as usual pa rin. I don't see PRRD's statements as a threat to my business. IMO.

I understand why Pres. Duterte has to talk that way, but it wouldn't hurt to turn it down a notch sometimes. We can all agree or disagree on how he talks.  But one thing is for sure, he is the most hard working president of all time, and his intentions are always there to see to it that we Filipinos will have a better future under his leadership...

I remember nung kakalabas lang ng result ng arbitration case nag suggest ang US na mag bitaw ng strong statement ang Pilipinas laban sa China, mukhang nag backfire sa kanila. According to PRRD may dalawang options lang tayo: it's either we go to war or talk.

Damaged Houses

There are 6,308 damaged houses in Regions CAR, I, II, and III; of which, 5,209 are partially damaged and 1,099 are totally damaged.

Stranded Passengers

To date, there are no more stranded passengers in the ports of Tabaco, Albay; Pasacao, Camarines Norte; and Real, Quezon.

Assistance Provided

To date, a total of ₱14,072,830 worth of relief assistance has been provided to the affected families. Of the said amount, the Department provided ₱10,144,496 while respective LGUs provided a total of ₱3,584,254.

Status of Prepositioned Resources: Stockpile and Standby Funds
The Central Office (CO), affected Field Offices (FOs) and National Resource Operations Center (NROC) have a total stockpile and standby funds amounting to ₱1,101,339,177.36 with breakdown as follows:

a. Standby Funds

There is a total of ₱745,729,683.18 standby funds at the CO and FOs. Of the said amount, ₱723,119,508.87 is the available Quick Response Fund at the CO.

b. Stockpiles

There is also a total of 297,566 Family Food Packs (FFPs) amounting to ₱109,923,954.91 and available Food and Non-Food Items (FNFIs) amounting to ₱245,685,539.27.

I must agree that I am not pleased with his foul mouth. I don't know but I think, being friendly and in good terms with china is a strategy. We'll never know when the next war would be and we need to play safe with china. We are a US colony and pag nag pledge tayo ng support, magiging battle ground lang tayo and I don't think US is capable of defending us. US is yung kaibigan mong mahirap pero nagpoportray na mayaman sila. We may not fully understand his decisions right now but in time, everything will make sense. Tignan na lang natin ang middle east ngayon most esp saudi and syria. Paubos na ang oil ng saudi. Ang nagbebenefit pa diyan US dahil binebenta nila ng mas mahal. Sila din naman ang nag create ng ISIS dahil kailangan nila ng war to make money. Ang hirap kasi masyado self righteous mga pinoy at puro reklamo. Ilang taon na yung garapal na corruption puro satsat wala naman nagagawa natiis eh tapos etong inaayos andami pa din satsat. Tayo ang nagpapahirap sa bansa natin sa totoo lang. Corruption. Walang disiplina. Minsan nakakahiya na lang din maging pilipino dahil sa ganitong ugali. Perfect example talaga tayo ng crab mentality. Minsan try din naman natin mag trust sa leaders natin. Si Pnoy andami dami sinasabi sa kanya, gumanda economy, yung di pa din maganda ang nakikita. Wag tayo masyado perfectionist. And where did you get this bit of information? Actually oil price now is cheaper. US has been fairly self sufficient in the recent years because they were able to unlock oil from shale rocks (fracking). No need to depend on Middle East for oil.  In fact, they have enough capacity to actually affect the price. (It is estimated to have offered gas security to the US and Canada for about 100 years). Same thing with China. They explored other countries such as Venezuela and other African nations. At hindi paubos ang oil ng Middle East nations. They've been producing more than enough that there have been talks before of putting oil production caps to avoid the prices from getting cheaper. There's too much supply now vs the demand.

It's not simply true that oil is being sold more expensively. Sa atin lang mahal because since we import and the price is dependent on the Php-$ exchange rate

I was listening to Thinking Pinoy's FBcast last night. Go and check it out, you will learn a lot of things. With that saying, it sounds like Duterte is smarter than I think. I still am not comfortable burning bridges but we'll see. Naloka ako dun sa last part when they were discussing the USAid. Turns out about 1% lang na GDP ng Pinas ang natatanggap natin. Tapos mukhang US really wanted Mar Roxas and Leni to win. Kasi yung foundation ng tatay ni Mar at yung province ni Leni ang nakinabang sa mga huling pinadala. Kaloka!

i was so busy i missed visiting this thread. i was uncomfortable too about this US issue but really, some filipinos are just overrracting. daming feeling lawyers and feeling expert on foreign policies na nagkakalat sa social media.

akala ng iba masisira image ng pilipinas dahil kay duterte after china but watch his japan visit. and honestly, my colleagues here in dubai ask me about duterte and they like him as a leader. our president got *alls and maybe this time, we can be better. some asked about ejk and the drug war and when you started to discuss it with them, they listened. positive naman feedback nila and this is coming from people na hinde mga pabebe. sa sobrang prangka, hinde ka na lang maoffend.

on china, well, they will invest millions in the philipines. aayaw pa ba tayo? and in the first place, majority stockholder na ng ngcp ay chinese. and please, lets remember that china will not honor the arbitrary ruling on the south china sea. they have made it clear to the whole wide world, wala silang pakialam anong sabihin ng UN tribunal basta kanila ang buong south china sea. syempre, ang pilipinas ipaglalaban din natin yung karapatan natin kasi nasa economic zone natin yung area na tinatawag nating west philippine sea. but china would not give in. remember what they did after the ruling came out? ayun dinagdagan mga chinese na nagpapatrol doon. yung fishermen natin hinde pa rin free makapangisda. so ano ba solution? war, assuming stronger countries would help us? baka after ng war, natunaw na buong pilipinas. i do think the best solution is bilateral talks. and i dont think porke kinaibigan masyado ni duterte ang china, chummy2x na sila for real or binenta na tayo sa china. at kung gagamitin lang tayo ng china, di gamitin din natin sila ng bongga. basta walang pakialaman ng internal affairs because time will come we won't need them anymore.

as for the us, they need us also. sa tingin nyo, may nagsara na ba na mga call centers dyan? and actually, some investors have been transferring their interests in the past years to other asian countries including china and Vietnam because of cheaper labor costs. at the end of the day, its just business, nothing personal. problema kasi talaga nating mga pinoy, sobra tayong emotional, lahat pinipersonal. ewan ko ba kung positive or negative trait natin yan. at may nabanggit din about US intervention on the oil prices,  well there's more to it than what US media have been telling the world.

kaya sana kung hinde tayo expert sa foreign policies or international relations, careful tayo sa mga rants natin sa social media kasi tayo sumisira sa bansa natin eh. i know our president is tactless but we're not actually helping if we keep on focusing on his tactless remarks when there have been many good things being done by his administration. if you think you dont agree with the drug war, just check what tugade, manny piñol, gina lopez, etc have been doing these past 3 months. 3 months palang pero andami ng ganap. now, yung ginagawa ng dswd which is proper implementation of the plans made by the previous officials. really, in my entire lifetime, ngayon ko lang naramdaman ang sobrang pagka hyper ng mga government officials natin. ngayon lang din ulit ako nagtiwala sa mga pulis at naging hopeful for the Philippines.

though i really wish to filter duterte's mouth. it's really frustrating! but pwede ba, wag na lang sana nating tulungan ikalat sa mundo pagiging tactless nya. ewan ko ba bakit yung ganyan lang nahaha highlight sa media. yung masamang ugali ng nanay natin, tatay or asawa, pinagkakalat ba natin? kahit alam na ng buong barangay, hinde pa din natin sila sinisiraan kasi syempre pamilya yan eh. sana ganyan din tayo as filipinos. lets just love our country a little bit more.
