When I left the Phils in 2012, my salary was just PHP13,000 in a bank. I moved to Dubai and got a salary of AED4,000 which is 3x of what I was earning sa Pilipinas. Although malaki ito sa palagay 'ko that time, malaki rin ang gastos. But still, may pangsavings na halos buong sahod mo na sa Pilipinas. Make sure lang na kung tatanggap ka ng offer, may masesave ka pa after ma-less lahat ng expenses.

Not sure where you (TS) are headed but I'll just give a run down on life in San Francisco:

Fixed Monthly Expenses - $2,000-$3,000 depending on your lifestyle if you live alone.

It doesn't matter where you studied in the Philippines because it's an unknown school. You will start at the bottom and have to work yourself up. Employers value local work experience here. There's a lot of retail and service related job opportunities but it doesn't pay well enough to survive in the city. Not much discrimination for Asian but you can tell that there's a preference with White people.

My suggestion is take the first available job and jump to another company after a year or once you receive a better offer. Don't think of loyalty. People who earn more tend to jump companies a lot. The only downside is that your resume won't look good.

People are very friendly and the environment is awesome. About 90% of the people follow the law and life is easy once you've gotten accustomed to it. You can be who you want without being judged by anyone. It's the land of the free after all.
