US TV: Stranger Things

Loved the series. The kids were perfect and it was fun counting all the film references and homages.


My only beef with it was Winona's acting. I love her and so glad shes in it, but once in a while, you go: Hey! Its Lelaina from Reality Bites!" or maybe thats one of the 'fun' nostalgic things they slid in there. hah.

Just finished Season 1 on Netflix.  I super loved it.  I actually tried to watch it with my kids pero they kinda got freaked out haha.  So i just finished it all by myself. 
 
I love the cast.  Galing.  My fave kid is Dustin kasi super cute niya.  Of course, given na I'd like Will too.  Superlike Winona here too, ang galing niya as a frantic mom gusto ko siyang i-hug haha. 

Can't wait for Season 2.

This show is no. 1 in US TV ratings. Glad Winona is back big time. I love her eversince.

Mr. Robot and The Night Of are two other shows I follow. Notable, critically-acclaimed shows that are also top-raters!

Which makes you feel sad for the quality of the shows and VIEWERS in the Philippines, with the prevalent of soap operas on primetime. I mean, every freaking night on weekdays, yun at yun, thin plot, super stretched storyline. I can't help to compare kahit incomparable, sorry.

Winona is astounding here.  Sobrang draining ang acting - WHOA!  Gusto ko din yung mga batang cast.

Will binge watch the rest of the season tonight.

Just binge-watched this show. Actually, it was more like I watched an 8-hour movie in one sitting. The pacing is a little slow for me, but you can't NOT get sucked in into the that 80s time setting. Very nostalgic and it makes you yearn for those times. The kids, of course, are totally lovable!

Naku sis, super fan ako ni Winona. The iconic star of the 90's!! Thanks for saying na she did great acting-wise. That's how I felt too watching this series.

Left to a lesser actress, the role of the anguished mom could be played either dolefully or heroically, but Ryder brings a welcome delirium to it. She gets to employ her wild-eyed look once again in this role, as she begins to believe that her missing son is communicating with her in supernatural ways. She’s harried and crazed, a woman who was already teetering on the edge before her son went missing—but she’s grounded enough in her grief that she doesn’t lose the audience.

Natapos ko rin siyang panoorin last weekend.  There's a season 2 daw in the works.  Ang dami kasing questions sa last episode niya katulad nang sino at bakit sinundo si Hop?  Anong mangyayari doon sa larva? Is Eleven still alive?

May kurot yung last scene ni Eleven.  Ah, puppy love!    I am not into sci-fi materials but I liked this one.

feel like that was a weak part and a plot hole. wala namang special relationship -- if any at all -- si Hopper kay Eleven para malaman niya at bigyan pa niya ng Eggos si Eleven sa ending.

^maybe it has to do with Hopper's deal with the people in the facility?  Remember when someone picked him up from the hospital?  Feeling ko may insider info na siya or something. 

What I'm looking forward to aside from El, are the others --sina One to Ten; as in nasaan na sila.  Yun nga lang from what I gathered, Season 2 will take place one year after so baka unlikely na maexplore pa yun.

Also, ano kaya yung mangyayari to those who actually went inside the Upside Down without protection...

I think Hopper is now part of the Hawkins company or whatever is left of it. Remember, sila lang ni Mommy Joyce (and Will) ang nakabalik successfully. On Hopper's first time, wala din syang suit nun eh kaya baka explorer na sya of that alternate dimension.

Medyo confused din ako dun sa Eggos kasi si El lang naman ang explicitly shown na gusto yung Eggos pero parang wala naman pinakita that Hopper knows about that part of El.

Kahit parang matanda na si Jonathan to be Wynona's son, may chemistry pa rin sila as mother-son ha.

I am not a fan of science fiction but I liked this a lot. Once again, Netflix has lured me into something I do not know I will like. Hehe.

Super loved it mga sis! Nostalgia to the highest level ang effect sakin haha! Parang nabalik yung mga napanood kong movies nung bata ako. Isa na dun yung et, when the kids were being chased tapos naka bike sila hehe. Pansin ko lang sa kids and teens, walang typical na gwapo or maganda. They all just look normal kids. Wala lang, napansin ko lang and i think part yun ng appeal nung series. Pag pinapanood ko siya naiisip ko how simple life was back then pero ang saya lol! And the soundtrack too is also great. It really takes you back haha! I can't wait for season two. And ano kaya mangyayari kay will? Kung magiging parang alien/monster na din ba siya? Si eleven din i wonder kung buhay pa siya at nasa upside down lang.

I was just surfing here a couple of hours ago to look for a good TV SERIES to watch. Grabe, I AM OFFICIALLY
HOOKED! I like the 80's setting!! made me wish a couple of times i experienced childhood like that in 80's where as
you could go out and play with your village friends. just strolling around with your bike and your friends. Ah, I find it really cool!
I am eagerly waiting for season 2! I wish I watched this earlier pupuntahan ko talaga si Eleven and tell her im one of you adult fans! lol
