alternatives to engagement ring??

Hello mga sis..

Not yet engaged w/ my BF, but marriage is something we've been actively talking about, and it seems that a wedding is likely to happen in 2 years, so engagement & wedding preps might happen next year na ( )

That said, do you guys have any suggestions to an engagement ring alternative? I'm not really jewelry person (in the rare occassion that i do wear jewelry, i find wearing rings the most annoying. Sagabal lang talaga haha). I even avoid wearing dressy watches  because parati ko nagagasgas yung face  Malikot lang talaga ako i guess hehe

Would be great if i could give my BF a heads up para naman he doesnt stress over the ring details & whatnot. TIA!

ayaw mo ng watch? may alam ako tig-isa sila ng binili in lieu of an engagement ring. ok rin yun i think at least hindi yung babae lang ang meron.

I don't think it is a requirement naman to have an engagement ring. I know some people who got engaged even without a ring, and they are now planning their wedding. And even some na derecho namamanhikan na. Pwede naman mapagusapan yan If you still want jewelry to represent your engagement, then why not a bracelet or necklace. or something that would really last as in kahit matanda na kayo e maittreasure mo pa din.

We're in the same boat! hindi rin ako mahilig sa jewelry... that's why i'm toying with the idea of getting "engagement tattoos" around the ring fingers instead That might be too extreme for some, but hey, it lasts forever too hehe

Also if your issue is hindi ka maalaga with expensive stuff, you might want to look into Qalo silicone rings.. My old gym coach wears this for his wedding bands. I don't think it's available locally though, but meron in Amazon

hmmmm I think a good alternative would be something that would appreciate in value, and can be passed on from generation to generation, and something that can be worn often also.

Perhaps a necklace or a watch would be a nice alternative. OR you can skip the engagement ring altogether =) and add the engagement ring budget to a very nice wedding ring, or a pair of earrings you can wear on your wedding day. =) OR pwede rin pang downpayment on a condo an engagement condo instead hehe.

Ganito rin ako nung una, ayaw ko talaga kasi I hindi ko hilig ang singsing, pwede pa earring or necklace.
Pero wala nadala ako sa peer pressure, more like family pressure kasi alam ko nag eexpect family ko, kaya sabi ko ki bf sige na nga, go na sa engagement ring.

So even though hindi pa binibigay sakin and nag wewedding preps na kami, I know na may singsing na nakaready si h2b Inisip ko na lang na ibibigay ko sa anak ko pag dating ng panahon

very well said sis that's what my hubs did - made a condo DP instead of a really expensive diamond ring hehe.. he is just kind enough to give me a small engagement ring though hehe

Onga di naman kailangan may engagement anything. Pinakamagandang gawin eh paghandaan yung marriage. Attend kayo mga seminars ganun.

Kung gusto mo talaga na may pagkakagastusan, magandang idea yung downpayment ng titirhan niyo. O tayo ng business o invest sa stocks/MF/UITF/retirement fund.

Wow an engagement condo could have been nice! My h2b took me took me to an engagement/anniversary trip  and then gave me a simple small ring too.

But what's good about jewelry is it appreciates. So it's actually a really good investment as well.

I know someone who asked for a designer bag instead. I don't know if that's something you would want but from what I remember, the bride said at least it was something she can use all the time (maybe she wasn't a jewelry person too)

But an engagement trip would also be nice
