Attended a chinese wedding last weekend. Over 1000 guests but the chinese emcee was very dry. I didnt even get his name. Maayos naman magsalita, formal but perhaps too formal. Did nothing to engage the crowd. Even when he was hosting the game, sobrang walang emotion yung participants, nakatayo lang, tas halatang scripted naman yung order of opening the prizes. Isa isa lang binigyan ng pera yung finalists nad even then walang nagcclap kahit 8k na yung binigay. Or maybe because it's such a big room and crowd din kaya ang hirap magfocus, parang walang nakikinig, kumakain lang.
Then he called the couple to give a message e di naman sila prepared. :/

It's so sad to see a huuuge and expensive otherwise beautiful wedding pero bored yung guests.
I've attended 850 pax wedding before na masaya and engaging, si Max Tiu yung host.

@meixin: Goodluck!! Hope everything goes smoothly I suggest you and your fiance write down everything you guys need on the day, so you won't forget anything!  My fiance forgot to bring our wedding bands, and I forgot to bring the seating plan, haha! Good thing it all worked out anyway

^Thank you! And nope, I don't think you need one. My fiance's side didn't prepare one. I just felt like making one so it'd be easier (since not all of our guests knew each other) -- but we ended up forgetting it at home anyway, haha. Everyone was able to find a seat eventually. Maybe just have some family members go a bit earlier, so they can help direct/assist people

^ Thanks Nokie! Anyway nangyari na rin eh. haha pero tingin ko kung ano na lang yun alam ko, hayaan ko na dun. Haha

^meixin, okay naman si Max. Siya yun emcee nung wedding ng brother ko eh. And mabait din siya.
Kaso now, I am torn kung sino ba okay na emcee. Gusto kasi nila ibang level ng Chinese literacy eh.
Eh si Max naman, okay din naman, magaling din naman magChinese, pero baka yun gusto nila is, yun parang yun may accent na pang China. Si father kasi ni h2b gusto si Jerome Go. Kaso naghahanap pa rin kami ng other options, in case hindi siya available sa date namin. Michael Lim naman, sabi nila hindi daw tumutupad sa napagkasunduan. Like, for example, pinagusapan niyo na 5 songs kakantahin pero pagdating sa wedding day, nawawala daw yun iba. Help!

Done na ako sa tinghun ko! Yess..! Happy naman lahat. In-hindsight nga lang medyo konti ata yung after reception pics namin ni h2b na kami lang dalawa. Pero during ceremony naman madami so I guess ok na din

Sam YG really?? Si Michael Lim naecounter ko sa isang association Christmas party, then yun nga nabother ako sa pagkakakanta niya.

Yes, this month alone naka attend ako ng 2 Sam YG weddings. Honestly, I don't think bagay siya sa chinese crowd. Medyo green jokes niya, nakikita mo nag cricringe yung ibang 'conservative' guest and he doesn't engage much sa audience. After ng jokes niya he will disappear na and babalik na siya sa games. Even his jokes are exactly the same. As in no joke, same ang monolog niya sa 2 weddings na yun! Funny naman siya e, sana he made an effort na ibahin jokes niya.

^Oo nga cannot imagine siya sa chinese weddings.. hindi ba din parang na out of place nun mga oldies lalo na't kung chinese madalas traditional pa din ang oldies...

Mga sis, may feedback ba kayo kay Willord as emcee?? Yung coordinator ko kasi is medyo advising na if kaya ko pa palitan si Willord, go.

I replied sa post before that a friend of mine said di daw ok si Willord. Now I know why. Sorry pero ang sagwa niya mag english. Sana nag mandarin & tagalog nalang siya. Matigas yung dila niya with a lot of words. "Nathing's gonna change my lav for yu. Yu outta know by naw how mats i lav yu." Napapa-cringe ako with every wrongly pronounced word. Mas matitiis pa yung arte ng kanta ni Michael kesa sa english niya.

^^ thanks for the feedback sis, kaya lang we decided to stick with him nalang kasi wala na ibang available to host on our wedding day  tsaka nagdown nadin kami sa kanya I'll pray for him nalang.. Haha
