Depende sa hotel pero parang I heard before na may iba na pag hindi naoccupy yung table parang may credit ka na table na pwede mo gamitin another time. Forgot saan yun.. But for me mas ok nang may sobrang space kaysa kulangin.. Baka mamya sinabi lang ngayon na di makakapunta tapos magchange ng mind, biglang di na kayo kasya sa 350pax.. Mas madali magadd ng tables nun kung nasa bigger ballroom :)

Thanks mga sis :) Yup, we decided to get the bigger ballroom na lang (bahala na haha). As per h2b, may mga hindi pa siya nasama sa initial list so most likely it won't go down to 350 guest.

Sis Meixin, I suggested the credit for the excess but ayaw nila. We have to consume everything that day sa food or if not we can buy wines and drinks that we can take home after.

fair enough na rin sis. at least sure ka na hindi kukulangin yung space nyo for the wedding in case mag balloon ang guest list :)

Speaking of guests, did you request RSVP for Chinese guests? We're afraid that if we have someone text or call them for rsvp the elders might get offended. Future MIL said they might daw. Kasi we had this experience before during the wedding of my fiance's sister, an auntie brought around 5 or 6 friends so they occupied almost 1 whole table. It was not so stressful for them since their venue was so big but with us, we have really have to limit the guests since our venue (Blue Leaf - Banyan) can only comfortably seat around 300 pax. We don't want to end up with guests having no seats.

Better if you personally call them and not just someone assigned. Or if medyo elder, have your parents call them :) Ako I'm still requesting RSVP, I just don't know if sasagutin. But at least yung sa side ko matatawagan ko naman. Yung sa side ni fiance ang hindi ko alam...
Side comment medyo weird naman that auntie..

^^We're asking for RSVPS, but like Meixin said, I'm not sure if they'll actually RSVP. But I'm going to leave that to my parents to figure out. They're their guests anyway hehe.

I think for my siblings' weddings in the past, my parents just called their guests to confirm if they were attending or not -- it shouldn't be a problem if it's your parents (or someone older) calling their friends to confirm.

What if dun sa invitation diba nilalagyan dun ng "we have reserved ___ seats" di ba nasusunod yun since indicated na ilan lang invited?

^The auntie naman initially asked to bring a friend kasi she's single kawawa naman daw siya walang kasama kaya lang isang barkada ang dinala hahaha.

Ladies, thank you! That's probably the best thing to do, just ask for RSVP and if they don't reply then ask our parents to call.

Sis mloveg, I don't know nga with MIL she said for those who we will give invitation addressed to the whole family (e.g. Mr. and Mrs. ____ and family) we should leave the "we have reserved ____" part blank. She's the one very particular with the Chinese traditions etc kaya if not too outrageous yung mga gusto niya or ayaw ipagawa follow nalang so no issue hehe :)

@nokie: I think leaving the "we have reserved ___ seats for you" blank might be a recipe for disaster, haha. Especially since most people here have big families and love to bring everyone along with them...
Because even if you have your parents call them to confirm the rsvp, it's kind of like you're leaving it up to them to decide how many people they'll bring (and like your aunt, they might want to bring a whole table's worth of people!)

If your MIL wants to invite an entire family, then maybe you can count how many they are and specify that in the number of reserved seats? Seems like you'd avoid a lot of trouble this way..

I don't understand why people do that...if reserved for 2 dapat 2 lang. And if they decided to bring like 5 people mas malaki ba ang angpao nila? Kasi diba may rule sa angpao like at least 2k per pax mga ganun... parang courtesy diba?

I think it's bawal to do anything on ghost month. Bawal fitting, bawal preps...pinag bawalana din ako to buy fabric on Aug! (although I might still do it kasi I'm running out of time....hehe)....

BTW mga sis, what colors can you suggest for ninangs? Kasi I want beige or gray e ayaw ni MIL. Very dead daw na color. Gusto niya bright and vibrant (chinese na chinese e!) e gusto ko very clean and classic....Anyway, anong color ba usually type ng mga chinese titas?
