hello! hehe question, you have friends getting married before and after your wedding. (since may rule na 100 days bawal mag attend before and after) do you still invite them? what if also if they don't know the rule. is this limited to church or also reception?

thanks!

May cousin yung fiance ko na bigla nagplano ng kasal niya right after us. We're getting married in January, tapos sila bigla March gusto pakasal na din. In our case medyo wala kami magagawa, kasi cousin nya yun e. And as far as I know di nila pinapractice na yung mga ganung chinese beliefs, maski nga pafengshui ng date nila di na nila ginawa e. In the case of friends, I guess kung close mo talaga sila then invite them pa din. And yes ang alam ko limited to the church ceremony yung ganito, reception ok lang na pumunta talaga (even yung sa pregnant mommies) :)

Thank you sis Meixin! sa amin kasi even the reception ata bawal. ( i mean belief) pero how can i tell a friend na bawal sha punta? parang kakahiya lalo na if hindi chinese. kind of mahirap na dilemma.

Oo nga medyo nakakahiya. Pero kung close mo naman talaga kasi siya e, baka naman pwede mo kausapin parents mo na iinvite mo siya sa reception lang. baka naman pumayag sila pag ganun :)

chinkybride since medyo madami kami sunod sunod magpapakasal I asked my friends casually if alam nila yun (bawal if within the bawal period) and if they practiced that. Yung  friend ko getting married before us said "Ngayon sinabi mo na sakin, edi sunod nalang din ako." So that was our cue na we weren't invited. Yun other one naman after us said they also practice so I told him na we understand that they couldn't attend ours.

Ayun nga eh stella021817 even if someone from his family tells him about that he's the type of person to not listen. Nung wake ng dad niya he was breaking every rule/tradition daw. Na-freak out kaya yung other friends namin. He was telling them daw na it's for Buddhists lang.

Yung preggy ang sure ako na ceremony lang bawal, reception pwede. Yung sa just got married, as far as I know ceremony lang din yun e. Yung may recently deceased ang alam kong bawal talaga..

Siguro it's safe to conclude na depende yun sa bride and groom to be if they believe that kind of practice. Discretion na nila if they will follow or not.  ;) Naenlighten nanaman ako..haha It's a relief for me I can attend my cousin's wedding kasi she insists na di siya naniniwala sa ganun and that I should come at her wedding.

^Agree depende naman talaga sa belief yun. We're just trying to establish the norm according sa passed down na traditions :) Actually sa akin din may iinvite ako na friends na kakakasal lang sa time ng wedding ko hehe at pinaparinig ko na sa parents ko pero di ata nagreregister hehe

sis corpse_bride , including reception sayo? I don't want to be rude kasi na not to send invitations to them, but im pretty sure they are not aware na they can't come kasi newly married sila. *sigh*

^ kami kasi we're following lang what our elders tell us. Like si ah um ni fiancé insisted yung not inviting engaged couples but didn't push na yung newly married ones. My mom naman ayaw yung friend in mourning. Wala naman sila sinabi with pregnant women so di din kami nagsabi.

As far as I know naniniwala sila dun sa preggy at namatayan e, maybe naglax sila sa newly married couple.

^ Sa amin naman, hinayaan na lang kami kasi one of my best friends was getting married the week after us (abay namin sila and vice versa).  They are not Chinese naman. And ang reasoning ko naman, my husband doesn't follow, kami lang. Plus I always believe na the most important factor is faith talaga. hehe. Kaya nagkibit balikat na lang mum ko. :D. Plus I really couldn't fathom not inviting my best friend since they came all the way from London just to go to ours, plus ganun din kami. hehe.

mga sis, I need your advise. Kasi there are 2 ballrooms na inoffer ang hotel, 350pax and 500pax. Kasi initially our headcount was around 450 guest for a 500pax ballroom. Pero last night I found out na madaming relatives kaming hindi makakapunta, so I'm afraid baka mamaya nasa 350 lang pala final guest list ko? Should I go for the smaller ballroom na (lower min. consumable) or the bigger na lang (pero sayang if hindi mapuno ballroom and min. consumable). What do you think?

^I think if you're expecting 350 guests (and up), go for the bigger ballroom. Usually the capacity they give is the maximum capacity -- meaning the tables are very close together, little to no room for stage/dance floor etc.

I would personally prefer to have more space than cramming everyone in (I'm in a similar situation, and opted to book the larger room. I'll just ask my stylist to arrange the tables to maximize the space). Though if you don't mind it being a bit tight, and don't need a dance floor, then maybe you can avail of the smaller room to get the lower consumption rate..

Hi !!!

Based on experience, normally pag chinese wedding, more or less 10-15% ng expected guests ang hindi pumupunta. So if lauriant yung dinner, and okay lang sayong itake home yung food ng mga guaranteed seats na hindi na fill up, then go for the larger room :)
