Usapang binyag/dedication/Christening

We had my son dedicated more than a year ago and yung iba kong kinuhang ninong/ninang pumunta pero wa gift? What's your take on this? :)

ngayon lang kase ako naka encounter ng ganon. pag ako kasi naiimbita sa ganyang occasion i really give not out of obligation..pero for me because it is my duty as ninang. that's for me.

ibig sabihin pag kayo pala kinuha hindi ninyo rin i oblige sarili ninyo? or ok lang kahit di kayo makapag bigay? just a thought.

Yung mga friends kong nasa abroad never kong kinuha magninang.

Sumerian religion has its roots in the worship of nature, such as the wind and water. The ancient sages of Sumer found it necessary to bring order to that which they did not understand and to this end they came to the natural conclusion that a greater force was at work LiteBlue

Godparents are supposed to help parents to raise and nurture the children. They are the ones to guide them in case of absence of the parents. I think giving gifts should be secondary concern na lang. Mga ninong at ninang dapat kaagapay ng parents na magpakita ng good manners, good lifestyle..

^ I agree. That is also my understanding regarding the roles of ninang or ninong. It should not be about their capacity to give material gifts to the child.
