Long Haul Flight: PAL vs Eva Air

its not even about petty chats, was just asking for something, like what choices do I have for lunch, an FA answered back in a manner that is not acceptable. same thing when I was at the washroom and this FA was hurrying me up just so she can clean it. granting the FAs do no speak good English, manner of delivering the message speaks so much of the attitude. tapos mag titinginan sila ng fellow FAs and talk to each other in a foreign language na halatang inis. Bad experience also with the FAS on the return flight.

I have tried JAL, and the FAs are also not very conversant in English, but they are very malumay in responding back to you.

Ako naman, naaawa sa mga FA's. Feeling ko parang "katulong" sa napakadaming tao, ang dating nila sa plane. So much so na as much as possible, I don't ask for their service if not necessary. Are they compensated well?

If you don't mind transits and have lots of time to plan your trip, go EVA air. Slightly better services and if you time your purchase right, cheaper fares.

PAL I would recommend if you're in a hurry or if you're taking someone with you who cannot physically tolerate wait times or plane transfers, i.e. elderly or frail family members. I just make sure I'll book the flights using bigger planes like the 777. Kahit madalas palpak ang in-flight entertainment in front of your seat, at least half the time they function okay. Kapag airbus para ka talagang nakasakay lang sa bus, manonood ka ng movie sa screen na maaaring malayo sa seat mo

I just took a long haul flight with Pal a few days ago, MLA - JFK and happy naman ako.  I didn't see much difference in terms of seat size sa economy with Cathay which I took naman months ago going to LA.  Mas frequent pa nga yung food ng Pal kesa Cathay.  I also like it na halos panay Pinoy kasama ko sa plane kapag Pal which makes it more comfortable and mas at home ang feeling lalo na pauwi.  In terrms of entertainment, hindi nga lang masyadong maganda yung selection sa PAL although napilitan ako manood ng Tagalog movies which I enjoyed naman.  So, same with the others, if time is of the essence, take Pal.  But if you're not in a hurry and may budget ka, take other airlines and mag-business class ka.  For me, baduy yung biz class ng Pal eh hehe.
