Hi ladies! How did you approach your principal sponsors? Did you give anything when you visited them? We plan to start visiting them na kasi soon.

Thanks :)

hi tricia! We are on the same phase of our wedding preps! kelan wedding mo? plan din namin kasi na magpunta na sa mga principal sponsors this june or july! i don't know if too early since feb 2017 pa kami, but naisip ko naman better early than late kasi may lakad na sila or what.

Anyway, I plan to give them my save-the-date invite and siguro a cake? haha.

Hi Kat! That's what we were thinking of a cake or something. d ko lang pa sure anong cake. Isang option is to reserve a resto tapos idinner sabay sabay? This November na yung wedding namin. :)

^my brother took his principal sponsors out for dinner :) Seemed the easiest, since it's difficult to visit all of them individually, especially if they're busy. My fiance and I will probably do the same.

hi tricia and stella! the idea of a dinner is great! lalo na kung makakapunta lahat and kaya ng sched nila. however, like us may mga busy na ninong and ninangs, i am not sure kung magwowork. Anyway, just a thought, hindi ba mahirap yung dinner pag hindi magkakakakilala lahat? kasi you need to entertain them all at once.

^If we host a dinner for our sponsors, we would allow them to bring their spouse or +1. So I think it should be okay, even if they don't all know each other. It's just for a few hours anyway :) If ever there are 1 or 2 who are uncomfortable with that set up, they'd probably decline the dinner invite -- then maybe you could visit those ones personally?

Hi t_r_i_c_i_a we're about to move to that stage as well. We plan to visit them personally next month which is 4 months before our wedding. Then we'll bring the Save The Date card (also planning to include a small note regarding their Ninang/Ninong's outfit para the Ninangs will have ample time to prepare or look for their gown) and food like pastries or cake. Was thinking nga na tea time/merienda time kami magvisit.

Good idea din yung dinner but probably same thoughts as Kat, paano kung hindi sila magkakakilala baka challenging pag entertain sa kanila hehe, the purpose why they were there.  ;D

^good idea dun sa color outfit! I almost forgot! Anyway, siguro I'll put a simple note din why I chose them as ninong or ninang.  :)

Hi girls,

Our wedding is on December 2016, we gave our "Will you be our Ninong/Ninang?" card just July.
Since we are working abroad, we sent it through FB/viber, some were handed personally.

Thanks

Hi sis! For us, nainform na kasi namin sila before hand. Pero for the formal Save the Date invite, we will be sending na lang via FB kasi some of our Principal Sponsors eh nasa abroad/province. For those naman na nandito, we will be giving something alongside with the invitation na siguro by November or December (February bride here). Siguro cupcakes for the ninang and wine for the ninong. :)

Balik lang ako sa thread nato.

Paano nyo sila in-approach - ask them ahead via Facebook  or call?
Naisip ko kasi kung bigla na lang puntahan sa house, parang hindi ba inappropriate?

Some kasi na gusto namin, are parents ng friends, sabihan ko ba si friend na ask muna si parents if papayag sila?

Following this. :)

@tomatostellar, I think okay lang naman sabihin sa friends mo na interested kayo kunin sila as ninong/ninang.

We plan to meet them individually, or by group (example, ex-bosses sa dating company). We also plan to give the color swatches sa mga ninang para may guide sila kung anong kulay ang susuotin nila. Siguro coffee date lang ang gagawin namin. :)

Married already. Nag work samin to meet individually kasi konti lang (4 pairs) sila. Most of them are very close relatives kaya we easily squeezed ourselves to their scheds. A month before namin ginawa kasama na bigay ng invites. We brought food for kung anong time kami nasa kanila (merienda, dinner, lunch etc.)

^ We brought fruits when we first visited our prospective principal sponsors. Tapos our second visit na was when we gave our wedding invites. In terms of communicating the color motif, thru text/call and FB na lang namin ginawa.

Hello sisters!

Required ba magbigay ng something pag nagpaalam sa sponsors? Nung kinasal kasi yung bestfriend ni h2b, hindi sila nagdala ng kahit ano. Medyo na-off nga kami, kaso baka kasi nagtitipid sila. Any opinions? Thanks!

We're close with our principal sponsors. When we visited them, iniisip lang nila na normal visit, so nung nagpaalam kami, ang casual lang. We didn't give them anything. ;D The conversation was like:

Me: Tita/Tito, ikakasal na kami. Ninang/Ninong ka ha.
Tita/Tito: Ganun? Eh buti naman. Ang tagal nyo na eh. Kelan ba? Anong regalo gusto nyo?

;D

Ohhh, so case-to-case basis nga. Siguro pag hindi masyadong close [textspeak!] sponsor, dun nalang magbigay ng something hehe

following this as well.

Hrmmm for us, we already mentioned to some of them informally. Pero we are planning to visit them one by one in the following months to formally inform them that we will get them as our Primary Sponsors. No gifts or whatever is planned. Pero once we visit them again the 2nd time around, we'll provide the fabrics to the Ninangs and necktie to the Ninongs.
