Just got back from a week stay in Osaka Japan. Super haba na pala yun for us!
got a JR West Kansai for the 1st 5days and visited: Nara, KObe, Kyoto, Himeji & Okayama.

For me sulit si Jr pass if you're going out of the city otherwise kung city lang the icoca will be good

Super lamig now prepare to bundle----uniqlo heattech really does its job as expected. then the hand warmers, patches were also very effective.

Hi. Just got back from Hokkaido. Re Mercure Hotel, the hotel is nice, may timed free shuttles to and fro sa Sapporo station. Room is kinda small, a standard in Japan. Ayoko lang yung pillows, 2 small pillows lang per bed, 1 super lambot and 1 matigas naman. The location is perfect, maraming restos sa tabi tabi.

Re flytpack, tried it 2x already. First was in Korea last Oct. and 2nd time here in our Hokkaido trip. The speed is very good, anywhere ok speed kasi based naman sya sa network sa Japan. I didn't try downloading though, pang fb postings and viber lang naman kaya need ko data on the road.

^Hi sis! Welcome back! Thanks for writing about Mercure. May I know what room type you booked? We are 4 kasi, 2 adults and 2 kids (bale 12 and 10 y/o). Also,  anong convenient mode of transpo from Chitose Airport to the hotel?  If hindi gagamit ng shuttle to Sapporo Station, how far is the nearest train station from the hotel? Concerned ako sa location ng hotel sa mga sakayan kasi mahirap maglakad sa snow... hehe.. Thanks a bunch!

^Privilege twin yung room namin sa Mercure Sapporo. The bed can sleep 2 persons naman, mejo sakto lang. We were at the topmost floor, 15/f, yan kasi lagi request ko sa hotel bookings ko, higher floor para better view hehe

Hosui Susukino station(toho/blue line) ang pinakamalapit sa hotel, as in 2 buildings away lang. Susukino station (namboku/green line), mga 100m away siguro, pwede din dito.

We took the Rapid Airport train to and from the airport. Then transfer na lang sa subway to reach the hotel.

Good to know also that it's very accessible.

Question also sis, if you don't mind, since winter din yung punta namin... is it really necessary to wear snow boots or any shoes na waterproof and with good traction okay na?  Thanks ulit.

^advisable is waterproof shoes wtih good traction. madulas kasi talaga yung snow, lalo na if matigas na. then kelangan talaga waterproof, baka manginig mga paa pag nabasa shoes hehe

^Thanks, sis. Hanap akong footwear na pwede ilakad sa snow. Medyo mahal yung mga nakita ko dati from Columbia and The North Face. I'll check Merrell. Sana meron din for kids.

Choosing between Ibis Styles Sapporo Hotel and Mercure Hotel Sapporo... which one is better in terms of accessibility to public transpo at mga kainan? I have read that both are short walk away from the train stations, pero which of the two kaya ang mas okay? Will be going during winter. Preferred ko yung maikli lang lalakarin outside (in the snow) kasi I assume it will be difficult to walk with heavy luggages and kids in tow. Okay lang kung covered yung walkway...hehe...

Need your inputs, ladies. Or if may mas better accommodation than these two, please suggest. Thanks so much.

I need your help. We are planning to visit Japan in December.  Ito ang mga pupuntahan naming: Tokyo-Osaka-Kyoto-Nara. Pero dahil nakakatarantang mag-research, uunahin ko muna ang mga question ko for Tokyo . Sana matulungan ninyo ako.  Ito po sila:

1.   Saan area the best tumira- Shinkuju, Shibuya or Tokyo City? Hotel, Airbnb,inn suggestions?
2.   Kapag nakapili na ng area, paano ang transfer from the airport to your hotel?
3.   Ito lang ang mga gusto namin puntahan sa Tokyo:
A.   Shibuya Crossing
B.   Hachiko Statue
C.   Imperial Palace
D.   Gotemba Outlet Mall (para makita na rin kahit sa malayo ang Mt. Fuji)
4.   Kung  yan lang ang mga gusto naming puntahan, anong klaseng train ticket ang bibilhin naming---Suica,Pasmo, ICOCA Tokunai, etc?

      Day 1
        - Shibuya Crossing
-   Hachiko
-    Explore Shibuya
   Day 2
-Gotemba Outlet
-Explore Shinjuku

Day 3- Imperial Palace
-   Ginza?
Day 4- Punta na ng Osaka.

^^airport transfers - I'll rather take the limousine bus in case you arrive between the morning peak hours. Nawawala ang 'forced politeness' ng mga Japanese sa ganyang oras. The areas you've mentioned malaki ang train stations nila nakakalito and nakakapagod.

Gotemba - bus the better option; train madami transfers and takes a lot of time
