well, i will say i'm truly impressed. and hindi lang naman drug war ang gauge ko if there's improvement sa pilipinas or wala. so this drugs issue is not my sole basis. so i wonder why all attention is given by the media, by haters, by political enemies, and by the too-difficult-to-impress people sa drugs and all the killings attributed to it. why focus on crime rate alone? di mo maiwasan na magisip bakit nagrereact lahat. imposible naman na concerned sila sa karapatang pantao ng kriminal. bakit ngayon lang eh matagal nang may extrajudicial killings di nga lang nababalita daily at hindi nga lang binibilang ng media isa isa before unlike ngayon. so logic will tell you na baka may pinagtatakpan yung mga mabilis pumutak. we are not living in utopia, he did not promise a crime free country, but a safer country. sabagay san nga ba nagfofocus ang mga tao kundi sa mantsa lang diba. dagdag mo pa kuyog mentality ng karamihan sa mga pinoy. i just wish we all just wait and see, observe and be fair critics of this administration. wag na magfocus sa mali at shocking because i think the good outweighs the bad pa din. although i think lang hindi naman sila tinatablan na, president duterte and chief bato especially.
so what impressed me?
911 and 8888 hotline. police visibility every where 24/7 even sa mga high risk areas. try to observe gaano kadaming pulis sa mga malls ngayon, sa bawat kanto at mga nagroroving sa kalye. yung minor curfew very much okay kaso naTOR lang. anti-age discrimination law for employees, new anti-carnapping law na non-bailable na, exact change law, longer prescription for anti-graft and corruption crimes, more transparent and responsible media reporting coming mismo sa ptv4 hindi puro fabricated and sensational media lang, simplicity sa government as exemplified last SONA (and every one followed), gone are the days na major topic ang mga damit ng political sisters and wives, not to mention malaking breather na hindi na topic si kris ngayon. lol. shorter processing time for renewal of PRC licenses from one whole day to 4 hours max, EDSA slowly being decongested by banning UV Express, difficult times for drug trade and exchange. (sobrang hirap ngayon, to the point na sobrang palihim and maingat ang mga durugista pero nahuhuli pa din ng pulis), ordinary citizens being proactive sa pagturo at pagtugis ng criminals unlike before na deadma lang, kanya kanya. mga verified criminals na ang bilis mahuli. walang one week resolved na dahil seryoso ang police na nagtatrabaho ngayon. mga politico na nahuli at umamin na involved sila sa drugs. major overhaul sa bureau of corrections, revamp and major changes sa DAR, POEA, etc. bilions of pesos granted to farmers in terms of agriculture and technology, and a very closed but effective way of handling the territorial disputes. i can go on and on but the truly amazing part here is kauupo pa lang nya last june. wala pang 60 days. take note of that. not to mention ang daming upcoming at nakalinya nang mga usapin. pagtaas ng sahod, manila traffic, public transportation, the health sector, industrialization, technology sa fishing and rice, etc. tuwing iniisip ko na nung june lang sya nagstart, ang layo na ng narating ng pilipinas. what more in 6 years.
and come to think of it, never magbabalita ng positibo ang sensationalist media, or else pano pa sila kikita? nasa drama at aksyon ang kwento. for me, kung puro positive ang sinasabi ng news, hindi na ako manonood ng tv. i'd rather go out and have fun tutal wala na akong worries kahit ano pang oras yan. hindi na din ako magsstay sa bahay lang para makatipid dahil mataas na ang pay ko or matulog nang maaga because i have to wake up and brave the hellish traffic every day. ganun lang kasimple.
pero bottomline pinaka-naimpress ako kay president duterte is how he made all or majority of filipinos dream and HOPE for a better future ng bawat isa. nawawala na yung pagkamakasarili ng pinoy. everyone looks out for everyone. call it charm or karisma but wala pang presidente nakapag unify sa pinoy, albeit partially. isn't that impressive enough?
