^and Joma Sison's statement that Duterte will be protected by the NPA is alarming i wonder ano nararamdaman ng mga AFP ngayon.  Duterte's recent pronouncements regarding the West Philippine Sea, not continuing with the AFP Modernization, and him seriously considering China's offer to build railways in exchange of joint exploration in West PH sea screams treason. He's clearly leaning more to the communists sana mali ako pero kung hindi i can only pray for my country.

^ Yup you should be alarmed. Everyone should be vigilant. Syempre kailangan mo din intindihin mo yung motive na he is trying to break the conflict. Same lang ang inis ng sundalo at mga NPA sa isa't isa. Hindi ibig sabihin na sinuportahan yung isa eh kaaway na din yung isa. Someone has to be the bridge. AFP shifts weapons tack

THE Armed Forces of the Philippines will focus on getting more modern helicopters and naval fast craft under its modernization program so that it can address the internal security threats of the country, the incoming military chief said Thursday.

This is exactly true. Sana after ng simpleng inauguration, magiging simple na din yung SONA. Nakakatindig balahibo ang mga very expensive and luxurious OTD ng mga politicians and their families during the previous SONAs.

Based on reports and statements I have read, Duterte is not stopping AFP modernization. I even feel like his priorities will be the PNP and AFP so I guess it will include its modernization. On the conflict between the government and NPAs and other communist groups, I really don’t know what will be the best solution but all I know is, the processes taken by previous admins like the all-out wars and peace treaties, have really never solve the conflict. I can’t even tell if the government is really sincere in seeking lasting peace in Mindanao because it feels like it’s always about their political powers. So I hope with Duterte’s presidency, the Philippines will be truly united.

Duterte asks Abu Sayyaf: Talk or fight?

President-elect Rodrigo Duterte wants to know if the Abu Sayyaf group (ASG) is open to holding a dialogue with the government or just continue its atrocities.
In his speech at the thanksgiving party in Cebu on Saturday night, Duterte said he does not consider the Abu Sayyaf to be an enemy despite its tag as a militant group and involvement in kidnapping foreign nationals for ransom.
The tough-talking politician, however, said the group must be clear on whether it wants to be seen as an enemy.
“Abu Sayyaf, hindi ko sila kalaban. I know that is connected with the issue of Mindanao. Nais ko lang linawin, sila ba? Are they willing to talk or just fight it out?” he asked.
Duterte posed the question to Abu Sayyaf because he said he is half-hearted about using public funds to buy arms that will kill fellow Filipinos.
“But I hate to buy rifles and bullets, cannons and bombs to kill a Filipino. I could hardly move my finger to sign a document buying things just to kill my fellowmen. Masakit. Masakit sa loob,” he said.

I think Dutere needs to read about ISIS. I find it amusing na galit na galit si Duterte sa mga addicts/criminals, but he does not consider ASG as enemies. Masahol pa nga sa mga sa mga addicts iyung ASG. Nakita naba ni Duterte ang mga inhuman na ginawa ng ASG? These ASG pledges alliance with ISIS. Nakita naba ni Dutere ang mga bata na sinunog ng ISIS?These ASG are thugs, terrorist/criminals.

^Hinde sya updated, sis. Heheh kidding aside, this ASG problem in Mindanao is very disturbing. I don’t know what the government has been doing these past years at bakit parang nagiging mas powerful tong mga terorista nato.

They were members of MNLF but when ARMM was founded to end the conflict between the government and MNLF, these members created a new militant group which we now knew as ASG. But now, it seems their group has morphed into just plain terrorists and kidnappers who just do what they’re doing for pure terrorism & profit. If duterte wants to talk to them instead of fight, fine! Let him talk to them. But if after the talks, the government releases them and ASG continues their operations and duterte still wants to talk, well someone should smack him on the head. He can talk to them and imprison them after the talk (hopefully, death penalty is legal by that time). I really hope this is what he’ll do.

The conflict or issues in Mindanao cannot be solved by all-out wars and peace treaties alone. There must be an understanding of how such conflicts began. When you attack one group, the group’s survivors will just create a new group that most of the time, is more terrifying. When you make peace with only one of the militant groups in Mindanao, you abandon other groups which will again urge them to continue rebellion. Really, it’s more complicated than what our books and media are saying. And there are also cases in the pasts wherein militaries’ abuses were reported as acts of these groups and these ruined the trust between both parties. But I hope others won’t picture Mindanao as an unlivable place. We have a beautiful place. We are Filipinos too and are tired of getting caught in the middle of this MORO conflict. I am desperate for true peace to happen to us.

I think may mga kasabwat na corrupt military men itong ASG, kaya hindi nawawala. Duterte wants death penalty for criminals and these ASG are worse than street criminals. So dapat hindi nakikipagusap sa mga ito. Ano magiging dialogue? Huwag na kayo mamugot  ng ulo ha. Huwag na kayo mag kidnapping ha at papatawarin kayo ng government. That will be absurd. You never do a talking with terrorist/criminals. Duterte has a strong stand against drugs and street crimes. He should have a stronger stand against a more notorious ASG.

Madali sabihin pero mas mahirap ang laban sa ASG. I think hindi rin naman ito binabalewala ng incoming president. Kaya nga mas prioritized ang AFP modernization for internal security.

Do you think na palalagpasin nya yun kung naagrabyado ang kapatid nya? In the end, magtatakipan pa rin sila kasi kapatid is kapatid. Sad truth pero hindi talaga ito ganun kadali katulad ng naiisip ng karamihan.

As I told NPA today is not as strong. Gaya ng sabi ko iyung communism nawala na iyan sa maraming bansa. It is a dead ideology around the world. Sa pinas they are not as strong, Political will lang iyan para malinis ang bansa sa NPA.

The term is "all out war". As much as possible hinahanapn ng way para hindi mag all out war. Just like criminals, believe me shoot to kill order din ang mga rebelde at ASG kapag lumaban. Lalo na at army ang humaharap sa kanila mas matindi ang kahihinatnan nila pag naglaban sila. Problem is hindi nga ganun kadali kasi hindi nga din papahuli ng buhay ang mga ito. Sumuko na kayo or umalis na kayo ng davao or else alam na.

and yes, he's a lawyer. he knows the laws and so, his limits. and he's here to start working as a public servant.
