Need advice, reactions and suggestion.
« on: May 18, 2016, 01:28:26 pm »
Hi mga sisses,

First off, mahaba po ang post na ito. Medyo magkwento po about my current lovelife and then I want to ask for reactions and/or suggestions na din.

I’ve been with my boyfriend for a little more than 5 years. I am already 27 years old. Both panganay kami ni boyfie. Ako, I’m the breadwinner since nag-grad ako ng college. I have a pretty stable job. My parents don’t have permanent jobs kaya ako talaga ang inaasahan ng family.

My boyfie is also panganay. He’s a nurse. Ngayon he’s just waiting for his papers and magabroad na din siya (hopefully this year).

Here’s the thing. We’re thinking of getting married but not now. Sabi ni boyfie pagbalik niya after one contract which maybe 2-3 years from now. I will be 30-ish by then.

Well, medyo hirap ako magdecide. Parang gusto ko na ayaw din magpakasal. Gusto kasi of course for family reasons. And of course yung perception ng mga taong nakapaligid sakin. I am also a part-time professor kasi in our town college. And of course puwede na magbaby anytime since kasal na kami.

Yung other side naman. I am the breadwinner nga. I have this benefit from the company I’m working at, na dahil single ako, my healthcard extends to my parents. My parents are both diabetic and medyo mataas din ang BP. They are required to have regular check-ups and laboratory tests. And the card really is a big help. If I get married, hindi na sila puwede maging beneficiary. That’s one. Also, medyo mahahati din ang finances. That’s another one.

Kung hindi naman ako kasal and then mabuntis ako, kamusta naman ang tsismis sa opisina at sa school. Yung sa family kasi ang sabi ni boyfie bago naman namin gawin pupunta muna parents niya sa amin to at least make the arrangements to my parents.

Also, yung kapag naging preggy ako, feeling ko medyo may effect sa work. Kasi ngayon I’m just waiting for a promotion.

I can sleep in their house and same siya sa amin.

Kung kayo po ang nasa sitwasyon ko, what will be your thoughts? Thanks mga sis!

Do right by everyone, even your future child. Kung wala naman sinabi na biological deadline ang doctor, prepare for your future together.

Sa hirap ng buhay ngayon plus all the responsibilities you have, it doesn't seem like the right time to have a child. No assurance na OK future niya.

Don't be so afraid of age. If you're healthy, it shouldn't be a problem. I know of people still having babies late 30s and even early 40s no problem naman both mother and child.

For me ha, at all times, DOUBT means DON'T. And what's the assurance na you boyfriend can find work abroad asap? Hindi din naman sure yan. Baka mamaya ikaw pa ang maging breadwinner for both your parents and your husband to be.

Don't let them dictate you. Ask your bf, if mabuntis ka ngayon, anong plans nya? Mahirap magbuntis ng walang partner on your side. May plans naman na pala kayo magpakasal if makapag establish na sya ng career in 2-3 years, so if you can wait, why not? Also, hindi naman lahat ng nasa 30s ay hirap magbuntis, if that's your concern. Ang daming stories here in GT na nabubuntis even in their late 30s. You can always try later, and of course mas magiging secure din future ng family nyo with the baby. Magpakasal at Mag-anak kayo because you want to, not because they want an apo.

Also, yung kapag naging preggy ako, feeling ko medyo may effect sa work. Kasi ngayon I’m just waiting for a promotion.

I can sleep in their house and same siya sa amin.

I will think about it talaga. Actually my first decision talaga is not to have baby muna and yun nga to be healthy para kapag andun na puwede na.

Salamat for sharing your thoughts.

Agree with all the sisses NOT to have a baby muna. You have so much going on around you and your bf.
The fact that you're having doubts mean that you are not ready.

Good luck!

Sino nagsabi? I got married last feb, im 30 yrs old, march buntis na ako.

get married first because it is the right thing to do. para iwas chismis na rin sa part mo. lugi ka kasi ikaw ang babae.

yung mga ganyang bagay hindi na pinag iisipan iyan. the answer is NOT TO HAVE A BABY at the moment. hindi pa kayo ready financially. oo masarap may little bundle of joy in your arms. pero mas masarap kung may pang tustos ka sa everyday needs niya at may sobra pa.

huwag padalos dalos. may tamang panahon para diyan. now is not the right time. be practical sis. huwag puro puso ang pairalin. gumamit din ng utak. good luck!

My take - at the moment don't get married and don't have a baby. Life is complicated as it is, why complicate it further?

Ask the ofw GFs here, I've seen instances where fully trusted nila BF nila, but then pag balik, nagbago ihip ng hangin. Nagbago bigla ang Plano ni BF.

Why would you want to get married if you will not be together? Parang reservation ba yun ? Para wala na kayong pakawala?

Why would you want to have kids if both of you need to feed your families? When kayo puede maging together with the baby if he has to work abroad all the time? Just asking your long term plans - where in abroad pupunta si BF? Is it a place where you can follow and raise your kids? Kasi if not, parang wala akong nakikitang worry free na future nyo other than forever sya mag ofw and iwan ka sa pinas, while both of you support your families.

30 is not late to have a baby. My SIL is 32 when she got pregnant, their first. She's giving birth anytime soon.
Marriage should not be rushed, its something you two should prepare not just mentally but financially. Loads of things can happen in 2-3 years, take advantage of this period to develop yourselves pa instead of worrying of things that will most likely wont happen.

Hi girls. Yung problem ko is di naman talaga about sa pagcheat or the likes. As in una kong sinabi agad is no. Pero gusto niya pa ding ipush since saglit lang naman daw siya.

Syempre ayokong ma-LDR as much as possible.

I think you have to try to look at the situation objectively. Wala ba kayong long term plans to move there eventually?

If his work there will be better for his career in the long term, ok sana, especially if you guys plan to migrate there. But if he will do menial jobs just to earn Canadian$, parang di ata worth lumayo. Very short term ang thinking na makakaipon. How much? Enough ba ang maitatabi mo in 3 years to think you still need to eat and pay lodging there kahit papaano.

Sabi naman niya sis na ang short term goal niya is yun nga para makaipon for his family. Tapos ang plan niya sa long term is *kung kami talaga in the future* eh dun na rin kami titira. Sa 3 or 4 years kasi madami pang mangyayare.

I think your future in law and boyfie were able to suggest the no kasal-anak muna choice kasi they're not getting the short end of the stick there. I kinda think it's pathetic of your bf to say na yung iba nga kinakasal ng di pa financially stable, did he hear what he was saying? Mej red flag siya for me.

Sis chinrosete, Is you boyfriend coming to Canada as an immigrant? If yes, let your boyfriend go. Pangarap nya yan, hayaan mo sya. Let him take the opportunity. Hindi lang Canadian dollars ang opportunity dito, pati quality of life is good. Kung kayo talaga ang magkakatuluyan in the future, mas magiging maganda ang future pati ng magiging kids nyo.

Life is complicated enough, a baby out of wedlock with an absent father is too much complication already.
1st, you just may be putting your teaching job at risk.

Just send him off; and focus on advancing yourself.

^This!

Yung boyfriend (now husband) ko when we're just about 2-3 yrs sa relationship, I often ask him kelan nya ko balak pakasalan, he will always tell me, when the time is ready. And by the time he meant that, should be financially and emotionally ready. To my surprise, on our 5th year, he proposed to me. I can totally say na pinaghandaan nya kase that's the time nakapag-pundar na sya ng business for his parents to sustain their needs at para hindi totally naka-asa sa kanya 9since he's also the breadwinner). What I mean is, if he's THE MAN dapat ang babaeng papakasalan or kakasamahin ay hindi dadalhin sa alanganin.

Let's say nabuntis ka nga nya while he's on abroad, it will be depressing/saddening on your part kasi naiwan ka sa pinas ng walang partner to care for you while you're pregnant and paglabas ni baby. Sure yan makakaramdam ka ng rollercoaster of emotions (lalo na pag buntis) then makakapekto yan sa LDR nyo.

What is the assurance na makakahanap agad sya ng work, since breadwinner ka makakadagdag sa expense nyo si baby. And maraming pwedeng mangyari in 2-3yrs sa relasyon nyo. Let's be realistic. Pagbali-baliktarin mo ang sitwasyon, ikaw ang lugi dito.

Kumusta na TS?

Sa mga major decisions in life, getting married, buying a house, migrating, etc... You're not supposed to make these decisions nang Ora-orada, or under duress/pressure. Otherwise you will tend to make the wrong decision.
