Is it okay to bring a book to the embassy so I can read while waiting for my turn? How about a notebook and pen?
Also, ano ba yung nearest hotel na walking distance lang?

^ Yes, you can bring a book, notebook, a pen, a coloring book -- i saw kids who brought coloring books when i was there for my appointment

As for the nearest hotel, there are a lot of hotels less than 1km away from the embassy. The nearest one, i guess, is the Bayview Hotel (where my mom stayed for her interviews). Check google maps - it'll show you hotels nearby

We went for our B1/B2 visa interview yesterday. I was with my 11 yr old son. Ang aga namin dumating for our 10am interview so we waited outside, was given seats by the ate tinderas outside as we waited for our schedule. I've heard they rent it out for 30 pesos each pero di kami nasingil. When it was our turn, I handed out my mobile phone for safekeeping sa isang ate tindera. She asked for 200 pesos to keep it. Ang mahal! hahaha.

Medyo mabilis pila sa Steps 1 (Pre screening) and 2 (fingerprinting). Sa step 3 which is the interview, medyo mahaba pila. May ibang consul na medyo matagal mag interview, merong mabilis. Nung sa amin, ang tagal nung nauna sa amin sa pila. Nakikipag argue siya sa consul. Di maiwasan marinig ang usapan eh. haha. My son and I waited for more than 15 minutes siguro. Our turn was kind of short compared to the others Ive overheard while nasa pila. What I remember were:

1) state your relationship
2) what will you do in the US?
3) what state are you visiting?
4) how long are you staying?
5) who is in the US?
6) how did your brother get in the US?
7) where is the father (my son's father)
he's not coming with you?
9) what is your work?
10) how long have you been working there?

she asked my son 2 questions:
1) what school do you go to?
2) what grade are you in?

Then, she told me, okay, your visas are approved. Nakakatuwa!

We'll just wait for our visas to be delivered.  Then will book our tix for Christmas na.
Hope my experience somehow will help someone prepare for theirs.

^If you mean the Duterte issue, I don't think they care, labas na ang consular office giving out visas sa isyung yan. And in the first place, hindi madaling makakuha like before. Who gave you the idea?! It's always a case to case basis. Kung magawi ka sa US Embassy at observe mo mga nag-a apply ng visa, almost always halos 75% ang rejected by. Sad but true.

pano po kaya pag senior citizen/retired na ang mag-aapply ng tourist visa?  ano po kaya requirements nila? anyone here na nag-apply ng visa for their senior citizen moms/dads/grandparents?  pa share naman po ng experience TIA!

Hi mga sis. Question. How true na mahigpit na ang mag consul ngayon sa pag-approve ng visa sa US? Me and my hubby plan to apply for our tourist visa sana this year but one of my officemates told me na mahirap kumuha ng visa today because of the Duterte and Obama issues. TIA!

another question lang, kailangan ba ng bank certificate? meron naman kami account ni hubby pero hindi mo masasabi na maayos talaga dahil hindi naman kami nakapagsave talaga. currently employed naman ako then hubby owns a commercial space for rent. under his name yung land title. medyo hesitant ako magapply for a visa kasi nga dahil sa bank certificate. TIA

^when i had my interview last year, walang hininging kahit anong document sa akin. Tinanong lang what i do for a living, how much ang basic salary, sinong magfifinance ng trip ko. I prepared a bank cert pero hindi naman tiningnan. I think kung ano yung info na ilalagay mo sa ds160 yun lang ang tatanungin/ikoconfirm nila.

^^  I also had bank certificates ready pero hindi hiningi. However, I also know of some people / friends, who were asked to show theirs. So to be sure, better i-prepare mo na lang din.

hi girls... sharing with you my experience just recently 
got approved yesterday. i was with my mom and my husband. we were there for the 815am appointment. 630am pa lang andun na kami kasi mahirap nang maipit ng traffic. we parked sa may emerald garden. very convenient because tatawid ka lang and then a bit of a walk to the embassy entrance. okay naman ang weather yesterday morning. it wasn't hot and medyo mahangin.
buti na lang kasabay namin my mom because si mama hindi naman talaga pala-travel. and nerbyosa sa mga interviews. hehe. ang bilis lang ng process pati from when we entered at 815. by 9am ata we were out na.
dun sa pila bago kami, halos lahat were denied. nagkataon lang siguro. isa lang ang approved yung seafarer but the rest denied. kaya mejo nakakakaba din. but tour lang naman kami talaga and dalaw sa sister ko who is an immigrant so sabi ni hubby wag kabahan. si mama kasi habang papalapit kami sa final interview super kinakabahan hehe. we were supposed to be interviewed sa window 26 but antagal niyang binubusisi yung documents ng ini-interview nya hanggang sa andami nang nainterview ng iba. so when hubby saw na may isang window available nagpunta na kami dun. very pretty the girl na nag interview sa min hihi and good mood kaming tatlo. she just asked us why we're going to the states and how long. also saan sa states. she also asked if we have a relative na dadalawin. sabi ko, yes, we're visiting my sister... and then she asked how my sister got there. i just mentioned that she was petitioned by her husband. after that ask nya lang kung ano work ko at ni hubby and saan. and tenure. actually mejo nag worry pa nga ako kasi si hubby just transferred to a new company and 1 month pa lang sha dun. so sabi ni hubby more than a month but I've been in the sales industry for 10 years. hehe. and then when she heard yung company ni hubby she was nodding kasi most likely she knows the company. after that, she just asked us if we have children and sabi ko none yet. then she turned to mama and just asked how many daughters do you have... so sabi ni mama, 2. and then and where are they? tapos mejo nag hang si mama hahaha, tapos natatawa yung consul kasi comedy si mama e, tapos she said, one is in las vegas and the other one is? and then si mama, saka, lang sinabi na philippines! hehe, and then she said, you're all approved. hindi ko na narinig the rest of what she said kasi tuwang tuwa kami ni mama
it was a very pleasant experience for us

Question lang po. Is there any quota of Visa Approval every year?
For example the quota for 2016 is 300 and by October naka 280 na sila, it means less chances na ma approve sa mga magpapa appointment ng November to December?

^for tourist visas wala po. I think the quota is only applicable sa may employer-based (EB) visas

Hi Mga Sis.

Please help on my concern.

Nagconfirm na kami kahapon ng DS-160 form online. Nakapagbayad narin kami and nakakuha narin kami ng Appointment.

Ang concern ko lang  yung cousin ko na nilagay kong contact sa US information, nagpalit siya ng postpaid plan kanina lang. So nagbago yung number niya. Hindi ko na mababago yung contact number sa form diba, sa Embassy ko na yun pwede machange.

Question ko is, tinatawagan ba talaga nila yung contact number dun?
Based on experience ba may feedback yung mga contact niyo sa US na talagang tinawagan sila?
Although may email and home address naman they can verify it...

Yun lang kasi ang worry ko. Baka tawagan nila tapos cannot be reached.

Hoping na may makapag share ng experience.
