need your inputs po.  we will be going to tokyo and i am choosing between disneyland and disneysea. nakarating na kami ng hk disneyland. i am initially thinking disneysea na lang kasi nakapag-disneyland na. kaso kapag kinukumpara ko ang dalawa, ang rides ng disneysea e more on pang-adults o teens. 8 years old pa lang yung daughter ko.  iniisip ko baka kami lang adults ang may gusto at mag-enjoy. hehe...  what do you think po? same po ba talaga masyado ang tokyo disneyland at hk disneyland?

i've read other forums and they say that HK disneyland is better than Tokyo Disneyland. Also, there's only one DisneySea - which is why we chose to go to Disneysea. the area is VAST (as in napagod kami ng brother ko kakaikot) - as to the rides ... havent noticed if its geared towards adults as my brother and i are more of the wandering type. the indiana jones ride is a must though.  and their night show was spectacular since it was done in the water - nakakaaliw

Sabi namin we are planning to visit other places like Osaka, Fukuoka and Sapporo. Luckily naman we were given 5 yrs. multiple entry.

@msrain Like you nakapunta na kami HK Disneyland so Tokyo DisneySea pinili namin nung nagJapan kami. That time 7 yrs old lang anak ko and super enjoy niya naman DisneySea. Madami din kami nasakyan na rides. May Mermaid Lagoon sila dun na nandoon yung maraming rides na pambata.

Girls, any instagrammable places to go to sa Tokyo na accessible lang sa Tokyo station aside from Asakusa?

Also, best place to go grocery shopping for snacks, beauty products like mga collagen, mask, na malapit lang sa station? Im planning to buy q ton of snacks and if kaya, yung coveted SKII. Hehe

May cherry blossoms naba sa March 22?or I should wait out until March 31?

hi. pa-advise naman mga sis if ok na itong iti namin. will be in tokyo march 24 - 28 via narita terminal 2, 4pax kami including 1 senior citizen. our hostel is in asakusabashi (Tsubame Guesthouse) .

Lunch (meron ba makakainan na ok sa airport or mas ok na sa city na maglunch? baka lang kasi magutom kami sa bihaye since mga nasa 1 hour biyahe daw yun Keisei Ltd. Express train)
ride Keisei Limited Express Train to Oshiage then subway to asakusabashi (Tsubame Guesthouse). after check in, leave luggage then alis na para mamasyal
back to oshiage for Tokyo sky tree (if we don't go up the observatory, ok pa rin ba puntahan ito? gusto lang kasi namin sana magphoto ops lang)
Sensoji Temple
Sumida River (malapit na raw ito sa asakusa station? mga how many minutes yun layo niya? kayang lakarin?)

disneysea been to hk disneyland na before so we chose this na lang para maiba. pero for senior citizens ba, meron pang rides or events/activities na mag-eenjoy siya dito? sabi kasi medyo more on rollercoasters daw meron sa disneysea?

Odaiba at night, just want to see yun gundam, rainbow bridge view ano pa ba makikita dito? or scrap ko na kayo ito and just spend more time in harajuku/shibuya/shinjuku area?

Mt Fuji + Lake Kawaguchi + gotemba + oshino hakkai
planning on getting it via klook or kkday, pero sabi ng friend ko kaya i-DIY since bus lang din daw from shinjuku but when i checked parang nasa 1800+ din balikan nun bus while sa klook/kkday is around 2700 per pax. negligible na ba yun difference? consider ko rin kasi na may 1 senior kami na kasama, baka kasi mahirapan if i-DIY and then after drop off sa kawaguchiko bus station(if DIY), lilipat ka pa ulit ng smaller bus para umikot sa place.
drop off shibuya, then Don Quijote for pasalubong

ok na ba na 4pm alis namin papunta narita or do we need to make it earlier. balak namin is via keisei ltd express ulit pabalik via asakusa or oshiage

Planning on Ueno or near Tokyo station for ease of moving around using the train

Kapag may senior citizen ba na kasama, marerecommend niyo ba ang Tokyo? O sa iba na lang like Osaka?

^^ it actually depends on ano type ng kasama mo na senior citizen.

Tokyo is more cosmopolitan - shopping galore mostly but if you're planning to visit Mt. Fuji, Tokyo is nearer to Mt. Fuji. there are a number of really good gardens though if you're the type to visit them - yun nga lang, malayo layong lakaran.

Osaka is more traditional - you get to visit a number of temples as its a train ride away from Kyoto or Nara .. and even within Osaka there are a number of palace and temples  you can visit.

if you're a foodie - Osaka is better, at least for me. Shops in japan close quite early - 8pm sarado na majority. At least kasi when i dont want to go home pa, i'll wander around Dotonbori ... and find places to eat or sightsee

For Mt. Fuji...

Which do you prefer? Tour or DIY? For those who have tried DIY, how did you go about it?

Problem is yung mag-ama ko lagi punta restroom, kaya hindi ko alam if they can hold their bladder on the road.

Im open to any suggestions for Mt. Fuji trip.

anyone had any experience who brought in canned goods (ie: vienna sausage, spam) and had it confiscated? read somewhere nag strict na daw ang japan sa incoming food so i dont know if i can bring in food to japan for our trip (pihikan kasi yun kasama ko, magdadala sana ng food)

^we travelled to Japan last month may mga dala kaming canned foods and noodles. Wala naman naging problema.

Ahh. Noted, sis Huit. Thank you! Hindi na lang daw sasama ang daddy ko kasi mapapagod siya kakalakad. We have decided na sa Osaka na lang muna kami mamasyal. Next year na lang ang Tokyo. I will be reading your travel guide din. Helpful yun sa mga first timers like me.

Pardon me for my ignorance. Sarado ba ang mga places of interest sa Tokyo next year kapag nagstart na ang Olympics? I plan to spend my Birthday in Tokyo. Sabi ng mga officemates ko, wag daw kasi olympics. Sorry pero ano bang mangyayari kapag Olympics? Maraming sarado? Mas mahal ang pamasahe?

Kayang kaya ang DIY. Pero if family better if mag-avail na lang kayo ng tour. Meron yung shared tour sa klook or kkday para cheaper.
