Hip Problems: looking for hip specialist
« on: April 20, 2016, 10:26:16 pm »
Hi everyone! I'm currently experiencing pain in the left groin area (bikini line).

It started when I was sitting indian-style, with my left knee propped up on a weighing scale. When I tried to stand up, it hurt. I dismissed it, but that night, I was lying on my tummy and moved forward by using my legs (parang I pushed my body forward by using my feet and knees). Sumakit ulit siya.

When it started, it was every time I did rotational movement of my left leg (e.g. De kwatro, indian sit). Then, around one week after, there was occasional pain when I stood up or when I stepped sideways (e.g. Getting in or out the car). The frequency of the pain gradually decreased.

I already had my x-ray and plain MRI done pero negative lahat eh, so my doctor just prescribed PT, specifically sa referral, stretching exercises yung ipapagawa. I'm doing it naman pero pansin ko, these are all sa muscle (thighs, buttocks), at limited talaga yung rotational movement dahil nga masakit talaga. I'm sticking to the exercises for 2 weeks but I think I'll see another doctor after that if it doesn't go away. She said she'll refer me to a neuro if ever, but I really would prefer to get a second opinion OR go to a hip specialist na.

Was wondering if anyone can refer to me a hip specialist in Metro Manila, or maybe if someone has also experienced this...

Sobrang nakakainis kasi yung feeling niya. Para siyang stiff neck, but also it feels like it's the joint and not a muscle, dahil pag tumutunog siya (rarely happens), sumasakit din eh.

Hay. Really hope someone can help.

Thank you!

Sis -- super old na ng thread na 'to but I have the same problem as yours so I thought I'd try posting here anyway. Nagpa MRI na ako two days ago pero in 2 days ko pa malalaman ang reading ng orthopedic doctor. It is a suspected hip labral tear pero I am super, super hoping na hindi kasi labral tears DO NOT HEAL. I am so depressed kasi nagba-ballet ako (I am already 41 years old) and I've been dancing for only a year and I really love it. Kung labral tear nga ito, I might need arthroscopic surgery which takes 6 months to recover from (naka-crutches pa). Baka di na ako makabalik sa ballet kasi I don't want to risk it na, and also I am more concerned about my quality of life. Ayoko naman na may pain forever. Even simple things like walking and commuting, masakit. Sole breadwinner pa naman ako ng family ko.

Sorry for the long sharing. So, kamusta ka na ngayon?
