moving out from parents house
« on: April 18, 2016, 01:50:35 pm »
Hello Girls! Lately, I am contemplating decided to move out from my parent's house.

I know this is normal, and I shouldve done it earlier. But I am a single mother with two kids. In fact, mas convenient talaga sa akin to stay at their house kasi it was planned with us in mind, my kids even have their own bedrooms. Plus, I only have a younger brother.

But I am really thinking of moving out, for the following reasons:

1. It will help me become more independent.
2. It will foster stronger ties between the 3 of us.
3. The kids will learn household chores.
4. I will become the sole decision maker.
5. It will mean more freedom for us to do the things we want
6. It will mean lesser gastos na din for the parents

Pero I am also thinking that if we stay,

1. We will have someone to run to in case of problems
2. The parents will have peace of mind
3. The kids will be able to have stronger bonds with my parents

What do you think girls?

^^how old ka na ba sis? financially kaya mo na ba kasi magastos din. yes i agree dun sa live near your parents house. try renting muna, better kung furnished na just to test the water kung keribels mo mag isa kasi mahirap din talaga pag naka bukod ka na. it's no joke.

how old are your kids? are you going to leave them to a yaya? can you trust your yaya na maalagaan niya yung mga bata without your supervision pag sila sila lang ang naiwan sa bahay.

thanks for the replies! I am 30 na and somehow, financially able to support na our needs.

May konting hesitation pero okay naman sa parents ko, my mother actually like it so we can grow more independent din daw. sa kids, gusto ng isa, ayaw ng isa. they are 8 and 10 na, so no need ng yaya. plus, my work allows me to be there for them.

I'm a single mom as well and been thinking of doing this for the longest time rin. we have similar reasons din why I wanna move out. but come to think of it, ang laki ng bahay ng parents ni mama, and if ever I'll leave siya nalang matitira..which wala naman daw problem sa kanya kasi she said she doesn't have to sleep there all the time.

dilemma lang talaga yung maiiwan kid ko sa yaya the whole day while I'm at the office.
pero feel ko na talaga bumukod..I want to be independent na and run my own scene..

ever since I started working I nagging dependent na ako at nakatira na mag isa.
Pero I learn to have financial management nung nagsosolo ako.... at ipush ang aking mga business ventures :-) kaya lahat ito ay TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

Nice to hear success story mo :)
Kung struggle talaga yung food, why don't you buy from diet delivery companies?
Or commission someone in your neighborhood?
Important food for health eh.

On chores, weekly seems normal unless you do have extra time that you spend lounging lang hehe.

Kung lilipat or aalis sa poder ng parents for the first time, i think the best choice would be a condo, than a house.
Just because it is smaller and easier to manage and clean. ;D

Before moving out, I experienced na din to have a dorm kasi I took my board exam and I had to rent-out para di mahirap magcommute.

My first attempt to move-out: Apartment, with a friend, a year siguro kami nagrent. When she moved out (she gave birth to my inaanak), I also decided to move out and return to my parents house. I was 24 then.

My second attempt to move-out: I was 26. I rented a condominium and stayed there for a year again. The owner was selling the unit so I had to move out. I returned to my parents house again.

Then I got married at 27. Since then, my husband and I live independently from our parents. We rented an apartment the first year, while waiting for our condominium to be turned-over. Now, we've moved-in already in our unit. I did not have a hard time adjusting because I had few years to live alone. So I can tend for myself and do household chores.

But at first, the struggle to live independently/my fears were: What if I don't have enough money to cover all my expenses? What if I can't attend to my needs because I'm all by myself? What if I got sick, no one would take care of me? Or if I run into problems, who will help me?

Although I enjoyed living alone, because there are no curfews! And I decide for myself. :)

I've been out of my parents' house since 16. First year college ako nun and pinasok nila ako sa dorm. Of course sila pa ang nagbabayad ng bills nun but I was trained to become independent parin sa household chores (kahit na kinakatamaran ko pa rin kadalasan lol) and also wala na magaasikaso sakin when I'm sick.

When I turned 22, they got me a studio unit in Makati. Minsan binbisita nila ako but most of the time I was alone. Di naman nakakalungkot, sanay narin siguro. Nagpapa-laundry nalang ako para less hassle. Then bili nalang ng lutong bahay sa labas para pinggan nalang huhugasan, no need na magluto.

I'm 29 now and ganyan parin ang lifestyle ko. My dad passed away 4 years ago and I am an only child. Bisi-bisita nalang kaming dalawa hehe.

If kaya mo naman na financially and you really think na doing that would do good to you and your child then go. you can move in to a home near your parents if para madali kayong maka punta sakanila

i moved out from my parent's house when i had the opportunity to work abroad. I was 25 then.

the usual challenges were managing finances, cleaning, cooking, etc lahat ako na gumagawa walang ibang aasahan. It's a good thing i didn't get sick kundi isa din yun sa iisipin pa. Homesickness siempre. Good thing din it's just a few hours away lang from pinas so madali lang byahe.

So that's just some of the things and challenges you'll face when you leave your parent's home.
But it's okay because you'll learn how to be independent, self-reliant, and be more mature and more responsible in a lot of aspects after that.

Honestly when you moved out from your parent's nest you will get a whole lot of respect from them.  Some parents wil feel bad at first pero i swear magiging iba ang magiging pagtingin nila sayo pagkatapos. They will start to see and treat you as an adult and no longer a child na kailangan laging tulungan.  ;)
