Why Some Doctors Charge Patients For Medical Certificate

Hi mga sis,

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this but recently I've been sick and needed to get a medical certificate. Was surprise when the doctor's secretary told me that I have to pay P100 for a med cert.

This is actually not the first time na nagbayad ako for a med cert. I used to have check ups at Friendly Care and whenever I ask for med cert they will charge P50. I thought it's their policy so didn't really care until my recent check up.

So is this the norm na ba nowadays to pay for a med cert? I mean you already paid the consultation fee which ang mahal na mga then another payment for the note?

I just wanted to know what's your take on this especially sa mga GT doctors here.

Ayy  hindi ba dapat wala na since may consultation fee na.

sa opd ng school ko, may bayad din. but kami kami lang namang junior interns ang nagaasikaso plus it is just signed by residents ( i am in no way demeaning the residents, they are my seniors and i am their slave afterall.)

i kinda lift an eyebrow to this, doctor din naman ang tatay at nanay ko but di sila nanghihingi ng bayad for a med cert.

nakaexperience na din ako neto. normally pag naghihingi ako med cert, free lang (i assume part sya ng prof fee na binabayaran mo during consultation) but no, there was this time na nakakaloka ang 1 doc, nagcharge ng 100 pesos for a med cert. naloka din ako ng slight.

Nowadays, pag specialist ang pinuntahan mo. separate fee and medical certificate talaga.  pag Internal medicine or general practitioner, baka free

The first time I was charge of med cert at P500.00, feeling ko nabudol ako. I did not expect it kasi kakatapos lang ng consultation ko (using health card). then I mentioned this part on my FB, my cousin doctor commented. lols! She said maliit lang naman daw yun compared sa  dugo at pawis nila just to be a doctor and to provide us care and --- med cert.

Ok, I rest my case. hehe!

Having to pay P100 for a medical certificate is too expensive. Many places are completely free, a good example is geometry dash bloodbath

Every request becomes unreasonable. It's even completely free. You should ask them to pass five nights at freddy's 4 before any further conditions apply.
