^ I have a BPI Amore Prepaid Visa. No need for maintaining balance. I load it through BPI Express Online or the BPI app. Not sure if may limit siya because I've never used it for bigger purchases pero I don't think meron.

^sis paano pag-load sa prepaid card, as needed lang? may limit din? pasensya na no idea pa ako...and what banks offer prepaid cards?  mukhang nice suggestion to sis, kasi main purpose lang naman talaga ng cc for us is for online booking

I have bpi online banking app. I just load the amount i need. No maintaining balance. Beep card din siya so pwede siya sa mrt and i think other public transpo that uses beep card.

May mga perks din siya and discounts. Sa cinema pag ayala malls and yun ang ginamit mo i think 5% discount ata.

I only load the amount i need. For me mas may peace of mind kasi wala ako iisipin na baka ma charge ng kung ano ano or baka ma double charge etc.

I think other banks offer this as well. Visa yung bpi ko and mastercard sa unionbank. Pag sa abroad ganun din i just load it no need to worry magdala ng madaming cash or ma hack ang cc.

My BDO card was compromised a few months ago. It covered online purchases of cruise tickets and subscriptions to different merchants abroad. Germany, UK, Hong Kong, to name a few. BDO reimbursed the fraudulent charges after more than a month of investigation.

Lesson learned: Never use your credit card for online transactions. Kahit may OTP pa, useless pa din. BDO told me that no matter how much and how often they upgrade, the hackers are upgrading simultaneously with banking institutions. EMV cards can onky protect data to a certain extent. So hindi pa din guarantee.

My suspicion was Klook. They sent an email kasi telling me na I should check my cards dahil may nacompromise daw sila na periods of transactions sa clients nila. But i can nver know for sure since I purchase airline tickets and so many things online. What I did was change all my cards. I maintain 5 so sobrang mahal ng inabot ko sa pagpapa replace. I now use my debit card (still with BDO) for online purchases. I just transfer cash to it then yun na ang ginagamit ko since Visa card naman sya. May CVV and all. I used to use BPI prepaid cards but may ibang merchants ayaw sya so tossed them away kahit pa convenient magtransfer from BPI mobile app.

Anyway, just to share, East West called me several times offering a personal loan up to 2M no collateral. Wala ako account or cc with them. Sabi lang saken is they just have it in their records na I have cc's from other banks which they will use as reference. Although I need money now since I plan to put up a franchise, I'm quite hesitant kasi wala naman nga ako account with them. Has anyone accepted these kinds of offers of loan na gagamitin as reference your cc?

Kasi meron akong apps for citibank, hsbc and ucpb, pero okay naman sila. Naisip ko na ang hirap na nga macontact ang bpi via phone or email, pati ba naman mobile babagal pa, so sana temporary lang ito. Hindi talaga ako makaconnect minsan. Have to log in sa desktop or laptop lang muna, pero may times din na ayaw, though tolerable naman.

^^The new BPI app is mabagal talaga. Maybe because from the Beta version, this is the first full version. The old one naman still works pero minsan hindi na nagpupush through yung transactions. Citibank is the best and most complete for me when it comes to function. HSBC is so-so kasi ang konti ng commands. But their secure key is cool.

^Klook is okay naman sis kasi with Disney ang bilis lang makapasok pag klook tickets. No long lines. So I didn't use Klook there. I suggest you limit lang your Klook purchases. Or isang cc lang gamitin mo when abroad. Suspetsa ko sa Klook talaga ako nahack kasi sila lang nag email saken among all merchants na ininform ko na may hacking nga daw sa system nila. But they told me naman na naayos na yung security nila. Madami daw nacompromise during my batch. This was between December last year to June this year. I always use Klook kasi even for wifi egg and entrance tickets. Will still use it on my next trip. Pero yun nga, just my debit card. Or if need talaga, isang cc lang pag abroad. Para alam ko na agad kung sino suspect na merchants if ever maulit man.

My friend got hacked too BDO cc din. 25k worth of android and google play purchases. She uses Iphone so naibalik sa kanya after investigation.

Nahack na din ako once, a few years ago, using my bpi sa zalora. Ginamit pambili ng online games. Naibalik naman within a week. Ang daming maliliit na transactions that amounted to a lot. For sure mas madami pa nakuha kung hindi ko pa minomonitor yung balance ko nun (because I was checking kung nakuha na ng zalora yung payment kasi wala pa akong confirmation na nareceive, so I was checking it obsessively).

Re: Klook

I also got a message from Klook 2 months ago that my payment card details were compromised. Affected transactions were those made via the website (their previous web provider were able to get customer details) and were paid directly through credit card. If paid through PayPal or sa mobile app ka nagbook, di affected. So hindi naman ako natakot to purchase deals from Klook again, I used na the mobile app instead.

In line with this event, this week lang lumabas ang investigation ng Citibank (which I used to purchase). So I had my credit card blocked and replaced.  I am expecting to receive the reissued cards within 5-7 days.

madami ako cards.

bpi petron and gold - gold, i dont use it. petron naman, sa gas purchase lang. sayang kasi yung rebate na 3 percent
citibank simplicity - nag try lang ako then nabigyan naman. no annual fee.
bdo gold - i just got this card last february 2018. limit is nasa 100k. gulat ako this december, naging 400k yung limit, siguro dahil madalas ko ginagamit. as much as possible, wala ako cash purchase. kung kaya ng card, i use my card. pero sa needs lang.
hsbc red - my first card. dito nakalagay ang iphone at axa plan ko.
and yung latest card ko is yung robinsons bank dos - malaking tulong to kasi any purchase, laging two gives. so i used this nung need ko magbayad ng 10k, ayun. di masyado mabigat.

@mysterioza_me
hi sis. nalaman ko na lang nung pagkalog in ko, naging 400k yung limit ng card. and no, hindi nakamaximize ang 100k. not even 20k for a month, for my personal expense, nasa 7k max lang. straight charge lahat. siguro dahil monthly ko sya ginagamit. nagkaron lang ng malaking purchase when my mom bought a luggage (naka installment pa, after three months pa mabill), i think tinapatan nila yung limit ng HSBC card ko which is my reference card before.

@nataliaesperon2000
yes sis. any amount, for example, bumili ka ng 300 pesos, ang bill mo is 150 (first bill), then yung next bill is 150 ulit. basta, lahat ng purchases mo, 2 gives installment.
