I received a text na from BPI (as in BPI sender name where I receive OTP and notif when I withdraw money) advising na approved na yung credit card. We should be vigilant though. Lesson learned, never ever give any personal information unless tayo tumawag sa bank. Better be safe than sorry..🙂

With regards to consolidation, I have 2 cc kasi sa hsbc with different limit. (one classic and one red) I called them if possible to retain one card na lang, yung red na lang then ginawa, pinaconsolidate lahat ng purchases ko, then nilipat dun sa red card. Tapos yung limit, pinagsama din. Very helpful for me kasi hindi na dalawa ang annual fee at isa na lang ang ipapakiusap ko para magwaive ng annual fee. Dito maluwag si hsbc.

Thank you sis for answering! It's been months since I logged in here hahah. sorry.

I think gayahin na lang kita, pacut ko na rin yung ShopMore before mag1 year. :)

Sis kami naka 1,600 GC from SM. Yung spin and win ng HSBC.

Mga sis hingi lang ng opinio. Planning to buy washing machine kasi na installment. Naisip namin ni hubby na baka mas okay na icredit card yung full payment. tapos sa cc na namin bayaran... okay ba ang citi simplicity+ for that? yun palang kasi nakita ko na no interest for the first 18 months.. tia!

Ako never nananalo sa mga raffle raffle but sulit na sulit ang points and cash back. Got a free american tourister luggage (new card promo) and 2k worth of GC (points conversion). Tapos with my cash back card 500+ per month din ang nase-save namin. 😊

Just sharing what I learned about a month ago. I went to BDO to avail of the balance transfer (utang from other cards to be shouldered by another card/bank para 1 lang isesettle).  Some points:

- Hindi ko mapa-shoulder yung BPI kase wala daw OTC transaction for the repayment (I have to do the balance transfer via BDO hotline)

Nag fill out na ako ng form then isw-swipe na nila yung BDO card (kase they will charge the balance of the other bank to your BDO card -- since sa BDO ako nagpunta -- then saka ia-apply yung terms sa account ko), only to find out na dapat pala yung balance na you are transferring can be accommodated by the card/account being transferred to.  :'( Eh gusto ko nga din sana ipasama yung balance nung sa BDO card mismo kase nga malaki na din, so in short hindi natuloy yung transaction kase nga hindi kaya.

So I'm back to square 1 :-[ hindi pa ako naka-inquire sa BPI though, but I'm guessing it would be the same thing?

I might apply for a personal loan nalang siguro to pay off all 3 cards.

Is it possible to have them 'cut/stop' the card para hindi mag incur ng penalties? Then I'll just repay yung outstanding? Or hindi sila papayag since dun sila kumikita?

1. I did this before. I applied for a personal loan to pay-off my credit card debts. Pero sis, this is tricky. In the long run, mababaon ka sa utang.

In my experience, I used the loan to pay all my credit card balances and had those cut afterwards. Nagretain lang ako ng 2 cards -- my BPI Gold and Citibank Premiermiles. The rest pinaputol ko na.

You need to also change your mindset and lifestyle. After my 'creditcard cleansing', pag nagswi-swipe ako, binabayaran ko agad. YUng rewards na lang ang habol ko. Kasi if I don't discipline myself, uulitin ko lang yung mistakes ko in the past.

2. Credit Card companies will not allow you to cut your card na merong outstanding balance. Mag-iincur sya ng interests and penalties kaya you need to settle agad. :(

^Yes, that's what I'm planning to do na once settled na yung balances for the cards, I'll have it cut na. Will maintain one for me then yung iba, supplementary nalang ako under kay husband (which is for emergency lang & this is the one na mataas na yung limit).

Thanks for the response, sis barbillie! :)

Hi.. I have a credit card before with HSBC, pero na-close na siya dahil nawalan ako ng work bfore.. I think that is 2008 pa.. so napunta sa law firm and den nung sinesettle ko na niloko naman ako nung law firm.. naghuhulog ako sa kanila tapos biglang nawala [textspeak!] taong naghahawag ng accnt ko.. so in short hindi ko n tinuloy [textspeak!] pghuhulog..

So now I'm trying to fix na my credit score.. nagsettle na ko with HSBC last 2016 and nakuha ko na din [textspeak!] Settlement Cert ko.. but now na I'm trying to apply for a new cc or personal loan di parin ako naaapprove.. possible ba na dun parin un? pero I tried na magpa-preapprove for a housing loan kay PNB, AUB and UCPB.. naapprove naman ako.. [textspeak!] sa CC and personal loan lang...  :'(

^ Hi sis. That was sad. What I know is 10 years ang retention period (nung data itself, sa database nila) ng banks for deliquent accounts. I suggest, mag apply ka muna for secured credit cards. BPI, Security Bank, PS Bank, Metrobank offers this kind of credit card. From there, build a good credit score, a very very good credit standing. After a year, try mo na mag apply ng regular credit cards, pero usually kung maganda ang credit standing mo like walang lates sa bayad, in 1 year i a upgrade ka nila sa regular credit card. 😉😉😉

I'd still keep my BPI cc, though, especially for online purchases from overseas. Mahal foreign transaction fee ni Citi hehe.
