That's why mas mataas pala lagi ang payment compared pag kinoconvert ko using current exchange rate. Thanks!

yung charged in peso kasi based sa exchange rate for that particular day

Citibank and HSBC pinakamataas. Security bank walang service fees. Kaya mula ngayun secb na gagamitin ko kapag magpurchase ako online tsaka pag asa abroad.

i always use the local currency (of the country) when purchasing using my bpi cc. mukhang mas mababa sya compared sa magpapapalit akong cash then cash ipang purchase ko. i think mura ang exhange rates ng bpi e. kasi i always use this then minsan nagcompare ako sa friends ko who paid in cash and how much yung palit nila. mas mura parin sakin. hehe

Just got a BPI CC for the first time! Can I use this agad abroad or do I need to call pa?
Also, wala bang way makita agad yung transactions online... per transaction, not just the total used amount? How will we know kung biglang may unknown charge?

I've had a CC with them for ~15 years. Simula pa highschool ako. I pay on time and always in full. All the reward points nagagamit lang to waive the annual fee (~15,000++ points). I use the card frequently... pati abroad for shopping at masaya na ko pag mababa sa 10k ang monthly bill ko. Recently, I had a bad, BAD experience with their email support which really made me decide to switch to BPI  >:( Need bang itawag sa Citibank na I won't be using their card anymore or natural process na ba ang death nun?

TIA!

I have the Citibank premieremiles, I was able to use it sa MIASCOR and plaza premium lounge.  Also, I earned skymiles to add to my delta miles for free flights.  Mas convenient than my BPI kasi 1 mile = 30 PHP unlike yung BPI ko 1 mille - 45 PHP.    :)

But with BPI CC, I was able to get free flights from delta from points accumulation converted to skymiles kaso mga 10 years of accumulation din sha.

Hello sis!
Question, for payments via credit card tapus USD yung payment, [textspeak!] normally yung ginagamit na exhange rate ng banks? Is  it really higher than the normal day exchange rate? Thanks!

^In my case, mas better yun forex rates using credit card vs. both  the ATM withdrawal rates and even the selling rate of the currency in the PH.

Pwede pambili yung Thank You Pts sa Citi ah. 10 pts 1 peso. So, ang 300 pesos spend mo katumbas piso na rebate.

And.

Before going abroad itinatawag ko muna kasi baka ma-tag as fraud yung transaction bigla blocked si card saklap nun.

With my Citibank Rewards card, I was able to pay my bill using my rewards points. P1500 din yun.

With my BPI Skymiles, di ko pa nagagamit yung miles na accumulate ko fro 5 yrs of using their CC. Naka ilang Jolibee meals and bucket meals din ako sa kanila for that span.

I am thinking to close ang isa sa kanila, im choosing between BPI and Citibank. kaya lang, pareho mataas limit nila and who knows kailanganin ko, so im torn. Tsk.

^ naloko ako both sa Citibank and BPI. When I decided to apply for a CC, ang sabi ng agents, FREE for LIFE, come after a year, may annual FEE charge ako. Nakipag diskusyon pa ko over the phone. Pero buti na lang ni waive nila.

sa Pag waive ng annual fee, no hassle ang citibank, in my exp.
With BPI, oo marami sila requirement tapos half lang ni waive. :P

@xtine

@ayami
Supplementary card from my dad yung card ko nung HS ciempre... and then naging principal card holder when I started working.
What are Thank You points? Is it the same as reward points?
Parang hindi ganyan for me... like I spent Php 24,912 = 1074 reward points = Php 10.74 equivalent lang

^^Ay mga Sisses ko, mga 5 years ko lang pala sha naaccumulate not 10 years.  Sorry!

I always pay using my bpi credit card before and I have previous skymiles so technically,

MNL to LAX flight via delta on an off peak only needs 60,000 skymiles before  at meron na akong around 15,000 existing skymiles, therefore, i only needed 45,000 delta miles.

1 skymile = 45 php.
45,000 skymiles = PHP 2,025,000 in 60 months (amount need to charge to BPI CC)

PHP 2,025,000 / 60 months = PHP 33,750 BPI credit card charge per month.

So what I did was use my bpi credit card to pay for groceries, uber, other expenses except utilities.  But i try to pay it before printing of the bank statement para di mag charge ng interest.  Since nagagamit ko sha, I was able to waive my annual fees every year.

After that, I was able to book 1 roundtrip MNL - LAX for free on dec - jan dates (offpeak), I only paid the tax which is PHP5,000 lang for the whole flight.  Tapos nakakalibre pa ako ng lunch dahil sa jolibee free meal ni BPI, pati Chowking to the point na nanawa na kami dahil umiikot lang sa free jolibee and chowking. :p

Pero ngayon, i found citibank premiermiles earns more skymiles at 1 skymiles = 30 php

so if I want to earn 60,000 skymiles (RT manila - Los angeles via Delta airlines)

60,000 skymiles * 30 php = 1,800,000 PHP  charged to your citibank credit card

so that's 30,000 PHP a month for 5 years.  You can use your CC to pay your groceries, fuel, eating out, uber, grab, all other expenses.  But you don't need 60 months, baka maipon na sha by 7th year (84 months).

If you're faithful and able to charge more than, say, 100,000 php on your card annually, pwede ipawaive ang annual membership fee.  But you need to make sure you pay it before due date.

Kahit surgery ko dinaan ko sa credit card, pero pay immediately or suck the installment interest charges.

You just need to make your credit cards work for you, that is, you will pay off the all your charges before the due date.
