^ they usually waive the annual fees. Huwag ka magbabayad nyan! Mani gas sila. Look for other cc na waived annual fee.

1. Research potential Issuing banks where you would want to have a credit card. Consider:
1.1 Madami ba silang affiliate merchants? If it's MasterCard or Visa, most likely accepted din yan worldwide.
1.2 Madali bang magbayad, i.e. over the counter, bayad centers, online payment etc. My savings account and credit card are in one bank. So it's easy to pay monthly dues.

2. Select the type of card you would want to open.
2.1 Gagamitin mo ba for groceries, or for gas, or for travel? Banks offer a wide variety of cards that will fit your need.
2.2 Okay ba ang security? Some cards are magnetic stripe lang ang feature. Some banks are EMV (like BPI), so mas okay ang security features.

3. Prepare the documentary requirements and apply either personally or electronically. Banks usually ask for Proof of Identification, Proof of Income and Proof of Billing. So be ready with those. You'll have to fill up an application form and just submit it to the accounts officer.

Once they receive your application, they will validate your application and conduct background checks. If you pass this, your card will be delivered to you within 5-7 banking days.

We don't really know eh.

Sana may pre approved na sila for that. Just wondering!

Nakapasok pa sa free for life promo a year ago. May joint checking account kami (yung Ka-Negosyo kahit wala naman kaming biz) doon since 2012. Pero sya lang binigyan ng card haha

How about HSBC? Metrobank?

My first credit card was HSBC, but I was a supplementary card holder of my dad sa BPI nya. I opened both my SA and CA in BPI, they issued me a credit card, no application needed.

Maybe you can open a credit card where your other accounts are. This will give you better scoring/credit rating and may increase your chances to be approved.

I have BPI and Metrobank na and thinking of getting either BDO or Citibank.  Which is better?

I try to apply sa BPI kasi may promo sila last June na free annaul fee for the first year, hindi ko na inaasahan na maaapprove ako.

So putol na ang PremierMiles ko and Cashback ko with them.

Also, mas madala din kasi kami mamili sa SM malls kaya for us mas okay BDO

I have HSBC Platinum, for about 3 years na ata. I never paid naman ng annual fee kase once na nagrequest naman ako to waive it mabilis naman nila inaaproved. Same goes to my Eastwest Bank din. :)
