My husband is a trader. Although he has a job, he usually wake up early since we are based abroad. Mas malaki kasi kita sa mga bagger stocks compared to blue chips. HOWEVER, the risk is high as well. I, on the other hand prefers blue chips but if I have time, I'll try yung hard core trading. Dapat din malaki ang puhunan in order makagain ng marami. Risky. Super. Pero if you know the game, mataas ang returns.

nakakatuwa, dumadami na tayong newbies sa stocks. Para sakin, naiisip ko nga kung mas OK ba na dito mag invest for long term against mga pre-need companies. I checked yung performance against sa VUL ko parang mas ok to, pero siyempre 10 years ago wala akong alam sa stocks, kaya ok na rin.

I'm not familiar sa mga pre-need companies. Pero in terms of choosing investing in stocks for long term will always depend on your lifestyle. Example, kung lagi ka busy or tamad magbasa ng mga corporate news, better invest in something else that doesn't need your hands-on time. But if willing ka magmake time to learn about it and masgusto mo may hands-on control sa pera, pwede long term sa stocks.

i'll use my dad's friend as an example. retired na siya, all his kids are adults and financially stable na. he got a lot of extra cash to invest in anything. Suggest namin mag real estate investment siya kasi malaki naman returns as long as tama yun mabili niyang lot or condo unit. But sabi niya hindi siya ganun. Tamad siya tumingin tingin ng mga lupa. He tried stocks and nagustuhan niya kasi mahilig siya magbasa and masprefer niya sa bahay (At the same time he can spend time with his grandkids).

Meron ba dito bumili ng CHP nuon? kasi i was able to buy 600 shares dati. 100 boardlots nuon.  nakikita ko ng bumababa kaso i ignored thinking il sell it when i want it. sinubukan ko ng ibenta kanina aba ang board lots na niya ay 1000 na.. patay!! hindi ko na lam gagawin ngayon since i only have 600 shares lang. kahit bumili pako ng stocks niya para maibenta ko yung remaining still 1000 boardlots  parin ang allowed unlike nuon 100 lang.

does it mean goodbye na yun 600 shares ko dun? sana may makasagot. salamat.

Sis, planning to do swing trade narin, pero meron paring ako naka stick for long term. Medyo confused lang ako, if swing trading ba mahalaga paring may knowledge about technical analysis if blue chip naman?

I opened an account with col, first metro and wealth. Everything is under my name. Yun col acct, although under my name, the money is my parents' kasi tamad sila magopen ng account. And, I heard hindi advisable to use COL if full time trader kasi sa sobrang daming clients nila, minsan naghahang, Sakto long term investor naman parents ko. you just need 5k to open an account

First metro is for my long term investment using my own money. You should open an account with metrobank muna. If walang malapit na metrobank sa iyo, huwag niyo na itong piliin. So far no problem in trading during market hours. Hindi lang nagoopen yun website nila on my apple tablet. But using the android app, no problem.

Wealth Sec is for my short term trading. I use android app to trade. so far no problem.

My friend has acct with philstocks. He lives near Binondo kasi and open din sila ng saturday. 5k minimum requirement.

Gusto ko magopen ng account with timson, ang ganda kasi ng itsura haha 10k minimum nila. Kaso sayang kasi I'm not a full time trader. And they don't have any app, kailangan windows ata gamit.

Yes, important pa rin you have knowledge on TA even if blue chip. Kasi although blue chips are the "safest", it's better if you know the proper entry. Example, if a bluechip stock is currently on a downtrend, wouldn't it be better if you let the downtrend finish before buying rather than buy during midway through the downtrend? at least masmakakamura ka kung tapos na downtrend

Hi! I Have a noob question in Peso-cost-averaging method. For example, I started a retirement fund by buying 10k worth of shares from company XYZ then I invested 5k each month. After 10 years, the stock price is lower than when I started the investment so when I retire and sell it, I will be losing money big time and all the money invested in 10 years will be poured down the drain. Is this scenario possible?

^Yes, very possible. There are a number of stocks that are worse off today than 10 years ago. One is AUB (Asia United Bank). Akala mo safe na kasi banko, but no. Many mining companies are also the same. Same story with CDC (Cityland), even with condos all over the metro. PIP (Pepsi-Cola). And lets not forget CAL (Calata).
