^ganyan din plan ko gawin sis. 2 Blue chips for loooooooong term per may max amount lang kami per stock. Then 1-2 stocks ulit for swing trade kapag enough na knowledge ko to trade. :)

sa mga sisters na nag pca, considered as averaging parin ba if nakapag skip ng 1 month? Hindi ako nakabili last sept, ang end of the month pala ay weekend. Hays.

nakakatuwa, dumadami na tayong newbies sa stocks. Para sakin, naiisip ko nga kung mas OK ba na dito mag invest for long term against mga pre-need companies. I checked yung performance against sa VUL ko parang mas ok to, pero siyempre 10 years ago wala akong alam sa stocks, kaya ok na rin.

There are lots of ways, on how to Invest in the stock market. :) Pero I can say, that Investing for Long-Term is really the Real Key. I've been surprised when I checked my Portfolio in my 2nd year of Investing, grabe. Magic happens when you let the compounding happens.

^This. Agree. :)

I am just confused with how compounding works in stock market? Diba dapat you should lock in profits (by selling stocks) then reinvest it on cheaper stocks? Ganun ba para maachieve ang compounding? Or thru yung PCA? I have my portfolio and isang beses pa lang yata ako nagbenta, so ngayon may stock ako na almost 35% na ang gain, so iniisip ko na dapat ba ibenta ko na siya para mangyari yung compounding effect?

Please if could anyone enlighten me, salamat sa mga sasagot! :)

^---By principle, compounding happens when the interest or gain of your capital was re-invested or added into the capital and was able to gain again.

Thereby, if we follow this rule, let's say stock A was bought at P50 per share.  After 3 months, the price per share reached P60.  The owner sells that to lock in the profit of P10 (P60-P50).  Afterwards, the price of stock A dropped again to P52 per share.  You again buy this stock hoping to again gain when it reached that P60 for the 2nd time.  This time, you paid P52, and had a changed of P8 left at your wallet.

On the 2nd time, stock A again reached P60 and you've managed to sell at that price point, for another gain of P8 (P60-P52).

Now, you're total gain is P16.  P8 from the 1st time you bought and sell stock A, and another P8 from the 2nd time you bought stock A.

All the while you're capital is not P100, but that P50 that you've put into your stock wallet.

The 2nd P8 is the compounded gain.  Since you used the profit on your 1st time to buy a stock  (P2) and it manages to again profit your some money.

Trading pala ang dating niyan sis. Medyo long-term kasi ang horizon ko. May compounding din ba sa long-term? Thanks

^---Same... the scenario is saying that the price surged shortly after buying, just to show how the compounding works.  Pero alam naman natin na hindi naman parating ganun ang isang stock.

The price change might also be negligible to your decision making and stock game plan.

For me, I like look for the TP before selling a stock.

Maybe you are looking for an exact formula of how to get the compounding effect.  Don't worry, there's no exact formula.  The target is to beat PSEi.  How you make this happen would depend on your game plan and risk appetite.

Nakakaiyak talaga sis.. nakakaiyak sa tuwa.. :D 104 ang average cost ko. Nung bumili ako ng share, plan ko i-sell after a year. Pero nagbago na isip ko, after 10 years na lang. Retirement stock. Hehe.

who here is doing trading/stocks as their source of income? Meron ba talaga?

Lesson learned, pag walang time mag analyze at magbantay, stick to blue chip-investing na lang. Leave the day trading to those who have time. Just waiting for my TUGS to turn green para maibenta ko na rin. No more penny stocks for me unless I get really bored LOL.

Holding on to my EEI kahit bagsak for now. I still believe it's a good choice for long term. :D
