parang naka aircon ka lang pag 3rd week of november - pero pag humangin - yun ang di kaya. napabili ako ng knee length coat when i was in osaka and the weather was only about 10degrees celsius.  buti na lang naka sale na winter clothes sa uniqlo so bought some heattech leggings na rin.

Hi Does anyone here na nasubukan na yung iiwan muna ilang days yung room nila in Tokyo for 3 to 4 days since magiikot muna sa Osaka then balik ulit? I wonder if I have to notified yung hotel na mawawala kami ng ilang days pero nakabook kami until pagbalik namin.

what we did is ask the hostel we were staying if they allow storage of luggage (for free) for a few days since we will be going to Osaka, then returning to Tokyo afterwards.

we landed in tokyo (i had an overnight stay already) then took a trip to Osaka for a few more days, leaving some of our clothes at the hostel since we will be returning to the same hostel for our Tokyo stay.

we did not pay for the room while we are out since we are not there naman, we just left our luggage with them. its your risk na lang - pero clothes lang naman laman ng luggage namin. when we checked in again after coming back to Tokyo - we just got back our luggage from them.

for fushimi inari - i suggest you go really early (like 6-7 am) - para at least less people. pag later in the day kasi, ang daming tour groups. easy to go to lang naman since its just across the JR Inari Station

Kiyomizu-dera Temple - some areas are closed for renovation until March 2020 though so those are covered up.

if you love train rides - try the Sagano Scenic Railway in Kyoto. https://www.jrailpass.com/blog/sagano-romantic-train
Its in the Arashiyama area - actually pagbaba mo ng JR Saga Arashiyama station - andun na sa Saga-Torokko station. i suggest you get reserved seats if you will go. kakaaliw din yun train ride - medyo matagal lang - about 30 minute ride. i took it on a November so the autumn colors are soo pretty.

for the pasalubong - try Don Quixote for both edibles and cosmetics - tax free pa (depends on whether you meet the minimum amount) and they have soo many branches :) there are also magnets (if you're a fan of country magnets like me) and they are pretty cheap there.

Places we visited:

TOKYO (5 Days) -- will post in Tokyo thread. :)

KYOTO (2 Days)
Day 1: Fushimi Inari Shrine, Higashiyama District, Kiyomizudera Temple, Yasaka Pagoda, Yasaka Shrine, Maruyama Park, Gion, Dinner at Pontocho Alley
Day 2: Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, Tenryuji, Kinkakuji, Nijo Castle, Kyoto Imperial Palace, Nishiki Market, Kyoto Tower

OSAKA (4 Days)
Day 1: Shitennoji Temple, Osaka Aquarium, Tempozan Ferris Wheel, Shopping at Shinsaibashi
Day 2: Universal Studios Japan, Dinner at Dotonbori
Day 3: Osaka Castle, Nara (Kofokuji, Todaiji Temple, Nara Park, Kasuga-Taisha Shrine
Day 4: Nipponbashi/Denden Town, Osaka Museum of Housing and Living, Kurumon Ichiba Market

Tips:
1. Get the Kyoto Bus Pass - late na namin nalaman, so puro kami JR Pass and SUICA IC card lang. Mas makakatipid daw if you get the bus pass.
2. If you want to take photos sa Arashiyama and Fushimi, go there early. As in 6AM para walang bomber sa pictures mo.
3. Try the local food. Sa Kyoto Pontocho Alley, pricey yung food pero if you're able to pick a good restaurant, value for money naman. Sa Dotonbori, same. Yung mga famous resto, mahaba pila so be patient lang sa paghihintay. :)
4. Wear comfy shoes. Japan is a big marathon race for me. :)

Hello.
Few questions. :)
1. We will visiting Osaka for 7 days. Is it OK to book accommodation sa Osaka lang? Or dapat lipat lipat?

Siguro 3 days Osaka, 2 days Kyoto, 1 day Kobe, 1 day Nara.

2. Any Hotel suggestions? Not keen sa airbnb (got bad experience before :()

Thanks.

^ sis, you can stay sa Osaka na lang, malalapit lang mga places na yan para hinde na magpalipat lipat pa.
even without taking the shinkansen (bullet train), it will not take you more than an hour to reach them.
Just get a train pass na suited sa itinerary nyo, perhaps JR Kansai Pass? soa JR Passes lang ako familiar, not sure about the others.

maybe add Himeji Castle na din? not sure if you really need 1 whole day in Kobe, baka pwedeng half day lang (actually kain lang ng Kobe Beef ang itinerary ko dun  ;D ) then half day or probably less sa Himeji.

^^ agree with ficklemind.

did a solo temple run last  year - and made Osaka my base (since i usually have dinner sa Dotonbori :))   better use of your time to have one base kasi di ka mag checkout/checkin sa places. the train naman is until 11pm mostly (safe to say its until 11 than saying they run until midnight) so makakabalik ka pa sa Osaka

i got the 4day Kansai Area Pass and visited Nara, Kyoto, Himeji, Rokko

i love Himeji Castle - and my brother and i did the Castle walk the last time - as in we went up Himeji Castle where the stairs gets smaller and steeper as you climb up. Himeji Castle is one of the original castles and was not destroyed so you get to see how it was to live back then or if you just wanted to see what a castle looks like from the inside :)

Thanks a lot Keilu and Fickleminded.
Sige, might stay in Osaka as my base nalang din. :)
Hehe.

3 days Osaka
2 days Kyoto
1 day Nara
1 day Kobe/Himeji

May itinerary kayo for Kyoto 2 days?
OK na din balikan yun diba from Osaka, No need to stay in Kyoto for 2 nights?

^ yes sis, ok lang magbalikan for 2 days sa Kyoto from Osaka.

Usually dorm room na siya or airbnb without breakfast. Mahirap this time kasi we will be traveling with my mom.

True!

Sis, try Hotel Zipangi or Hotel Mikado. Nakapag book ako ng good for 4 pax.
