Maternity Benefits (SSS/Philhealth)

I couldn't find a thread on SSS maternity benefits so I made one. Sorry if there's a duplicate thread.

Seeking your advice on this.

I got married last August 2015 and I am 29 weeks pregnant now. I already have a copy of my marriage certificate authenticated by NSO.

Do I need to change my status and name in SSS and Philhealth so I can avail maternity benefits? Haven't filed my MAT1 yet and I'm planning to do so in the next couple of weeks.

If no need naman to change name and status prior to giving birth, is my marriage certificate enough para sa documents ni baby? I mean for my baby's birth certificate and hospital records?

Sis, my advise is file Mat 1 na since you're in 29th week already. You need to notify SSS asap. Fill up the form and attach the ultrasound film and report and copy of your valid id. The report can be photocopy, but the film should be original. It doesnt matter kung updated na status mo. They will stamp and return to you the form. Dont loose them.

Then after that, you can update your status thru E4. You need to bring the orig marriage contract and a copy. They wont get the original copy, for reference only.

Next, you can file Mat 2 after giving birth. This is for reimbursement. You can write your married name on the form na. It doesnt matter kung single name yung nasa Mat 1 mo. Makikita naman nila sa system na nag update kana. Attach requirements, they will give you list naman. One of the important requirement is the Certified thru copy of registered birth cert from your municipal.

Make it sure na meron ka ng ID na married name. You will use it for encashment for the check. You can encash the check within 3months.

For Philhealth naman, you will need to update your status ASAP. They will give you MDR stating na updated na status mo. Makukuha mo yung within the day din. Priority naman nila ang mga pregnant so no need to queu na. Then you need to present the MDR plus 6months present contribution prior to the delivery month to the hospital before giving birth kasi diretso kaltas na yun sa bill.

Go and update your status now while you are still pregnant so you need not queue.  That's what I love being pregnant, the benefit of not falling in line.

Mga sis ilang days ba standard na maternity leave sa normal? yung current kasi yung 100 days hindi pa naman naibaba.

Im due sa april, ok lang ba hindi ko pa bayad yung first quarter of the year? Will i still be able to claim my sss maternity benefits? Updated naman payment ko last year

^^Maternity leave for NSD is 60 days and 75 days for CS.  The 100 days is not yet into law. May dadaanan pa yan after it was passed by the Senate.  I was also hoping that it will be fully implemented before I give birth but seems no hope.

If employed naman, si employer na ang bahala magfile lahat diba? then if magcclaim, pwde irequest na ideposit sa bank account mo? not sure, but anyone here have an idea?

^If employed submit the requirements to your HR or whoever is incharge.  They will submit it to SSS.  Now, the employer will pay you in advance the SSS benefits.  Nasa arrangement nyo na yan ng employer mo if gusto mo ideposit nila sa bank account mo.  SSS will refund the benefits to your employer so the check will be payable to the employer not to the employee.

You just need to submit the required documents to your employer.

In our company, our maternity benefits are being advanced already, released before mag start yung leave. Company na lang nag cclaim sa SSS. I'm just not so sure if this should be the scenario all the time.

Hmm i was just talking to 2 lawyers, and since the senate passed the 100 day maternity leave Jan 18, sabi nila dapat daw by end of Feb law na sya. Kasi the President is only given 30 days to either sign or veto the law. If no action is done, automatic law na. Still waiting for official publication though. Praying cause I give birth end of March!

^hi mga sis what if nag pasa ka ng mat1 hindi kapa kasal .tapos nag pakasal ka after mo manganak, pano pag nag pasa ako sa mat2 pwede koba hindi paalam sa sss na nag pakasal na ako para wala na mahabang process?

Hindi ka pa kasal nung nagpasa ka ng MAT 1.  Then nagpakasal ka after mo manganak?  Just after ka ba manganganak tsaka ka magpapakasal?  And after ka makasal bago ka magsubmit ng MAT 2? 
You can submit naman the MAT 2 before ka ikasal eh after giving birth.  But in case ikakasal ka muna before filling your MAT2, isabay mo na rin isubmit marriage contract ninyo para ma-update status mo.  No bearing yun sa pagfile mo ng MAT 1 as single.  Pag labas ng cheke mo, payable na to your married name.

sorry magulo sis, what i mean is before pala ako manganak.
preggy kase ako ngayon 2months and balak ko mag pasa ng mat1 sa 5mos ko.
e hindi pa kase namen alam kung anung month kame mag civil wedding bago ako manganak
may question is pwede koba ipasa ang mat2 na hindi sasabihin sa kanila na kasal na ako.?

Ang alam Ko pwede yata as long as you declared na buntis Ka ngayon then may pipirma from SSS then ibabalik sayo yun at huwag mo iwawala. Kasi nga marami cases daw ngayon na buntis pero Di kasal or not in good terms with the guy. Okay Lang naman saknila yun.  Basta mahalaga sis mag notify Ka sknila that you are pregnant.
