For those who are asking how much capital will be needed to start their business, maraming factors ang dapat i-consider to determine kung magkano ang kelangan na capital.

Location:
-- Is it homebased or office based?
-- If office based, do you own the space or will you rent it?
-- If you will rent the space, how much is the rent?
-- What are the terms (advance and deposit)?

Construction:
-- Are you gonna hire a contractor or you will be the one to coordinate with carpenters, painters, electrician etc?
-- Are you gonna hire an architect/interior designer or not?
-- What embellishments do you need to prettify the place? (depends on what kind of business you're putting up)
-- How much do you think will you use for construction (materials and labor)? (depends on how big the area is and how complicated is the design)

Equipment: (depends on what kind of business you're going to put up)
-- What equipment do you need? (Ex. chairs, tables, computer, printer, machines/gadgets needed etc.)
-- Are you going to buy brand new ones or second hand ones?
-- How much will it cost to buy them?
-- If it has to be installed, how much will it cost to install them? (ex. aircon)

Documents:
-- How much will it cost to register your business? (DTI, Mayor's Permit, BIR, etc)

Supplies:
-- What supplies do you need? (the actual supplies/inventory, office supplies etc)

Once nasulat mo na lahat and na-add mo na yung total nun, yun na yung start-up cost pero hindi pa yun ang capital. You now have to determine naman your monthly operating costs. Add the rent, monthly tax, bills, salaries, buying of supplies and other monthly expenses. Get the sum and multiply it by 3 or 6 or 12. Eto yung months. You have to prepare that in case matumal ang benta, may pambayad ka parin sa bills, rent, salaries etc. kasi if wala kang naka-reserve na money, mahirap talaga and nakakastress maghabol ng rent.

So this is the formula:

Start-up Cost + (Monthly Operating Costs x 3) = CAPITAL

Hi ladies!

My bestfriend and I are planning to start a business. She's into crafts, mga tahi tahi ganyan. We're going to sell her creations. If it were up to me, mas ok ata na mga ready made na ang ibebenta kesa we take of production as well. But she's having clinical depression kasi and she finds sewing therapeutic so okay lang. I'll be here to support her. She'll do the production and I'm in charge of the marketing, sales, customer service, and inquiry.

Baka you have any tips for us aside from the ones already mentioned in this thread? Mga first timers pa lang kami. I really want to help her and I'm hoping na this venture can help her.

Pasali ako. I'm thinking of resigning sa day job ko para itry magbusiness ng sewing. Gustong gusto ko na talaga umalis sa work, halos araw araw umiiyak ako bago pumasok. Kaso di ko pa magawang umalis kasi may mga bills na bayarin. Sa mga nagresign sa work, pano nyo nalaman kelan ang right time to quit your job? Nagipon ba muna kayo ng pangbuhay nyo for a few months? Ilang months worth of salary ang inipon nyo?

Sis, OFW ako at ang ginagawa ko nag iinvest muna sa stocks at mutual funds para kapag mag business na sa Philippines ay may puhunan + cushion ako. God bless!

Currently at the concept stage -- studying the business model, researching on the market and potential suppliers, developing the brand, etc. I'm also considering getting a partner because I have a full-time job and I'm studying. On one hand, I want to be the one to decide everything that will go into the business. On the other, I know I cannot manage this on my own because I'm already busy as it is (I don't even have time to condition my hair!). Just thinking about the regulatory requirements is already making my head spin.

Anyway, my best friend thinks that I should launch the business on my own. I honestly think that won't work. There are too many components. One person can't ensure all of them will go off without a hitch.

Oh well. Let's see.

we have a business. So far ang laki ng capital nasa 480k inabot namin. Tapos breakeven lang kami. Minsan hindi pa namin nakukuha puhunan sa bawat buwan.

Though nakatulong kami sa ibang tao na magkaroon ng trabaho. Pero kami as negosyante wala. Sooner yung mga machine na binili namin siguroo magtatagal lang ng 3-5 years.

Compute ko nalang na dapat per month may amount na babalik. Pero yun nga madalas hindi nakakpagbigay kasi kulang ang dahil mataas ang operating expense.

Anyway charge to experience nalang ang mahal ng experience.

For me, kung may may malaki talaga na capital. I'll go for rental business. Walang lugi and stable lang yung income per month. Like what my mom did. Sa una hindi pa mararamdaman yung kita but in the near future makakatulong din.

my sister resigned from her job to focus on her child and her husband is working naman but i doubt that it is sufficient to support her family. Luckily, my father, who is working abroad, is helping my sisters family financially. So i decided to lend her a capital to start her online shop and physical store. Small capital lang naman and small boutique. So far so good naman (she is at her 3rd week since she opened her store), may days na malakas, may days na mahina daw. But i think okay din sya kasi after 2weeks nya nakaipon na sya ng for next month's rental payment nya. Sana lang magtuloy tuloy na and seryosohin nya talaga
