Hi mga sis. I started this thread para sa mga entrepreneurs na nag-start palang sa business. We can  brainstorm ideas, share advice, and work through challenges together.  As for me madaming struggles ang pinagdadaanan namin sa start up namin. nalugi na kami twice sa negosyo, bankarote talaga, baon sa utang. kaya back to work ako while si husband nagstart ulit ng bagong business. isa palang nagiging client namin,  tapos madaming bills hehe so pahirapan. kayo mga sis, kamusta ang start up business niyo?

Hi Sis. I think this is  a good thread to start. I have resigned from my 8-5 job and focused in business. You are right, maraming challenges but I would say na sobra namang fulfilling pag na surpass mo yung mga trials. We had challenges like partners na hindi nagreremit on time nung kita, to open or not open a store, competition, even supplier info hihingin ng mga tao. Grabe. Hope all other GTalkers would share their experience and advise.

Hello mga sis! This is the thread that I need I am an OFW .. mom of 1 handsome 1 year old boy and wife to a very loving husband. The catch is I am the one working abroad and I really want to figure out ano ba ang business that would suit me. Ano ba dapat ang basis?

I am an online reseller mga sis, and we started last June lang. so far okay ang sales, and patok sa mga mommies na may anak.
Sobrang okay yung benta namin, malaki naipundar namin, kaso last December, nagkaroon ng prob dun sa courier na gamit namin. Nag close sila bigla and yung mga pinaship namin na orders during peak season (i can say na madami talaga) - eh ayun hindi nareceive ng customers on time. And dahil ayaw namin masira ang name na naitayo namin, we had to refund thec ustomers. Unfortunately, 3 DAYS after namin mairefund yung binayad ng customers namin, biglang nirelease ng courier yung packages sa mga undelivered packages to customers. Kaya ayun, doble doble nakuha ng mga customers namin. but then, not all customers are honest. hehe! Lesson learned talaga samin yun, and malaki din ang inabonohan namin. kaya ngayon, todo bawi nalaang. I believe sa isang negosyo hindi talaga mawawala ng problems. Mga sis, try nyo basahin yung book ni Bo Sanchez, yung How to Turn your Passion into Profit. I just started reading the book, and i must say, sobrang ganda nya. Must have sya sa mga kakasimula palang ng negosyo

Thank you sa pagshare ng experience sis katrinac. I will also check the book that you recommended. Also mga sis one thing na nagkamali ako for 6 months of operation e yung costing and pricing. Sana may makapagshare kung pano gagawin.

Thanks sa pag-share mga sis. Totoo parang araw araw may problema tayo maeencounter. kasama ata talaga yun.  Sis mearah, when it comes to pricing ginagawa namin. sineset namin yung tubo na gusto namin tapos inaadd namin yung mga expenses. lahat sis ng expenses, kahit gas, food, time spent, lahat nililista namin. Pero dapat acceptable yung price sa market hehe baka masyado mahal di bumenta hehe.

sis redberry12 I think dapat kung magbusiness ng malayo. make sure na may trusted kang partner na mag-manage dito sa philippines. you can start with something na magaling ka at yung partner mo. yung mga kilala kong abroad,  nag-iinvest sila sa real estate properties kasi hindi kailangan bantayan.

Pasali ako. I'm thinking of resigning sa day job ko para itry magbusiness ng sewing. Gustong gusto ko na talaga umalis sa work, halos araw araw umiiyak ako bago pumasok. Kaso di ko pa magawang umalis kasi may mga bills na bayarin. Sa mga nagresign sa work, pano nyo nalaman kelan ang right time to quit your job? Nagipon ba muna kayo ng pangbuhay nyo for a few months? Ilang months worth of salary ang inipon nyo?

^ sis i resigned having 6 months worth of salary for my expenses. Siguro for you simulan mo munang i sideline ang business mo and see if it is feasible for you to resign. Also if ang problem mo is toxic na workplace, you might want to consider applying to a different company. Business is tough I should say so if hindi buo yung loob mo and if you will soley depend on it for your expenses mahihirapan ka.

Sis wag ka magreresign. Hindi kasagutan ang business sa situation mo ngayon. I believe if you left unhappy sa work mo you will be unhappy sa next phase mo. You need to search muna why and what is wrong with the workplace. Next is try the same work in a different workplace. But never ever resign.
I was working for a bpo 12 yrs. Then i opened my store. Sabay work ha night shift then un store for 9 months bago ako nagresign. Ayoko pa nga e kasi malaki rin ang sweldo pero nun nagopen na ako ng 2nd branch kelangan na bumitaw.

I agree with sis workforce and mearah. Ganyan nangyari samin ni husband biglang resign. nung nalugi una business, bankrupt kami tapos nagkautang pa. ngayon ako nalang work, habang si husband sa business. mas okay kung may work ka habang business, tyaga lang talaga. or may at least 6 months worth of salary to support yourself habang nasa business. I agree na try mo rin mag-apply sa iba

wag muna mag resign sis, kaya mo yan. Kailangan, stable na ang business mo and talagang you can say you're really earning sa negosyo then pwede ka na umalis and venture at palaguin yung business mo.

Share ko lang, i am a fulltime working mom, plus night shift and we have an online shop. Mahirap ang demand kasi, unti unti na talagang dumadami ang customers.  Sa isang araw, i'm blessed na na makatulong ng 2-3 hours kasi even if i am resting, nasagot padin ako ng mga inquiries and order confirmation.

Sabi ni Bo Sanchez, ang current  job hindi basta basta parin dapat iwanan kung may negosyo na. Kung msasabi mo ng isa kang millionaire at talaga nakita na, then that's the time na pwede ka na magresign. Pero if sa tingin mo di pa talaga kaya ng finances, bakit mo iiwanan ang work na stable na talaga mismo. Hindi sa lahat kasi ng oras pati, okay ang sales, hindi araw araw ay pasko =)

Kaya mo yan sis, try mo lang hanap pa ng ikakasaya mo. Baka kasi pag umalis ka, in the long run, magsisi pa ikaw, and mas mahirap iyon.

Ako sis sa totoo lang, yung kinikita namin sa shop namin ngayon, mas malaki pa sa sweldo na nakukuha ko per day. 4,000 net namin usually pinakamababa na siguro 1500 per day. Pero sa ngayon, wala pa ako balak iwanan ang work kasi again, not all the time, okay ang sales.

ako naman eh ofw, now gusto ko na bumalikng pinas. Pagod na ko, yun lang wala pa masyado ipon, pero makakabalik naman ako sa call center na enough naman to sustain my needs plus onting ipon para sa business...hayss ano kaya ang magandang business now.

Well, I am an online seller rin shoes and sandals yung mge items ko. Medyo nag aadjust pa rin sa selling since mahirap mag stock ng marami. So most of the time made to order. Nag iisip pa ko paano magiging diskarte lalo sa shipping kasi yung ibang rider di naman pumupunta.

hi, pasali din mga sis. Share ko lang. Nagsisimula din kame ni husband ng property management company, Architect si husband, working sa office. I admit medyo malaki ang kailangan puhunan para maestablish namin ito at hindi pa sapat yung pera namin, and I think sobrang matatagalan pa kung iipunin namin yun. So naisip kong simulan na namin basta diskartihan lang, Tinry ko ipromote sya online muna, at magrender kame services within metro manila, ako ang gumawa ng website, ads etc., and so far, ok naman. Madami akong narerecieve na mga inquiries at mga ibang gustong magpagawa samin. Ang hirap, c husband ang nakakaalam ng operation sa business at ako naman, nasa process of learning pa, Naaawa ako sa kanya minsan dahil sobrang stressed na sya dahil nagsasabay work at business, pero alam ko naman na tyaga lang talaga.

Positive ako dito, pero iniisip ko lang since tinuloy ko sya na limited lang ang pang-initial capital, pang 3 mos lang ang computation ko sa lahat, (ads,personnel,docs,etc). So in short 3mos trial kapag hindi nagwork. tigil na namin... Sapat naba yung 3mos? kasi alam ko atleast 6mos dapat nagrurun bago magdeclare na ititigil na. Ano sa tingin nyo mga sissies?

My family is also into business but they're in the province. This will be my first time to run my own business without my parents help. May guidance ng konti pero since hindi naman eto ang line of Business nila, medyo hindi din sila familiar.

I am actually planning to open a Laundry Business. I am currently working and is earning ok. But I wanted to have my own business sana.

Would you recommend that I resign from my work and concentrate sa business once operational na siya?

I am actually thinking that I can use my salary parang pang sweldo din sa mga tao and at the same time, tulong narin kay Hubby. Pero not sure kung kaya ko?"

Any comments, suggestions or insights about this?

@chocola - sa akin mas maganda if 6 months ang assessment period - kung ang launch nyo is soft-launch pa lang and marami ka nang inquiries na nakukuha, tuloy mo na up to 6 months. Kasi wala ka naman inuupahan na office and staff - yan 2 pinakacostly na overhead. ang 3-month period kasi hindi pa nag nnormalize ang operations. Pero if kulang ka na sa tao, eg. your hubby's technical expertise, baka puede kayo ask ng tulong sa dating classmates ni hubby mo or interns para tumulong. No contracts - eg. per day or per week or per project bayad. Good luck! 

@kiz_mel1109 - dont quit your job yet. if puede ka mag leave for a few weeks during the time you expect the business to require your physical presence and attention, yun pinaka okay na set up. You can also ask your boss na baka puede kang short days or short week (eg. M,T,W na lang work) for up to 6 months - which you would know by then if you still want your job or just want to focus on your business. Mahirap talaga sa set up, and initial launch. I'm in the same boat now, trying to get our business set up. But it never occurred to me to quit my job. Pang extra ko lang kasi yun negosyo, and wala kasing physical shop - so online presence lang, which i hope i can manage remotely. Good luck!

Anyone here set up a small corporation while employed full time? Wala pa kasi response HR namin alam ko no issues naman dapat yun right?
