Hello everyone! Balak kong umuwi this year. Tanong ko lang pano kayo naguuwi ng pera sa pinas? Kailangan ko kasing mag-uwi ng mga $10,000 may kailangan kasi akong bayaran. Natatakot akong magdala ng dollars pauwi kasi baka manakawan ako. Kung credit card naman talo ako sa palitan. Kung dito ko naman sa abroad ipapapalit yung dollars ko for peso mukhang maliit din palitan. Any suggestions? Thank you.

If you don't have a bank account, try Western Union or the like. Just be sure to bring all your ID's when you get your cash.

Sis, keep in mind that you might also be held by TSA for possessing extravagant amount of money and might question you of intentions for the money. It's not illegal to carry that amount, but be aware of these possibilities. I suggest to check with the person you're dealing with if s/he is accepting check payment. Foreign checks can be deposited to anyone's account, but takes a while (up to a month) to be cleared. I think you will only have to pay 100 pesos to deposit foreign issued checks. Also take note if you are planning to use services like moneygram, western union, remitly, xoom, any remittance amount of over USD1000 is subject to investigation. If you're residing in US, they will obtain your SSN and bank info. And you might also be subject to taxation. So far wala naman untoward incidences na nangyari sa amin. I had to bring/send large amount din noon (ie. funeral expenses) pero wala naman akong naging hassles.
