I had LASIK in 2003 or 2004 at American Eye Center. For the first 10 year I had perfect vision. Now I'm back to wearing glasses so please be very sure that your prescription is stable because you might end up like me. Sayang lang.

As you age or as the years go by magde-degenerate din yung grade ng mata mo.  How fast or slow na magdegenerate yung mata mo will depend on how you take care of them after the procedure. Pag abuso ka sa mata mo then mas mabilis masisira ulit yung mata mo.

Thanks sis!! Pero given na 425 na grade ng mata ko. Tumaas nanaman, parang worth it pa din siya. Todo alaga nga lang siguro after. Which is mejo mahirap given na whole day ako nakatitig sa compute.

I had my lasik last 2013, so far malinaw pa din ang mata ko and hindi na laging dry. It cost me only 35k for both eyes(I got a groupon discount hehe!). The clinic is in Robinson's place manila, I forgot the exact name

I had this done about 15 years ago. at that time, my eyesight was really bad, -675 on one with astigmatism and -700 on the other.  there was no pain at all associated with the surgery and days after. and it's quick, like less than 10 minutes for the whole procedure. the only inconveniences I experienced are slight sensitivity to light and they burn when sweat gets inside.  also, it's more painful when something hits the front of the eyes, like water from the shower or from accidental taps.  so the surgery afforded me 10 years of not having to wear contacts and glasses.  mine was not perfect vision since the surgery did not fix the astigmatism.
now I'm back to having to wear prescription glasses, nearsightedness came back with a grade of -250.  this is still so much better than the -700 I had before lasik.

Hello Sissies. Planning to have Lasik this April. but still undecided where to do. Torn between Shinagawa (almost of my friend did their Lasik here) and American Eye (based on google they are the pioneer of Lasik procedure in the Phils.). Sis? Where you did your treatment and what kind of procedure and how much? then any side effects after the treatment? Coz Im reading some of them having this sensitivity to light or dryness.

The options you mentioned are pretty good. The exact procedure will depend on the result of the screening. For my patients, we discuss the pros and cons of the procedures which would benefit them and then decide which to go for. Light sensitivity is common for many patients. So is dryness. Though these are mostly transient and part of the healing process. They generally disappear within 6 months.

There is no pain during the procedure. Please understand that there is no surgical procedure in existence to day that is 100% risk free. I tell my patients that it is like crossing the street... we usually reach the other side of the road without really thinking about it pero we are never 100% sure na hindi tayo mababanga while crossing the street . The trick is to find the right procedure, right doctor, right eye center for you so that we can minimize the risk na "pumalya".

The changes we make during the laser procedure are permanent. On rare occasions, the eyeball itself changes so there is some change in the grade of the eye.  To say that there is a "time limit" after which all the effects of the laser will completely reverse itself ( like cinderalla after midnight ) is a myth

I had my lasik treatment 12 years ago at american eye center, my grade before was -1200 , highest on that month sabi nong nurse who did the screening. But 2 years ago, I'm back to wearing glasses with grade -300. I still recommend this to friends who have high grades, kase sobrang ginhawa naman talga for me. I'm considering to undergo reenhancement but now I'm 39 yo. Di ako sure kung worth it pa ba, baka maglasses din ako ulit.
