Easy and Healthy Packed Lunch for work
« on: December 30, 2015, 05:46:00 pm »
Please share your recipe naman.
Gusto ko sana iwas sa processed food. I don't have kitchen skills din, so sana yung mga madadali lang.

Invest on an electric steamer. Automatic off na yun. I will just add condiments (mga Asian ang fave ko) and then go na!

you can also steam fish and tofu :)

pasali! :D struggle ko ito :( Kase I want fresh, home cooked food.

Not sure if healthy.. but so far.. What I do is just buy a loaf of bread..hide it in my personal pedestal or locker.. then magbaon ng can of tuna or kahit yun lang, i leave that sa locker... if gusto ko mas masarap, maglagay ako ng mayonnaise. hehe so basically yung can linagyan ko ng mayonnaise then mix then gawing spread sa sandwich ko.

ayoko kase na iprepare in advance BECAUSE i loathe soggy sandwiches. di naman din ako ng veggie so walang magabsorb ng juices ng palaman..

hoping to get other tips.. snack din kung pwede. hehe

Baked chicken and veggies ;)
Just season and then leave in the oven while you get ready for work.

slow cooker/ crock pot recipes work wonders too. You just have to choose healthy ingredients. I cook big batches on weekends, kaya naka portion size and meal planning throughout the week.

How about just bring some veggie smoothie? That's what I usually have for my lunch.

Gawa kayo ng bento, that's what I do :) Bento is good for portion control too. Also, you don't have to make them really cute. To make bentos visually appealing, add color. Cherry tomatoes, corn kernels, green and red bell pepper, carrots. A general rule of bento is 1/2 of the container should be rice, 1/4 colorful veggies and 1/4 protein but you can customize the portions too. Also, another healthy eating rule is to make sure that you have at least 5 colors in your bento. Tapos cabbage/broccoli/French beans (green),  squash (orange), tomato (red) and so on.

I stand by the slow cooker. Maraming recipes online and halos lahat madali. You just need to leave it on tapos maluluto yung food overnight.

I make Chicken sandwich spread at home (chicken breast, mayo, white onions ans crushed pineapple) and bring some to the office. Or minsan cheese pimiento or egg spread naman.

madalas yung baon ko is leftover from breakfast at home.

when i feel like it, i bring salad. -- lettuce, tuna (or any leftover meat like longganisa, etc), nuts, fruit slices if meron, chia seeds and honey for dressing.

minsan naman nilagang saging na saba for merienda. or i buy bagel sa S&R, plus cream cheese. solved na. :)
