I was like that before, pero narealize ko na without an emergency fund, I was not a very good investor. Pag bumaba yung stocks, medyo panic ako because baka kailanganin ko yung money and be forced to sell at a loss. But now that I have an emergency fund, mas kalmado na ako sa stock investing and I made better decisions. So I really recommend building an emergency fund before investing.
Kaya siguro ganito ako sis kase single pa ako. May fallback pa, if ever something bad happens. If may own familiy na ako, naku, ganyan din siguro mararamdaman ko so dapat unahin talaga yung emergency fund. Mahihirapan akong magpigil nito, lalo na super down ang market ngayon. Hehe. May na set aside na akong 3 months na emergency fund, gusto ko lang ma-reach yung 6 months kase yun ang recommended diba. :)

1. Reduced shopping especially for the first half of 2016
2. Reduced spending on food, especially on coffee
3. Save for 3rd payment of VUL in Jan 2017
4. Additional savings equivalent to VUL annual payment
5. MF/UITF investment(?)
6. Save up for 8-day trip to Japan in November

Whew. Sana ma-achieve! Really need to do 1&2 para maachieve yung 4-6!

I have finally gotten started with one of my 2016 goals: just this afternoon, I signed-up for a  memorial plan with st. peter, 650.00 per month (eto yung 2nd to the cheapest na plan nila, 625.00 being the cheapest na monthly :D)

Hopefully, makasimula na din ako with the rest of my 2016 goals :D

my updated 2016 goals:

1.  pay utangs 1st quarter of 2016 (hopefully matapos or else hanggang 2nd quarter ang pagbabayad :()
2.  build up my savings
3.  build my emergency fund
4.  get a memorial plan
5.  make sure to deposit monthly to my son's account kahit pakonti-konti
6.  save for my son's educational plan
7.  save for christmas 2016

Nakakamotivate naman magbasa ng goals ninyo  :D

I'm turning 26 this year. I live alone, w/c means I pay rent, bills, groceries, more bills and other stuff. I've been working for 4 years already pero mga 1 year ago lang since I really started saving up. Huhu. Yung income ko comes mainly from my day job. No business or raket altough sporadically may writing gigs (God knows gaano kaliit kita dun). For 2016, goal ko talaga mas maging financially literate. So, far eto ang targets ko:

-mag 6 figures ang savings
-add about 10K to existing mutual funds (im treating this as my emergency fund since highly conservative naman. or should i not? hmm)
-invest in equities
-get an insurance
-clear up college loan (about 4 to 5K ito)
-invest in a really nice gadget this year!

Good luck sa atin, ladies! :)

My goals for this year is almost the same with you guys.

1.  Fill up my emergency fund as we used most of it with my delivery
2.  Open a new savings account - we had a really stormy 2015 and Thank God we are recovering bit by bit
3.  Pay up for the first memorial plan year for husband and I
4. Save more for my Son's Trust Fund.
5. Get our house keys.
6. Save for Christmas Present - Last December 2015 kasi since galing kami sa stormy situation, we did not manage to save up for gifts. This year we aim to give more!
7. Pay up my Salary Loan With SSS.

I hope we can all achieve our Goals at the end of 2016. Let's pray for each other mga sis!

Nakaka motivate ang mga financial goals nyo mga sissies. Thank you for sharing them :)

Ako kasi madalas puro plano lang pero di ko naman namimeet goals ko kaya this year binago ko strategy ko. I made a list of my goals for each month of the year

JANUARY - Settle Real Estate Taxes/Partial payment for Loan#1 (accomplished)
FEBRUARY - Save for the renewal of vehicle registration/Pay quarterly SSS Contribution of my dad (accomplished)
MARCH -  Settle Loan#1
APRIL - Settle Loan#2 (Yes madami kami utang mag asawa  :( nagloan kami when we put up a small business)
MAY - Save for vehicle repairs
JUNE - (Hopefully bayad na mga utang namin by this time) Save 2,000/month for emergency fund/Open a bank account and save 8,000 monthly

Yan lang muna sa ngayon. Mas effective sakin yung ganitong style of planning kasi kapag nakikita kong may na-aacomplish ako mas namomotivate ako.

^Congrats, Atemai! Mukhang you are doing really well!  :D

Share din ako. The goals I posted were:

1. Continue saving and investing 50% of income - In January and Feb, we managed to save only 30% lang :(

2. Continue our debt-free lifestyle (no mortgage, no car payments, no credit cards) - CHECK

3. Buy a certain number of index fund shares monthly, kahit ano direction ng market - CHECK - I automated this.

4. Pay off the investment/rental property ASAP - CHECK - I've been putting money in a separate account for this.

5. Live a little - CHECK! Been giving ourselves little rewards, like a new camera for our upcoming trips this year.

ang bilis ng panahon! konting kembot lang March na agad.
Here's what I've ~achieved~ so far:

-mag 6 figures ang savings - few kembots pa para makalahati
-add about 10K to existing mutual funds (im treating this as my emergency fund since highly conservative naman. or should i not? hmm) - will buy shares by end of the month
-invest in equities - still pooling money for this
-get an insurance - Pru or Sunlife siguro but this is after April kasi may tinatapos pang hulugan
-clear up college loan (about 4 to 5K ito) - oh nooooooo
-invest in a really nice gadget this year! - might use my 13th mo pay for this

An aside: I just tried doing the envelope system. It's super effective! Nakakatulong sya to achieve my financial goals. Ang challenge lang ay maging consistent but so far so good :)

Go, go, go, ladies! :)

My goal for this year is financial freedom- to zero out my credit card and live without it. I requested the bank to restructure my credit card balance and pay it via installment for 1 year using a lower interest rate. Good thing BPI came up with a .59% card to cash program. I compared the finance charges (for not paying the card in full) vs the monthly interest on my loan, malaking savings. Hopefully by the end of the year, goodbye to credit card na ko.

Me and my husband, our financial goal for this year
- pay our housing loan within 3 years
- been starting to build emergency fund up to 6 months
- started my VUL insurance, my husband will do the same after the targeted amount of emergency fund
- been started to invest in stock sa COL (not on regular basis, basta may pera)
- will get out of debt on my credit card na matatapos na din by next month.

Good luck to us!  ;)
