Continuation from 2015..

Continue paying the memorial plan.
Add more funds for checking account.
Add more funds for BPI Maxi Saver.
Maintain at least 2 credit cards. Ipaputol ko na yung the rest.
Get a health insurance for myself and for my mom since single pa ako.

I am thankful that we were able to reach our goal for 2015..for 2016,  we are hoping to reach our target savings of 2M..this means we need to regularly save at least 150 to 200k per month..hopefully ma-maintain namin

We also have to allot at least 200k for our travel fund

We need to learn pa about stocks, mf etc coz lahat ng savings namin nasa bank deposit (joint acct) lang.

- baby fund
- double our emergency fund
- increase our travel fund by 50% this year

Medyo maraming additional expenses for 2016 since we will be moving to a new (read: more expensive) place, we're expecting a baby, we bought a car. I'm very positive though, kakayanin! :-)

3. Continuous tithing (10% of my gross salary)
4. Religiously monthly makapaginvest sa stocks (10% ulit of my gross salary)
5. Wedding, honeymoon and marriage start-up budget (10% ulit of my gross salary)
6. Magtipid pa more!! Limit eating out/movies/pasyal (max of twice a month)
8. Makakuha na ng VUL sa 1st last quarter of 2015 after the wedding
Sana pagbalik ko dito sa thread after 1 year achieve at least 70% of my goals :) :) :)

Yan ang goals ko last year, I did not achieve 70%, however I am proud to say na kami lang ang nag-finance sa wedding, honeymoon and marriage start-up namin. Wala kami hiningi sa families kahit piso. :)
For 2016:
1.   We are targeting to complete our EF.
2.   Makakuha na ng VUL by 2nd quarter.

My financial goal for 2016: MAWALAN NG UTANG!  :-\

Off topic: Nagdecide kami ni bf na magsave na ng pera to start by January 2016. Since starting palang naman ang relationship namin (haha), i suggested mag-alkansya nalang kami. haha. wala din kaming goal na bibilhin at the end. basta makapagipon lang daw. can you guys suggest on how to do it? or any other ideas?  ::) TIA!

PS: IDK where to post it. so yeah, OT. hehe.

It's a good start sis.Kase napag uusapan nyo na yung about sa money, and you also have the same goal.
So my suggestion is "52 Weeks Money Challenge". search mo lang if pano. Medyo maliit lang mase-save dito.
Or if your decided talaga to save, start ka na save mo 5% ng salary mo then increase mo ng paunti unti.
Keep in mind:  SALARY-SAVINGS=EXPENSES
 ;)

My husband has better budgeting skills compared to me. I look after our documents and files and he takes care of the finances. We both work full time and we used to have separate bank accounts. What we did as our initial step is get rid of both bank accounts and started a joint one, where our salaries are deposited every pay. Under this joint account, we have sub accounts where we allocate our budget and savings for holidays, kids, remittances, first home, bills and expenses etc. Lahat naka plan na even our annual car maintenance and registrations, including our son's tuition next year. The money is automatically transferred to these accounts, so tonight kita mo na buong salary, next day wala na kasi napamahagi na sa sub accounts. What's left is all I can spend. we got rid of 2 out of 3 credit cards as well.
For 2016, our main goal is to save the amount required  for the construction of our first home. 2015 kasi na-settle na namin yung Lot, yay! Goal namin yun and achieve naman. it's a 620 m2 lot amounting to $180,000 aud so next na yung construction and wagas  na pagtitipid ang ginagawa namin as of now haha! Excited for our future 4BR house. :)
We are saving for our baby as well, my due date will be in June. Wala naman gastos ang birthing dito, everything is free but having the baby alone, buying baby stuff and accessories ay mahal din.
Target ko din the emergency funds. how do you girls compute your EF na equivalent to 3 months and is that the ideal?
I also enrolled into a course that will help boost my future job applications para mas ok ang compensation. That will add up to our combined family income. Para while I am on my maternity leave, may nagagawa din ako para sa career.

Oh my.
Meron ako nitong 2015, 1k per cut off pero nawalan ako ng work mahabang panahon kaya naubos din. Nagshopping ban din ako for 6 months at no eating out for 3 months including fast foods. Carinderia lang dapat pag nasa office. Lol.

Ngayong 2016, uulitin ko.

- 1000 pesos every sahod
- Matapos ang credit card balances
- Save 50k before year ends
- Invest at least 20k stocks
- P30-P50 a day para sa 30th bday on 2017.

Baby steps muna this year.

^nag shopping ban din ako ngayong 2015. Pero kinailangan din magshopping for more comfortable clothing and flats because I got pregnant.

Congrats, sis! Bilib ako sa mga tao who don't take out mortgages to buy their home. It takes discipline to really save up and pay cash for a house. Best of luck to you.

Ako naman for 2016:

1. Continue saving and investing 50% of income
2. Continue our debt-free lifestyle (no mortgage, no car payments, no credit cards)
3. Buy a certain number of index fund shares monthly, kahit ano direction ng market
4. Pay off the investment/rental property ASAP

And also, live a little. Sobrang frugal ko yata nung 2014 to 2015. Di na tama. So i will enjoy a bit this year.

Thank you for this thread. It's nice to post and share para maging accountable ako sa sarili  ko. And also so i can look back and see if i actually meet my financial goals.

I guess I must write this somewhere para mapaalala ko sa sarili ko palagi

1500 or 2k per payout for personal savings (thank you Security Bank eSecure Savings ang dali lang i-manage online)
1000 per payout travel fund (mainly making ipon for our trip to Cambodia in May, but will continue even after that)
1000 per payout joint savings with bf

expecting our bonus by the end of February 2016
1/3 of it should go to personal savings acct
1/3 UITF
the remainder will be reward/pang splurge

I dont go to church regularly so, I don't really do tithing, but I'm donating monthly sa isang foundation

Sana mapanindigan ko to!

1. Finish building up my Safety Fund that's worth 6 months of expenses (eto pinakamahirap for me. I'm too aggressive kase, iniinvest ko kaagad sa stocks kahit alam kong mali haha. I need to discipline myself)
2. Reach my desired net worth.
3. Save 60-70% of my income (I splurged a lot last year now I'm feeling guilty :-\).
4. Deposit 2k every month to build up my Travel Fund.

I was like that before, pero narealize ko na without an emergency fund, I was not a very good investor. Pag bumaba yung stocks, medyo panic ako because baka kailanganin ko yung money and be forced to sell at a loss. But now that I have an emergency fund, mas kalmado na ako sa stock investing and I made better decisions. So I really recommend building an emergency fund before investing.
