Hi! Just need an advice from you guys. Im 36 yrs old and wala akong savings. I have here 10 thousand pesos. Im thinking na iinvest na lang yung pera ko sa mutual fund. Pero gusto ko din sana gamitin yung pera para makakuha ng bahay. Bayad sana for reservation.

Kung uunahin ko yung bahay, monthly na ko magbabayad dun. Baka mahirapan na ko makapag-invest sa MF.

Ano po sa tingin nyo dapat unahin ko?

Thanks.

^sis, usually eto yung kailangan mo punuin (in order of priority)
1. Clean up debt
2. Build up emergency fund (3-6 months worth of salary)
3. Get insurance (to protect income if you have dependents)
4. Invest

Never invest money that you need to use, say in a few months time for something important. Long term kase ang investment. Especially if equity (stocks) ang kukunin mo. Maganda ang return, but you need to keep it for at least 5 years.

Kung kaya ng budget mo. You can invest 5k first sa MF. Then mag add ka na lang monthly (pwede kahit 1k monthly lang). At least naka start ka na. Then ipon ka na lang ulit ng another 5k para pang puno ng reservatio fee for the house.

What's the difference of investing MF via COL over directly through the company (i.e. Philequity)

^for me mas madaling mag-invest in mutual funds via COL para isang lugar na lang lahat. the fees are reasonable, too. and mas sanay na kasi ako sa website ng COL.

Investing in mutual funds through COL:
+ You only have to submit one set of application forms
+ You gain access to more mutual funds from ALFM, First Metro, Philam, Philequity, Sun Life, and ATRKE
+ Adding to your investment can be done in one mouse click. No need to fill up a reinvestment form and submit requirements every time
+ All your funds are in one easy-to-monitor table
+ You will be invited to both COL's and the mutual fund's seminars, briefings, and stockholder meetings
- CON: COL now deducts a deposit fee of anywhere from P4 up to P110 when you add funds to your account

Investing directly to the mutual fund:
+ You get regular reports and updates on your investment
+ You have the option to open multiple accounts in a single fund, and even open an ITF account for a minor
+ Additional investments can be made at zero fees
- CON: Aside from limited mutual fund choices, you also have to fill out and submit forms each time you make an investment
- CON: If you are invested in mutual funds from different companies, you have to monitor them individually

Question: Do other mutual funds conduct annual stockholder's meeting and investor's briefing/ market outlook too? I'm with Philequity right now. Just wondering if may iba pang gumagawa nun.

^ Yes. It is part of shareholders' rights to be able to attend shareholders meetings.. if you signed the Proxy Form, you will be represented by the incumbent President of the Fund that you bought shares in, to cast the vote on your behalf should there be any voting rites exercised. But if you are physically present in the meeting then the Proxy Form will not apply.

^Check mo yung website ng Philequity. Pwede mo i-submit yung account opening forms to any of their "designated eBiz branches."

Being in the province is no longer a reason to not invest in this digital age. Kung ang OFW nga nakaka-open ng account.

Philequity Fund pa rin ba ang top Mutual Fund? Ang tagal bumaba ng PSEi hindi tuloy ako makapasok. I'm all cash-ready and will start my retirement plan as soon as PSEi drops kahit 7K lang.

Was looking at PIFA for some Balanced Funds and ATRKE Philippine Balanced Fund caught my attention. Is this a stable company ba? Want to invest in balanced funds for diversification purposes.

^ Kakatingin ko lang sa PIFA sis, ATRKE Equity Opportunity Fund beat Philequity Fund based on recent figures.

Hindi kase ako familiar sa name. Sana may magreply. :) TIA.

Hello!

I was checking bdo's uitf navpu, ang daming klase palang uitf! I'm not familiar with these investments but after watching francisco colayco on tv, I've thought why not give it a try. yun nga lang, nangangamote ako sa pagcomprehend ng kalakaran dito. From backreading the previous thread, someone said she'd rather continue investing in uitf. Sa mga may ganitong investment, can you suggest institutions/banks where i could invest in? Thanks in advance!

Ask ko lang, paano ang bilang ng holding period ng mutual funds sa Philequity and Sun Life, calendar or banking days?
