hi sissies yannuh and twinxz, i guess the billings method wasn't discussed during the marriage seminars/engage encounters in the philippines, it was introduced to us during our engaged encounter here in sg. it's basically a natural family planning method that is endorsed by the catholic church - it is a way to avoid and achieve pregnancy. we actually went through a separate seminar early october about how the method works and how to do it and we've been meeting the experts every month. it's important to get a specialist to teach you and guide you through the method.

at it's core, it's really about monitoring your own body and how it works. they gave us a printed spreadsheet where we would record my vaginal discharge at the end of every single day. there are different types of vaginal discharge like menstrual blood and cervical mucus. once you start monitoring the discharge, you get familiar with how your body works. it works even for women with irregular cycles. i have a weirdly long cycle and we were still successful.

so what you want to watch out for is the cervical mucus discharge, which is actually physical evidence of your fertile period. at the beginning of the fertile period, it's usually off-white in color and pasty but as you go through your fertile period towards your peak fertility, it becomes clearer and stretchier and it is almost watery at the peak of your fertility. after peak fertility, you will be dry - this will happen the day after peak fertility. so it must be during your fertile period (when you have mucus) that you try to conceive because it's your highest chance of getting pregnant. the mucus helps the sperm travel through the vagina and thus giving the sperm a higher chance of reaching the egg and fertilizing it.

in order to monitor the mucus, we actually chart what happens at the end of every day. so i put in whether i'm dry and there is no mucus, or i'm wet and i have my period, or i'm wet and i have cervical discharge. you also have to describe the discharge. it helps to use wet wipes because you'll really see it, usually after you pee. after just 2 months, we could already see a pattern emerging of how long my fertile period was and when it happens.

of course, it's best to consult with the expert. i wish they also had free one-on-one discussions there in the philippines like we have here.

here's a link to their website - http://billings.life/en/how-the-billings-ovulation-method-can-help.html

this was very long but i hope it helps!  ;D

Super THANK YOU mga sissies :)  :-*

At my age (34) medyo nag alangan ako na baka nga di ako agad magbuntis, but no...with God's blessing during the wedding nag concieve ako agad.
Tiwala lang saka prayers mga sis, sa right time ibibigay din yun. :)

It's a good share sis 120515. Thanks for sharing that sa mga sissy natin dito.

Have a great day everyone!  :)

When a Woman Inspires Her Husband - it's a good read. Umpisa pa lang ako sa pagbabasa pero dami ko na natututunan about sa ating husband. Mas lalo mo sila maiintindihan bakit ganun ang mga lalaki (in general) haha! Will also teach us to be more selfless lalo na ngayong hindi na tayo nag-iisa sa buhay. :)

Wow, very informative sis 120515!! Bakit ganon, nung nag precana kami wala namang diniscuss na ganyan. Nung kumuha nga kami ng documents sa city hall supposed to be kelangan namin mag-attend ng family planning seminar, pero when the people there found out who my Tatay is, di na daw kami kelangan mag-attend. Lol. Tsaka of age na naman daw kami, haha. Oh well. Only in the PH.

Sis yannuh, sabi nga diba, the secret to a long lasting partnership is to always go back to how you were in your first 90 days as a couple. Always relive the happy days. :) Oh diba may sarili tayong Married section dito. Lol

^Congrats again sis moana, truth yan, pag binigay talaga ni God, perfect timing palagi, kaya to those who are trying, it will come in His time talaga. Never stop trying and praying. :)

There are a lot of good books to read for married couples. One that I highly recommend is Steve Harvey's Straight Talk, No Chaser. Yes this is the same Steve from Ms. Universe. Hehe. Binasa ko na to before before pa and it did help me in dealing with my then-boyfriend now husband. Also, currently, we're reading the Love Language Minute Devotional ni Gary Chapman. We get to discuss the daily topics every night before we sleep. This is especially helpful I think for those partners who are not very vocal of their thoughts and feelings. It really encourages one to express his/herself.

Happy married life to all of us!!!

Sis yannuh, I still watch our SDE every now & then. Still makes me feel kilig. Also reminds me how happy and in love we are which is great, especially when nakakainis si husband. Wahaha!

Sis simang, oo nga eh! Ipagpatuloy natin ito. Hahaha. It's so depressing on the other thread eh :p

@120515
thank you so much sis sa very long but informative discussion mo ng billing's method. unfortunately, its true na wala nyan dito sa pinas. thank you din sa pag-describe mo ng discharges. i started monitoring mine upon downloading ovia app. same na same concept ng sinabi mo. difference lang is app na sa phone yung ovia (nagrerecord ako every evening), yung sa inyo is more on spreadsheets yata. :)

@simang
sis yan din yung book na gusto ko basahin every night with husband, kaso di pa ako nakakabili ng book. nakakalimutan ko :( My love language kasi is more of service, i forgot the exact term. may passages na din sa bible kaya multi purpose na sya :)
