Hi Guys, where do you usually buy groceries? We usually go to SM supermarket kasi kumpleto sila doon eh. Masyado bang mahal doon sa sm supermarket compared sa ibang bilihan like pure gold, landmark? Please, I wanna hear your thoughts about this. We have just recently moved into our own house and kami na ang nag-babudget para sa aming food.

Yung iba sa akin savemore like sabon, shampoo, diaper..etc

Minsan namalengke ako ng hotdog sa palengke grabe 10 pesos ang difference nila sa savemore. Masyadong mahal sa savemore. So pagka isda, karne, vegetable mas ok talaga sa palengke nalang.

For 15 days ang budget ko is 1700 kasama na bigas na 10kilos. Mas makakamura talaga pag sa wet market mamili ingat nga lang sa mga mandadaya sa timabangan. Pag groceries naman sa savemore kami para sa SM Advantage points sayang din kasi.

Mas mura din sa Super 8 sis if you have Super8 in your area. I agree hindi mura sa Puregold akala lang ng marami mura sa Puregold.  Pero dito sa Cavite may mas mura pang small groceries sa mga yan yung Emilus kaso ang haba ng pila kasi mga namimili mga sari sari store owners. Minsan check nyo din kung san namimili mga sari sari store owners kahit sa palengke kasi for sure mura dun kaya sila dun namimili lalo na kung basics lang ang bibilhin nyo.

Groceries / Household items we buy sa Pioneer Supermarket (Pasig City) - we used to do our grocery sa SM Supermarket (Megamall) but after namin macompare yung prices sa Pioneer almost Php500 din ang natitipid namin sa monthly groceries sa Pioneer Centre.

For mga pang-ulam naman like beef, pork, veggies etc, we buy sa wet market (Pasig palengke). Super mura ng veggies and meat, kasi bagsakan talaga sya, and super madaming nagtitinda and namimili. When it comes to meat, i prefer din to buy sa wet market kesa sa groceries because of freshness of the meat, just be sure lang na marunong kang tumingin ng meat, and may trusted ka ng suki sa palengke.

SM supermarket and Savemore have the highest prices than any supermarket chain.  Have you ever noticed walang bumibili ng paninda nila doon?

#1 Wag mag grocery ng gutom 😬. Pansin ko kung ano anong nailalagay ko sa push cart pag nag grocery ng hindi pa nakakakain 😂.

#2 Rewards / Advantage card. Sayang ang points. Malaking bagay din yun lalo na pag naipon.

yes, tama mga sis, wet market ang the best sa mga meat
tapos local groceries (kung saan namimili yung mga sari sari store) naman kung basic needs lang, talo lang talaga sa pila since madamihan ang bili ng iba kasi nga pangtinda tapos ako basic needs lang.. hehe.. 

and then meron talagang needs na sa malalaking supermarket lang mabibili tulad ng cereals at maramihang bili ng toiletries eh sa s&r, kapag spices at chicha, mas trip ko landmark kasi nga tulad ng sabi ko, mas maraming choices dun..  pero usually once a month lang ang punta ko sa mga ito or kapag napapadaan isasabay ng mamili..

1. If we will use Gift Certificate, we go to SM Supermarket. But they are a bit ore expensive than other supermarkets.
2. We prefer landmark and puregold.
3. Before I go to the grocery, I make the night before. I also create a weekly menu.
4. I separate the items that i can buy in the Market and from the grocery Stores.
5. Vegetables, Fruits and Fish I buy it in the market.
6. For the cold cuts, I only buy from the Grocery Store. Ayaw ni husband kasi alam niyo naman dito sa Manila, may double dead. hehe
7. I also make sure that I check the kitchen cabinets para alam ko kung may kulang or kailangan na i replenish.
8. I make sure that I stick to my budget. Medyo na memorize ko narin yung mga prices ng goods na madalas kong bilhin, so malalaman ko agad kung mag over na ako sa budget
9. We also prefer to buy from Specialty stores. Like japanese, Chinese, Korean, etc. Mas mura kasi siya dun compared sa grocery stores din.

stocking trick kasi yan. usually kasi, nasa eye level yung mga mahal at nasa sobrang taas o sobrang baba yung mga mas mura.

malaking bagay ang mga advantage/loyalty cards.

I've only found a few items at SM Hypermarket that cost a little less than those two, but they're all pretty much the same.

The only time I shop at SM Supermarket, Savemore, and Hypermarket is if I'm desperate.  It's kind of like buying at a convenient store.

The price difference between SM and Puregold or Landmark varies.  Local brands will cost P5 to P15 more.  Imported brands will be around P30 to P60 more.

Advantage card is useless.  You'll only earn enough to pay for the renewal.

I agree with you sis. Kaya ako sa bandand baba talaga ng shelves tumitingin. 
 
And about sa advantage/loyalty cards, super agree din. I have a BDO rewards card at hindi ko alam na umabot na sa 12k ang points ko which is equivalent to 12k pesos din. So instead na sa puregold ako maggrocery since mas mura, sa sm hypermarket ako dahil points naman ang gamit ko, priority pa sa pila sa cashier since prestige ang card ko.

I have to agree, ang mahal ng tinda sa SM groceries. One time no choice kami kailangan na namin mag grocery yung usual 4,000 namin eh ang dami ng laman sa cart namin. Pero nung time na sa SM kami nag grocery. Ang konti talaga.
